We were walking for awhile towards the south side. "The beers getting a little better." I said taking a swig of my beer. "Told ya it'd get better." Dallas said. He had already finished his beer awhile ago. We had been walking for awhile in silence.

I was drifted off into my thoughts, once again thinking about what life would become. But one other thing crept into my mind, Dallas Winston. I didn't really understand him much. I also kept thinking about the bathroom. I don't understand why he got so close to me. Was he testing me or something? I don't know exactly what to think of it.

"How's it over on the south side doll?" Dallas asked lighting a cigarette. I broke out of my thoughts. "Huh?" I asked. Before he could answer I said "Fine I guess. It's not as good as you'd think it would be though." I finished off my beer. "What do you mean?" Dallas asked pulling the cigarette to his mouth. "I mean the houses are nice and all. It's just so fake over there. Everyone acts perfect even though they're not." I said dropping my beer bottle on the ground. "Everyone just expects everything outta me too. And I'm not saying it's any better over here. The south sides just not as great as everyone makes it out to be." I said. "Hmm." Dallas said taking a drag from his cigarette.

"What's it like over here?" I asked looking his way. "Not great but I can deal with it." Dallas said. "I get in lots of trouble and what not. And my parents don't seem to give a crap about me. I don't really care about them either though." He continued. "And the living situation is shitty, but whatever." He said. "Well that kinda sucks." I stated. "Yeah. But like I said, I can deal with it." Dallas said. "Sorry bout your parents and all. My parents don't really care about me much either." I said. "Don't worry bout me doll, I've got it figured out. Plus I don't mind, it just means I get to cause more trouble." Dallas said looking towards me. "Whatever ya say lover boy." I said smiling. He rolled his eyes at me and I chuckled.

"Can I try a cigarette?" I asked looking towards Dallas. "You never tried one before doll?" He asked looking at me. "No. My parents wouldn't let me." I said. Without question Dallas lighted a cigarette and handed it to me. "Thanks." I said bringing it to my lips. I coughed a little after taking a drag. Dallas chuckled at me and I shoved him. I started getting used to it after awhile.

We walked for awhile in silence. As we walked towards the tracks we passed by a run down building. There were bright red lights shining through the windows. As we walked by it all I could hear was loud music and yelling.

"This is where I live." Dallas said as we stopped in front of it. "You live here?" I asked looking towards him. "Yep." He said looking towards me. "It seems loud. How do you sleep at night?" I asked looking towards the building. "There's a room up on the second floor, it's not as loud up there." He said. "You don't live with your parents or anything?" I asked looking back towards him. "Nah. It's better over here." He said. "They're that bad huh?" I asked. "Huh?" He asked. "Your parents." I stated. "Yeah." He sighed as he looked towards the ground. "Sorry about that." I said. He looked up at me. "You don't have to be sorry about anything doll." He said. "Well ok then. I don't wanna bother you about it. I just think it kinda sucks is all." I said. "Yeah. But I just live with it." He said. I nodded my head.

"They just let you stay up there huh?" I asked looking back towards the building. "I know the guy that owns the place." He said, bringing a cigarette to his mouth. I nodded my head.

We stood in silence for awhile starring at the bar. "Want another beer?" Dallas asked breaking the silence. "I don't know, it's getting pretty late." I said looking his way. "It'll be real quick." He said turning towards me. "Maybe." I hesitated. "I swear." He said. "Fine." I said. We started waking towards the bar. I walked inside the bar to the strong smell of beer. There were drunk people all around, at the bar, at the pool table in the back, and even on the ground. People sure did get crazy when they were drunk, no wonder my sister doesn't want me to drink beer.

"Come on doll." Dallas said. He pushed against my lower back leading me to the bar. I felt butterflies in my stomach as he touched me. It was weird because I had never felt that way before.

We sat down on the bar stools while Dallas ordered two beers for us.

"So you've never actually had a beer before tonight?" Dallas asked looking towards me. "Nope." I said looking towards him. He laughed. "This is gonna be fun then." Dallas said smirking. "What's that supposed to mean?" I said crossing my arms. "Don't worry bout it doll. Just enjoy another beer." He said, still smirking.

"You really live here?" I asked Dallas as we waited for our drinks. "Yep." Dallas said. "I seriously want to know how you get any sleep." I said. Dallas chuckled. "I got used to the noise." He said. "Ok then, whatever ya say." I said.

After a little bit the bartender handed us our drinks. I took a sip of the beer and set it on the table. "A sip, that's all?" Dallas asked smirking. I rolled my eyes. "Just thought you'd cause more trouble is all." He said. As I heard him say that I took a gulp of my beer. It burned in my throat as it went down. "That's more like it." Dallas said taking a gulp of his beer.

After a couple more beers I began to feel drowsy. I also felt as if every bad thing in the world had gone away. I felt that the world was at peace for just one moment. I don't know exactly what this feeling was but it sure felt good. I laughed at every remark and joke Dallas would make, even if they weren't funny. I felt good for one moment of my life. I felt free. All I could see was Dallas, Dallas Winston. Smiling and laughing along with me. His cold eyes beginning to soften. I could tell he had the same feeling as I did.

I don't know exactly remember what happened after a few more beers.
