8. End of the Line

Left behind

[Darius POV]

We all stare at Ben and Y/N falling, horrified.

Sammy looks away first and starts crying. Yasmina hugs her. All of us tear up.

I look outside.

"We're going back." I numbly realize. "The monorail's going back!"

(brakes screech)

"What do you mean going back?"

"When we switched tracks, we ended up going north. We're not going to the South docks, we're going away from them!" I run and start pushing buttons, but nothing happens. "Doesn't anything here work?!"

"We gotta get off this monorail now!" I realize

Brooklyn looks out the window and at the tracks. "The tracks dips down ahead! We can jump there!"

"What?!"

"Jump?"

"We can't! It's too far to jump!"

"It's the only way!" I cry

And so, we all walk towards the edge of the broken glass and get ready to jump.

"One.."

Sammy whimpers

"Two.."

Yasmina cracks her knuckles

"Three..."

Kenji holds Bumpy tight.

"Now!"

We all fall, screaming.

After a while, we land on the ground, rolling until we hit something. Yaz, Sammy, Kenji, and I hit a tree. Brooklyn hits me, and Kenji accidentally let's go of Bumpy, who disappears.

"Is everyone alright?"

"Are you?"

"Bumpy. Where's Bumpy?" Kenji asks out worriedly. "I lost her when I hit the ground. She's gotta be here. Bumpy? Bumpy?!" He calls for her loudly.

"Shh! There are still dinosaurs out there including Toro!"

"But we gotta look for her, don't we?!" Sammy questions. "And also Ben and Y/N! They might still be-"

"How? We don't even know where they are."

Attention. All park-goers must report to the South Ferry Dock for immediate evacuation. Last ferry departs in 60 minutes.

"No chance we could get there in an hour it's too far!"

"Not if we leave right now!"

"But Bumpy, and Ben! And Y/N!!"

"We can't go back for them! They're... gone."

Heavy Silence

"There's just not enough time to look for..."

"We can make it to the ferry, but only if we go now."

Last Ferry departs in 60 minutes

I sigh. "We have to go!"

We all run to the South docks

(all pant)

"Keep going come on!"

Yaz falls to the ground with a heavy grunt.

"Yaz!"

"Are you all right?"
