Dinosaur fights

[Ben POV]

Mae leans against the rock tiredly. She lays her hands on the leaves and winces.

"She's asleep." Caleb mumbles.

"The leaves we put over her wound stopped the bleeding but I don't know how long that's gonna last" Brooklyn says worriedly.

"We gotta do something." Kenji says.

"Ben says Kash has a phone." Yaz tells us.

"It's true. I spotted it when I was in the building looking for... You know."

"Let's get it, call for help, and get out of here." Yaz finishes.

"But what about the dinosaurs?" Darius asks.

I sigh.

"Now that Mae's injured, if we all leave, who's gonna protect them?"

"Darius look at her." Caleb mumbles. "She needs help."

Mae whimpers in her sleep.

"Our only chance is that phone." Sammy says

"These leaves aren't exactly sterile." I say. "We're running out of time. Let's split up and try to find Kash."

"Small problem. We don't know where he went." Kenji crosses his arms

A green light interrupts us.

"Shh. Hide." Sammy warns.

The green light slowly creeps closer to Mae's feet, and Sammy and I pull her back.

Just as they are about to find out our hiding spot...

"New orders received"

The two BRADs bound off into who knows where.

"One of them could be headed to Kash." Sammy whispers urgently.

"You guys go." I tell them. "I think there was a first aid kit in the snow gliders. I'll get Mae patched up."

They nod and leave.

I run off into the direction of the arctic biome.

[Brooklyn POV]

Yaz and I creep into the dim building of Kash after chasing the bot.

We reach an area that has dozens of not yet working BRADs all lined up.

Caleb was supposed to go with us, but we decided, the less people, the better.

"They're inactive." I whisper to Yaz.

The BRAD we followed walks through the other BRADs with a flashlight.

I peek out from behind a short metal wall, and I see a man in a blue shirt with a horrendous tattoo on his arm.

Kash.

He looks even worse than Ben explained and that is saying a lot, considering that he was in a rage at that time.

He misses Y/N. I saw him crying himself to sleep last night. I felt like doing it myself too

She's a good friend, and we all
miss her.

"Finally." Kash's voice rings across the room, breaking me out of my thoughts. "Took you long enough."

[Ben POV]

I exhale and run across the biome to the glider, shuddering in the cold.

Behind me, I spot the medical kit, along with a few water bottles and rolls of bandages. I grab them all into my arms.
