Plot: you are on a flight back home that unfortunately takes longer than it should have, but end up meeting Vinnie
———————————————————————————

After putting your luggage at the top, you took your seat by the window and prepared for the flight.

You were headed home to LA from Seattle but had to stop in Las Vegas to get on a connected flight. Meaning it would take longer to get home, but the ticket was cheaper than flying nonstop.

Everyone was settling in their chosen seats and so far, you were in a row by yourself. You didn't mind though. At least you wouldn't be stuck with someone who was probably annoying and could enjoy the ride in peace.

"Hey, is anyone sitting here?"

Well, your moment of peace was interrupted.

A guy about your age was standing in the aisle, referring to the seat next to him.

"No, you can take it." You said.

Part of you became a little anxious because even though he was wearing a mask, you could tell he was attractive and you weren't ready for that.

He quickly put his suitcase in the space above so that he wasn't blocking the way and sat down, leaving the middle seat between you and him empty.

He'd glance at you and you'd glance at him but for the most part, you two just kept to yourselves. You had your headphones in the whole time, even if you weren't listening to anything.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the fight attendant said on the intercom. "Please make sure that your seatbelts are tight and your seats are up as we will be landing soon. It is 9:32 pm. Welcome to Las Vegas, Nevada."

The plane finally landed and at this point, you were just itching to get off. One half of the trip was done.

The guy next to you got out of his seat and grabbed his bags and then moved out of the way so you could get yours. You made your way out and he was behind you.

After making your way through the tunnel that connects the plane and the terminal gate, you were met with the sight of bright lights. Yep, it was definitely Vegas if there were rows and rows of slot machines in the middle of the airport.

You went to the bathroom to freshen up and then headed to the next boarding gate that would put you on the final flight home. Upon arriving, you see a familiar face sitting down on one of the chairs. The guy that sat next to you previously. This time, he wasn't wearing his mask because he wasn't around anyone, and you couldn't believe it.

Vinnie Hacker.

Part of you wanted to go up to him and make conversation. From what you heard and seen about him, he seemed like a pretty cool guy. But the other part of you didn't want to bother him. You know he gets people coming up to him all the time. Plus, it was late at night and he was probably exhausted like you.

So you went with the second option.

You sat in a seat diagonally across from him, but he saw you from his peripheral vision and he spoke up first.

"Going to LA too huh?"

"Yeah."

Fuck, you hated how awkward you sounded.

"What brings you there?" He asked.

"I'm going back home after visiting friends in Seattle." You answered.

"Oh I was in Seattle too. Visiting family." He said but then realization hit him. "I mean, of course I was, we were on the same flight from there. Are you from there?"
