JENNIE'S POV

I woke up early to cook breakfast, because Lisa told me that her mother woke up early so I got up earlier. Even one of their maids was taken aback when she saw me in the kitchen.

"Ma'am, Ms. Manoban may become enraged if you'll the one who cook," their maid expressed concern to me.

I grinned as I turned to face her. "Don't worry, we discussed it last night," I answered.

"If you need anything, simply call me in the living room." She said and bowed before leaving.

I was thinking about what I could cook when I remembered the breakfast that Lisa served me when we once visited their mansion in Korea. That time, Uncle Marco was still alive and her mother and I were still very closed.

I decided to cook Jook. It's the thick rice congee porridge that if they call it Jook. I’m not sure if I still remember how to cook that, but I want to try. I took the ingredients I needed from the refrigerator and started cooking. I think I got the right process on how to cook this Jook so I hope Lisa’s Mom will like it.

When I finished cooking I was about to put it in the bowl when someone spoke behind me.

"Jennie" I heard the woman's voice, I turned around because I wasn't familiar with who she was. She smiled first before speaking again. "Maybe you don't remember me anymore, but I'm Wendy, Lisa's friend" She added and  looked at what I was doing. "Did you cook? Let me help you" She approached me and took the pot I was holding and she transferred it into the bowl.

"Thank you" I replied and smiled at her when she finished.

"Actually, I came here because I heard Lisa was supposed to come home" She grabbed the plates and placed them on the table

"Actually, I came here because I heard Lisa was supposed to come home" She grabbed the plates and placed them on the table. "I was about to head upstairs when I heard someone cooking in the kitchen, and I assumed it was Lisa, so I came straight here," she said and her smile still lingered on her lips.

Meanwhile, I didn’t know how to talk to her because I was a bit shy. Fortunately, Lisa arrived at the dining area.

"Hey, Wendy, what are you doing here?" She asked when she saw Wendy.

"Visiting you, didn't you miss me?" Wendy asked jokingly.

Lisa was just shook her head and laughed because of Wendy's question.

"Good morning, Love" She greeted me and kissed me on the cheek.

"Good morning, is your Mom awake?" I asked her but before she could answer, her Mom arrived.

Wendy welcomed her right away, and they appeared to be so close. She also greet Lisa a good morning, but she ignored me.

Lisa gave me a look as if she was telling me that I should just understand her mother, and I smiled back. I understand, that's why I've come to show her that I care about her daughter.

Lisa went to the kitchen to get some water, and her mother took a seat on the chair. I was ready to pull out a chair when Wendy surprised me by doing it for me. When I looked at her, she simply smiled and sat across from me.

"It's delicious," Lisa's mother said. "Who cooked it? Are you, Wendy?" She inquired.

Wendy smiled and shook her head. "I'm not, Auntie. Jennie cooked that" Wendy replied, Lisa's mother looked at me for a moment and turned her attention back to the food.

I secretly smiled when I found out that she liked my cooking. I felt Lisa grab my hand under the table so I looked at her. She smiled at me and whispered “good job”.

I know I still have a lot to go through but this is a good start.

As we ate, I noticed from time to time that Wendy glance at me.

Is she really like this? She seems weird.

I just stopped paying attention to her and I continued eating as well.

After we ate we went straight to our room and took a shower, because Lisa said we were going somewhere.

***

I didn’t know where we were going but while we're on our way, Lisa played a song.

We keep up with the song and it doesn’t matter how far we go. It's like I just heard her sing again so I stopped singing because I just wanted to hear her voice as I stared at her.

You're my sanctuary, Love.

I know we have so many problems now, and I feel like this story is not just about us, but every time I'm with her I feel safe and secure as if no one can harm me. Every day, she gives me the impression that she will never leave again.

I can't quite imagine that someone could be home.

She keeps singing while I'm staring at her.

Not anyone, you're the one
More than fun, you're the sanctuary
Cause what you want is what I want
Sincerity

Is this how it really feels when you are in love? As if my heart is shouting her name over and over again.

***

Lisa took me here to Wat Phra Kaew commonly known in English as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, it is the most sacred Buddhist Temple in Thailand.

"It's nice here isn't it?" Lisa asked me and I nodded as I looked the whole place.

"We used to be here when Dad was still alive" She said as we walked around. "Since Dad died I haven't been able to come back here, just now because I want to show you the beautiful places here in Thailand" She added.

I can't speak because I'm still amazed at what I see. "I want us to live here in Thailand when we get married" When I heard what she said I immediately turned to her. "Don't you like?" I noticed her eyes were sad, so I held her hand.

"Wherever we live, as long as I'm with you, I'm fine" I replied smiling at her and the joy returned to her eyes.

We continued walking and when we were in front of a temple Lisa called me. "Jennie" I turned to her and she held my hand. She took a deep breath before speaking. "I know this isn't the right time to tell you this, but Jennie, I don't see anyone else I can be with in the future but you" She took the red box out of her pocket and knelt in front of me. "Will you spend the rest of your life with me?" I burst into tears because of the happiness I felt.

I nodded slowly. "Yes, Love. I'd love to spend the rest of my life with you". I answered while crying.

I could see the tears in her eyes as she put the ring on my finger.

"I love you so much, Jennie" She whispered, as she hugged me.

"I love you the most, Lisa" I answered and hugged her tightly.
