A whole day of training just ended, and the boys were tuckered out.
Carm and been pushing them to the absolute limit for hours,
As of right now, the boys were conducting a mounting exercise
The second Carm gave the signal, all of the boys would mount the tank and start the engine as fast as they could, the faster the better.
Carm held a signal gun in the air,
The boys stood at the ready,
*BANG!
the signal gun fired
The boys nearly trampled themselves to death clambering onto their tank,
The flew into the hatches,
Danny fired up the engine as fast as he could.

.
Seven and a half seconds, Decent, but they could do better.
"Enough!" Carm barked
"What was are time now Sarge!" Gary asked, his head still inside the tank
"Seven and a half seconds" Carm said
He simply sighed, feeling like his efforts were going to nowhere.
"Let's head back to the mess, I'm starving!" Lonnie said
"You and food" Danny said
"When will you learn to lighten up"
"I'll learn to lighten up when you stop annoying me toothpick." Lonnie growled
Carm broke off to go get something, leaving the crew in the hangar for a bit
"Stop berating poor Dan, big brother" Lakie teased his sibling
"Oh, what you too now?" Lonnie fired back
"At least I get to use the big gun, tiny"
Danny wasn't as big as Lonnie so started to step backwards, as the two brothers continued to argue.

Meanwhile
Ralph decided to take the lull in activity to get some paints.
"What can I paint with these, surely there has to be something to spice up the plain paint scheme?" Ralph contemplated
After a few seconds, he got an idea
And he started drawing kill marks on the side of the turret,
Gary was busy adjusting the gun controls inside of the vehicle, when he heard somebody climb on the tank.
He poked his head out of the turret to see Ralph painting something
Upon closer inspection he found out that these were kill marks
Since he now wanted to appease his urge to customize the tank, he decided to go get something.
He returned to the hangar with some spare parts on a cart,
these included track links, drive wheels, hand tools and other useful items.
Danny retreated from the brother's arguing to see this happening.
