"What is meant to be will always find its way."

Yhael POV

Life is a sequence of encounters with various people through events. Some are unique, while some are with us always. Many of us think everything is predetermined, including meeting our soul partner. Many coincidences might perhaps have a more profound significance to the universe.

Even while true love may last the test of time, it's not necessary to always get your loved one. So, a lot of things are preconceived and ascertained by fate. While some people trust their destiny, others think your karma plays the most significant part in your love, relationships, and life.

So... I'm patiently waiting for my 'karma' to come. Hmm...

"What's your plan now that you've finished medical school and are licensed to practice?"

"I'm planning to apply for my residency here." Pormal kong tugon. Napapatingin sa gawi ko si daddy.

"In what field of specialization?"

"Pediatrics." Tipid na sagot ko.

"Nakapag-member ka na ba sa isang component medical society then to PMA?" Follow up question nito.

"Not yet. I plan to take care of it tomorrow." Tugon ko. "Of course, with the help of my sister, Atty. Huxley."

"We have the Cebu Medical Society as a component medical society here." Suhestiyon niya. "And for its specialty division, you can apply for membership with the Philippine Pediatric Society or the Section of Genetics."

"I'll keep that in mind." Pormal kong tugon. "Thank you." Saka tipid na ngumiti dito.

"Which hospital do you intend to do your residency in?" Tanong ni Mayor Clint.

"I haven't thought of anything yet." Sagot ko.

"Sana dito rin sa Cebu." Komento niya. "For our townsmen."

Gusto ko ngang makaalis dito now that I have the ticket to move out of this house.

"You know what, Yhael?" Si Vice Governor Nancy. "Kung balak mong magpatayo ng sarili mong clinic in the future, mas maganda kapag sa private hospital ka mag-residency." Suhestiyon niya. "Why? Mas marami kang magiging connections doon. But if you want more cases and more patients, sa public hospital ka."

"Thank you, ma'am."

Nakakawalang ganang kumain.

"Ysmael, now that Yhael has graduated from medicine, maybe we can continue the conversation that has been put off before?" Makahulugang sabi ni Governor kay daddy.

Napangiti si dad. "Sure, Governor. But maybe we can talk about it some other time."

Nagkatinginan kami ni Huxley dahil doon.
