Is it Too Late? (FINISHED)

Beach Day pt. 3

Alya then used her phone that had a waterproof case to take a photo of all of them underwater. She sent it in the groupchat, Marinette thought she was definitely putting that one on her wall. They were even able to get the turtle in the background of their photo.

They explored for another hour or so then headed back into shore to return the equipment. "That was so cool! I can't believe I got to pet a turtle!" Alya said to Nino very excitedly.

"Marinette, those fish seemed to love you" Luka said.

"I know, they're so cute!"

"That makes two of you" Luka replied back bending down to her level and started smirking, earning a playful punch on the shoulder.

The comment followed by Marinette groaning,  "Luukaaaa", only making his smirk bigger.

Adrien wished he could be himself right now. He may not be able to say those kinds of things to Marinette, but Chat Noir definitely could, that's for sure. "You guys set up the campfire and get Kagami, I'm going to go get my guitar" Luka said. Alya and Nino were the ones to get Kagami since she wanted her sweatshirt since the sun was setting.

Marinette and Adrien were walking together over to the bonfire pit, it was finally just the two of them with no distractions. "I'm really glad you were allowed to come today," Marinette said.

"Yeah, I am too". The two then sat in the sand by the bonfire pit, watching as the sun was setting.

The sun set with swirls of pinks and oranges painted the sky, overlooking the water. There was a slight breeze, but they could still feel the warmth of the sun since it hadn't fully set yet. "It's so beautiful, I wish I could stay in this moment forever".

Adrien looked over at her, sitting a bit behind her. The sun was hitting her face, providing a golden glow on her skin, her eye's wide, and she looked completely ethereal. "Yeah me too, it really is beautiful" Adrien said while looking at Marinette.

Marinette turned around expecting Adrien to be looking at the sunset, but instead he was looking at her with a smile. She was a bit confused.

"Hey, there's something I need to tel...."

"Okay guys, we got the food" Nino said interrupting what Adrien was about to say.

The rest of the group was now at the bonfire pit. Nino looked at Adrien, but Adrien was giving him the, are you serious face. He then realized Adrien probably wanted time with Marinette, he mouthed back, sorry dude. Adrien just rolled his eyes and put his head on his hand.

"Let's sit with the group," Marinette said, pulling Adrien along with him. He was just thinking how she grabbed his hand.

They all sat around the Campfire getting their marshmallows to roast over the fire. Luka then came back with his guitar, "Any requests?".

Alya then said, "OOOO, we should do Karaoke!!!" Everyone agreed with what she said, besides Kagami. She just wanted to enjoy sitting with everyone. She didn't need to participate herself.

Alya and Nino went first with a rendition of breaking free from High school Musical. They put on a whole show, with dance numbers, now whether it was coordinated was besides the point. Afterwards everyone was dying of laughter.

Luka sang one of kitty section's songs. He wanted to sing one of the pieces he was working on for Marinette, but he thought it would be better in private, and not in front of a bunch of people. Everyone sang a long a bit since they were familiar with his band's songs.

Then Nino and Adrien duetted Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up. They barely even made it through the whole song from laughing so hard. Alya got the whole thing on video. The whole thing was hilarious, Marinette thought it was nice Adrien was able to have so much fun with his newer found freedom.

Now Marinette was the only one left to sing something. She wasn't planning on it, but everyone wanted her to. "C'mon girl, you got this!" Alya was cheering. Adrien and Nino cheered along with her.

Luka then said, "You guys are going to love this one, Mari's a god at Karaoke" he said while smiling at her. Adrien felt a bit uneasy at the way Luka was looking at her, but he didn't want it to ruin the fun time they were all having.

"Wait! Do that Bruno Mars song we were listening to earlier" Alya said tugging her friends shirt. It's not that Marinette didn't want to sing, she just had a bit of stage fright, but she decided why not. She didn't have to worry about it thinking back on all her friends funny performances. "You mean this one?" Marinette said showing Alya her phone.

"Yeah! That one".

Marinette then showed Luka the song, he already knew that one so he began strumming. Marinette started singing I Wanna Be a Billionaire by Bruno Mars. It was her vocal range so it was a good fit. She was killing it, and to make it even better, Luka harmonized with her on some of the parts. He couldn't help but smile the entire time they were singing. He loved her voice so much. If she wasn't already so busy he'd definitely want her to join Kitty Section.

Adrien was shocked. He never knew Marinette could sing like that. Her voice was unique, but it really fit her. He was thinking, she really can do everything cant she. Kagami watched the way Luka and Adrien looked at Marinette. She thinks it's extremely stupid how Adrien rejected her when he obviously likes her. She made a mental note to talk to him before they left the beach.

When the song was done everyone clapped, the audience roared. Alya even did a wolf whistle. "Go Mari!!!" she shouted. Marinette's face was a bit red, but she was glad they enjoyed her performance.

"See, told ya she's a natural" Luka said to everyone else.

"She really is" Adrien said, but not loud enough for Marinette to hear, but loud enough for Alya to hear

Luka continued to strum the guitar as everyone talked, and roasted marshmallows over the fire. The sun had gone down all the way, and it was getting a bit chilly. Marinette wished she had grabbed her coverup like Alya did. She started rubbing her arms to try and produce some warmth.

Adrien saw this and was about to offer her his jacket, when Luka offered his up first. "Here Mari" Luka said while walking up behind her placing his zip up over her shoulders. Adrien then did the next best thing he could think of and offered up to get her cover up from the car, but she said it was ok, but she was good now. Although she appreciated the offer.

They got to talk for a bit longer, but then Gorilla and Kagami's driver showed up to pick up the kids. "Me and Mari are going to head back now, bye guys" Luka said to the group since they weren't going to be going in either of the other cars.

"I had a lot of fun today, I'm glad you all could come," Marinette said to everyone. She looked at Adrien maybe a bit too long, but she couldn't help it. Even if he did reject her, she'd always have a soft spot for him. But she has Chat now.

Nino and Alya headed inside of the Limo, and as Adrien was about to step inside he was pulled back by Kagami. "Kagami, what is it?"

"You can't hesitate. She'll be gone if you don't make a move soon" she said. Even she could see how perfect for one another the two were. After that, she got in her car as her driver drove away.

Adrien got into the limo, not saying anything, thinking about what Kagami said. She's right, he thought. The ride home was pretty silent. Everyone was so wiped from the long day, Alya even fell asleep on Nino's shoulder. Adrien admired his friend's relationship. He hoped one day that would be him and Marinette. On the way back he was daydreaming about the double dates they could go on, and if Marinette knew he was Chat Noir. That would make everything easier. Especially if she really was Ladybug.

When Marinette was dropped off at home, her parents were already asleep. She took a shower and changed into her pajamas. Then she printed out the photo that Alya took of all of them under water. She was glad she had another group photo to add to her wall. It looked a lot more normal now that it wasn't basically completely Adrien.

As she was going to go to sleep herself, she couldn't help but wander up to her balcony, hoping that a certain Chat might be out patrolling.
