Roman POV

I was pacing back and forth in my locker room while trying to reach DJ for the twentieth time. This was not like her. She always answered the phone when I called her. Something had happened, I could feel it. Even though I tried not to freak out, my blood was already boiling in my veins.

"Hello?" it finally said on the other end of the line, but it wasn't my wife's voice. My feeling in that second became even worse than it already was.

"Who is this? Where's DJ?" I asked loudly.

"Roman? Are these DJ's belongings? We found this phone and a purse in the stairwell a few minutes ago. Along with-" said the woman I now recognized as Maria. She worked with DJ on a team and by now they had become good friends.

"Along with what? Where is she?" I yelled.

"We called the police. Because... because there's a lot of blood here, but we couldn't find anyone." she replied hesitantly.

"Oh my god! No! I'm coming as fast as I can! Call me when you find her!" I said quickly, then hung up before she could say anything back.

"Dean! I need your rental car! Hurry!" I shouted when I saw him and Seth at the other end of the aisle.

"What's going on?" he asked, confused, but still reached into his pocket to pull out the key.

"DJ has disappeared. They found her stuff next to blood in the headquarters. I need to find her!" I quickly explained.

"Fuck! Come on I'll give you a ride. You're too fucked up. Seth, you tell the bosses what is going on.

Together we made our way to Stamfort and thanks to Dean's insane driving it only took a little over half an hour instead of an hour. With screeching tires Dean brought the car to a stop in front of the main entrance. I jumped out but was almost immediately stopped by an officer in uniform.

"Sir, you're not allowed in here right now. We are dealing with a search for a missing person," he said.

"I know! It's my wife! My wife is missing! Let me through!" I growled.

"Just a minute, I'll get the detective. I'm sure she'll want to ask you some questions." he said, then spoke quickly into his walkie-talkie.

"Your wife?" asked Dean in surprise.

"Not now Dean!" I replied irritably. This was really not the moment to deepen this topic.

"Thanks Perez. I'll take it from here. Sir, my name is Detective Gallon. We are currently searching the entire building for your wife and for evidence. The witness interviews haven't given us anything so far. I'm waiting on the security camera footage right now.

I want you to tell me as many details about your wife as possible. Every little piece of information can help us find her. And we definitely need to hurry, she's obviously badly injured. Tell me what her day looked like. What was she wearing? Who did she meet with? When was the last time you heard from her?" said Detective Gallon as she walked over to us.

Immediately I told everything I could think of. Especially the fact that it was possible that her fucking ex was around. More and more I got the feeling that he must have something to do with the situation.

If I was to get my hands on that son of a bitch, he was as good as dead. I would kill him when he laid his filthy hands on my love. Every single finger I would rip out and enjoy the screams of his pain.

But that was only secondary at the moment. The important thing was that we found DJ! She was hurt and she was afraid, I could feel that. I couldn't help but blame myself. I should not have let her go this morning. I didn't like it from the beginning, but still I had let her calm me down. And now she was missing.... She was bleeding.

"Detective! We have the footage! It is now a kidnapping!" said another officer, just as I had told everything I could think of and Detective Gallon had written it all down.

"Mr. Reigns, come with me. I want you to take a look at this person. If we're lucky, you can identify him for us," she said, and then we followed the other officer.

"Do you recognize him, Sir?" she wanted to know.

It was indeed him. I would have recognized that face anywhere. When DJ showed me pictures of him, I memorized the face very carefully in case I ever met him.

It was hard for me to concentrate on the face of the monster that had my angel in its claws. The image of my unconscious wife in his arms burned itself into my head. For sure I would never forget that again.

"This is Gabriel... Gabriel Fuller. He's DJ's ex. He works for the Kennedy Group." I said as we watched him put DJ in the trunk of a car and then get in to drive away.

"Perez! Wanted suspect Gabriel Fuller. Mugshot to all units. Locate the car with license plate 430 GMF. Get a hold of all the traffic cameras. Let's find this bastard!" yelled Gallon.

"Hold on. DJ is wearing an Apple Watch. Can you track it?" I asked as I remembered that detail.

"It depends on the settings of the watch. But we'll try." she replied, then set to work.

Please dear God make them find her. She must be all right. I couldn't lose her. It was impossible. I would not, could not go on without this woman by my side. I needed my Dani like the air I breathed.
