Plot: You're the newest member of the hype house and you and Vinnie are both single
———————————————————————————

The boys were joking around with their cameras out, most likely making a YouTube video. You sat at the island in the kitchen drinking a bottle of water as you smiled at them.

You were about to go up to your room but Jett came over to you.

"I know who likes you." He said. He had this excited look in his eyes like he couldn't way to say it.

You raised an eyebrow at him. What an odd way to start a conversation. It was probably someone with a crush on you but you tried to make it seem like it wasn't.

"Well I would hope everyone here likes me. If not, then that would be pretty awkward."

"No, I mean like someone likes you, in that way."

"Who?" You asked.

"Vinnie."

Your heart starting beating fast at the thought that he was the one that had a crush on you.

"Wait let's go here." You pointed to the room next to the kitchen. You didn't want the others, especially Vinnie to overhear.

"Did he tell you that?" You asked once you both sat down on the couch.

He nodded. "First, I noticed him staring at you when you were playing with the dogs the one time. Then the other day, I mentioned that we go to this car meet coming up and he wanted me to ask you to come with us. When I asked him why, he just shrugged and said, "I like her."

"So you're going behind us back to tell me this?" You laughed.

It was giving middle school.

"Well it's not like he has the guts to tell you himself."

Okay true.

"Do you not like him back or what?"

You sighed. You did like him. "I just would have never seen that coming."

*Flashback*

It had been a few days since you first moved in. Everyone in the house had left to go somewhere and it just so happened that you and Vinnie were left in the house.

It would be rude to be in the same house as someone else and not talk to them.

After a few minutes of contemplating, you mustered up the courage to see him.

You knocked on his door and he said a simple, "Come in."

You opened the door to find him fixing his bed and you leaned against the doorframe.

"Do you have any plans for today?" You asked.

He focused his attention on you. "Um...I don't know, do I?"

He really didn't even mean to say that. It just came out and he regretted it immediately.

"Okay... well I might go out somewhere. Do you wanna come with me?"

He shrugged. "I don't know."

His responses made you feel like he didn't really wanna be bothered. The air in the room felt awkward so you said, "okay" and went on.

If Vinnie could kick himself in the ass, he would. He hated that he was like that around girls. He hated that his talking skills went out the window when you came around.

This wasn't the first time this had happened. Every time you talked to him, you initiated the conversation, he seemed dry, and you didn't wanna force a friendship (or even possible relationship) that wasn't there.

*a couple days later*

You guys were all going to a seafood restaurant with an outdoor patio.

The thought of bringing a sweatshirt ran through your mind but you figured you'd be fine.

Oh how you were wrong. You had goosebumps all over as everyone walked to the table.

"It's freezing in here!" You exclaimed, laughing. Mia was to your left and Jake was to your right, and Vinnie beside him.

"You wanna wear my jacket?" Vinnie asked. There was a slight sparkle in his eye. He was slightly leaning to look at you because Jake was standing in the way.

The question caught you off guard because you weren't trying to imply that you wanted anything from anyone. You just made a simple statement to make conversation. But Vinnie offered his jacket with no hesitation.

"Um...sure." You shrugged.

He took off his black Rx7 jacket and handed it to you.

(Note: I think in reality the jacket belongs to Jett and Vinnie wore it a couple times, but for this story, let's just say the jacket is Vinnie's)

Obviously it was oversized on you and it smelled just like him

Obviously it was oversized on you and it smelled just like him. You felt strangely comfortable in it.

After some minutes of socializing, Jack, who sat across from you, took out his phone to take a video of you. It was a tik tok, you recognized the song that was playing.

In less than 24 hours, what was a fun video became a breeding ground for rumors.

Every comment on his video was something about you and Vinnie.

You were wearing Vinnie's jacket.

Why were you wearing Vinnie's jacket?

Are the two of them dating?

Damn they are quick, you thought. You felt like you'd been caught even though you didn't do anything wrong. And based on the video, it wasn't really obvious that you were wearing Vinnie's jacket. Someone seriously had to do some FBI work to figure it out.

Vinnie walked into the room where you were and you sighed to yourself. Guess it was time to address the elephant in the room.

"Hey can we talk?" He asked. He must have had the same thought.

"Yeah."

He sat down next to you. "I'm sorry for what's been said about you online."

"About us, you mean."

"I don't really care about it though, it doesn't bother me. But I don't know how used to it you are and I wanted to apologize."

You shook your head. "It's my fault for wearing your jacket. But I mean, it's a little weird but it doesn't bother me."

"Well great. And in that note, you wanna go out and do something?" He said.

"What is someone sees us? Won't that fuel the dating rumors?

Vinnie smiled. "Might as well go ahead because they're saying we already are."
