Do people really worry about growing apart?

I ask myself this question sometimes because of how I've seen people in life interact with one another. I've seen all sorts of relationships in my short existence; some more successful than others but all being the reason for my pondering.

I'm not the type of person who should attack this question head on -I've had very few romantic relationships- but I have a theory.

I think people worry about not knowing the person that they're with somewhere down along the line. I don't know if it's the actual idea of lacking to completely understand someone you've known for such a long time or if it's just being scared that you'll forget the reasons you fell for that person but the ideas are equally practical. There's a fear that comes with being close to people, the fear that someday they will no longer be by your side and it is that fear that plagues even the best of us.

So maybe it's not the idea of growing apart but just the idea that you may lose someone you care about that makes people worry.

Just a thought.

Q: Is there anyone you ever worry about growing apart from?
