"Hey, Aurora, how are you feeling?" Alijah looked at me with a questioning look
"Like I just got out of a coma and car crash, but what about you?" I chuckled and he just shook his head at my response
"I'm all good, thank you for asking," he smiled
"How is everyone doing," I raised an eyebrow at him
"They had their way of coping with everything, but you know everyone wants to see you again. Especially our cousins, aunts and uncles, and our grandparents," he told me with a smile
"Let me guess zero girl cousins," I told him
"You are wrong you have 2 girl cousins," he told me with a genuine smile
I smiled at him
"So when can I go home?" I looked at him with hopeful eyes, I'm sick of hospitals
"Soon sunshine, I want you to stay here tonight and if everything is fine we can go tomorrow," he told me and I nodded
I looked at him and saw the bags under his eyes, and his messy hair.
It looked like he wasn't taking care of himself right now
"Alijah Martinez," I crossed my hards over my chest
"Yes, Aurora?" he raised an eyebrow
"When was the last time you slept, took a shower, or even ate?" I asked him looking dead in the eye
One thing I have learned about my brothers is that when they lie they try to avoid eye contact
He looked at me and said
"Last time I... I have no idea"
he looked down at his feet
"Alijah you need to eat and sleep that's what keeps you pretty," I told him while shaking my head, how doesn't he care about himself
"Aurora you see when I told you that we all had our ways of coping, this was mine I overworked, " he told me looking me in the eye
I nodded and looked towards the opening door. A beautiful ginger-haired and blue-eyed woman walked in and looked at me
"Hello, my name is Delilah, how are you today?" She smiled at me and I looked at Alijah and saw him looking at her.
"hey, Delilah I'm doing good thanks, how are you?" I asked her And She chuckled "I'm doing very good actually, thank you for asking Aurora"
I nodded and as I smiled I yawned.
She turned toward Alijah
"I kinda need your help, there is a boy who is about 16 or 17 years old, he got here with broken bones and he refuses to talk about what happened so I could help him" Alijah looked deep in thought until he finally spoke
"Did you try to find any family members or his name, I could let my friend look into his case in police records and maybe we can find something" He looked at her and she nodded and started to leave.
When she finally left I turned towards Alijah with a smirk "So you and Delilah, huh?" I asked him while wiggling my eyebrows
"Go to sleep, sunshine, or I'm going to send you to a Mental hospital," he chuckled at my question
"You wouldn't dare, I'm your favorite sibling," I told him with fake hurt
"You are right, but don't tell others that because apparently, I shouldn't have favorites," he ruffled my hair as he stood up and walked out of the doors
