I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not even notice how someone approached me. My gaze was directed into the distance as I took a sip from my water bottle. I really hoped that today's yoga class would distract from my thoughts. Even if it was only for a few minutes.

"Hey pumpkin! It's good to see you. I thought you were supposed to be back last week. I've been trying to call you." suddenly a familiar voice said right in front of me.

"Oh Summer, hi! Sorry about that. I was distracted. I missed you." I replied as I lifted my head to look at her.

But as soon as she saw my face she frowned. I could only assume that it was obvious that I was anything but well. Summer sat down next to me and looked at me inquiringly.

"You look like a ghost. What happened?" she then asked.

"When I came back from my business trip last week, I caught Gabriel in bed with our colleague," I replied quietly.

"Oh that fucking moron! I'm so sorry, DJ. Is there anything I can do for you?" she wanted to know as she put her arm around my shoulder comfortingly.

"No, I don't think so. I've been staying at the hotel since then and took time off from work. Just the idea of seeing them there makes me sick. I found a new place, thank God, and I'm going to get my stuff out of the house tomorrow. I really hope he won't be there." I explained to her, really trying to be strong, but I just couldn't. I burst into tears again. Tears that the bastard really didn't deserve.

"Speaking of the devil...." I added as my phone rang for the 20th time today and of course it was Gab again.

He tried to convince me to forgive him and give him another chance. But that was out of the question for me. He destroyed my trust in him once and for all. There were things in life that you couldn't just forget and forgive. Cheating was one of them.

"May I?" Summer suddenly wanted to know and pointed to the phone I was holding tightly in my hand.

I held it out to her and watched her answer it. Now I was curious what she had to say to him.

"No, this is not your baby, you cheating man whore. Stop calling her! DJ is done with you. No woman needs a wimp like you. The day will come when you will deeply regret having cheated on her. She deserves a real man. A man who cherishes her. But you sure don't know what that is, because you never were and never will be a real man," she growled and then hung up.

"Wow!" I laughed while wiping the tears away from my cheeks.

It felt good to laugh. Somehow it made me feel a little lighter. She really was something. And I was so happy to be able to call her my friend. She was like the big sister I had always wanted.

"That felt good. I hope he gets it. So where were we? Oh yes.... send me your new address later. I'll come over and help you unpack and stuff. That's the least I can do to help you." Summer then said.

"It's really not necessary. I know you have a lot to do. I can handle it," I replied.

"DJ please. Let me help you." she said resolutely.

Knowing that there was little to no point in arguing with her, I simply nodded.

"Okay... thanks." I replied with a small smile.

"Alright then. Let's get you thinking about something else then. Nothing like a good sore body to distract you." Summer said, squeezing my shoulder encouragingly.
