Cody's POV
I've always been a little bit different.
I have these vivid memories from school, when this was first evident.
I always found myself moving around, trying to figure out where I belonged
and who I was.
I thought I could find these answers by blending in with the crowds that I saw, but I just ended up feeling caged every time.
Like everyone was watching me, no matter where I went.
But, soon, I wondered if that was really a bad thing.
People stopping and staring. Being the oddball. Not fitting into any cliques.
Because the truth is, I'm not any of my peers. I'm Cody F'n Carson. I know who I am, and I'm no copy of anyone else.
I'm more free now than I ever was as a teen. Since coming out of school, I
made a name for myself my own way as the singer of a punk band. I know I
belong with them.
In the scene. On the stage, I don't have to hide or blend in. I can let my freak flag fly.
I won't be broken, and I won't be changed. No matter what happens next.
