3. The Cattle Drive

Risky rescue

[Ben POV]

We thought it'd be fun

We thought we'd be safe

But.. we didn't realize the horror waiting for us on the island.

Claws..

Teeth...

Screaming..

So... much... screaming

"How much screaming?" I ask, terrified.

"Shh! He's getting to the good part!"

I am clutching on to Y/N's arm as Darius tells us a horrifying camp story.

Y/N bites her lip and shifts uncomfortably in her seat. She glances at my hand on her arm and frowns in confusion.

I chuckle nervously and reluctantly let go of it.

"The T-Rex stalked closer. Her jaws opened wide-"

Click!

"For the vlog," explains Brooklyn.

Darius sighs

"Oh here we go!" Kenji leans forward in anticipation.

"The T-Rex sta-"

"Dang! Out of space! Wait- I'm sorry hold on.. I just don't want to delete my selfie on Everest, you know."

"Ooh!" Sammy squeals

"Maybe I should start over."

"No! In fact, you can just stop," I cry out loudly.

"Dude, chill. He's not even telling his story right now."

I give Kenji a frown.

"So the T-Rex stalked-"

"Shouldn't we call Yasmina over?" Sammy asks, looking back at Yasmina who is leaning over the railing alone. "I bet she'd love this story."

Darius groans and lays down frustratedly on the log he was sitting on.

"Maybe she wants to be by herself," Kenji remarks cockily.

"I don't understand." Sammy frowns

"You know how sometimes people just want to be left alone?" Y/N tries.
"Like me..." she adds under her breath.

Sammy chuckles. "Kenji, Y/N you're both hilarious. I think she's just shy and doesn't know how to make camp friends."

(Thunder crashes)

(Rain starts falling, faster and faster)

"Maybe we should go inside!?"
Sammy yelps.

I start running as fast as I can up back the stairs.
