District 1 Male - CASIMIR LYONS

Gone with the starry skies,

All the lights that flashed so high,

Gone is the whistling breeze,

Its gentle scent that passed through the trees.

Staring into the void of a sky,

The feeling of safety starting to die,

The mountain starts brooding and so does the others,

My sisters, my friends but also my brothers.

The idea of new supplies excites them all,

Despite the danger of the shaking mountain that stands so tall,

They stare with their eyes full of glee,

Whereas I grown hesitant wanting to flee.

However I grow fond of the idea of the prize,

An antidote to the creatures magical guise,

To return the memories I once held dear,

And make our sibling love even more clear.

The higher we go the thinner the air,

The higher we go the greater the scare,

It bubbles, it spurts yet it doesn't erupt,

Like Cosmo's hatred of Valeria, it won't be abrupt.

The longer we stand the numbness grows stronger,

My feet my hands can't go on much longer,

The pain erupting inside grows bigger,

Just like Castiel's ego when he sniggers.

We start off once more, facing the terror that lurks above,

The only thing that keep me sane is Cosmo's fake love,

I stare towards her glimmering in the sun,

Her shimmering sweat beating off her as she runs.

Only then I know what true beauty is,

Something that causes your eyes to whiz,

Something that causes your heart to race,

Despite the lack of a loving embrace.

I stare towards her now battling at the peak,

The girls from seven fighting pathetic and weak,

Her body collapses to the dooming ledge,

Only then does she realise the danger of being push to the edge.

She mumbles she pleads but her voice goes unheard,

The image of her petite face falling becomes all but blurred,

Her body crashes towards the ground,

Causing silence then her abrupt cracking sound.

Cosmo smiles as if happy with her work,

Unaware of the others that lurk,

Three stand traumatised by the sight,

Almost paralysis unable to fight.

They scream, they run they try to hide,

Wishing and praying they would just die,

My blade wants action; it begs to be used,

After all it wants to be abused.

I glide on over dodging they unexpected throws,

The closer I get to one the more she slows,

She starts towards me with disgust in her eyes,

Only then do I feel sympathy for her cries.

I raise my dagger high into the sky,

Only for it to plummet down causing her to die,

Her body stiffens on the floor,

Her name Miriam will still be adored.

As for the other lying so frail and weak,

Her drained complexion looking so bleak,

She stares towards the ash filled sky,

Never able to properly say goodbye.

There I am holding her hand,

Time disappearing even when it's on demand,

She tears she cries she smudges her mascara,

As I walk away I'll always remember her name Tara.

By now the mountain erupts in flames,

It's powerful heat just another pawn in the Capitol's games,

My hair my clothes clapped to my skin,

The pain of the heat causes my head to spin.
