Plot: Vinnie's ex girlfriend calls him in the middle of the night
——————————————————————————

Calling someone while under the influence of alcohol is never a good thing. Especially when that person you're trying to reach is your ex.

The relationship, although calling it that was a reach, ended a long time ago. Vinnie was great, no doubt, but they just hasn't meshed well together.

Part of her wanted him back and so in her drunken state, she called him and hoped that maybe he'd come and pick her up. And therefore, she'd see him again.

The sound of his phone ringing wasn't enough to wake Vinnie up. With your eyes still closed, you pushed on his shoulder.

"Vin, turn that off." You mumbled.

"It'll go away. Just sleep." He replied and wrapped his arms around you.

Like a koala, he clung to you and you squeezed your eyes shut. But whoever was calling was persistent.

"Vinnie, do it now."

He groaned and forced himself to sit up and reach for his phone.

"Who is it?" You asked.

Maria, Nate, and Reggie are the only people you would allow to call him at this time of night.

"Not sure. I don't recognize the number." He frowned. "Hello?"

You were about to tell him to go into another room and talk but you saw the troubled expression on his face.

"Why are you calling me right now?"

Whoever it was, he didn't like them.

"Are you okay?" You asked. He nodded and held your hand softly.

Your eyes were heavy with sleep but his change is demeanor was enough to keep you awake.

"No, are you serious?" Vinnie exclaimed. "I can't- of course not. Wait—stop messing around, it's not gonna happen!"

"Who is it?"

He glanced at you briefly but turned his attention back to the caller.
"Listen I really can't—okay. Yes but this isn't—no, no of course I don't want you to be—-yeah fine. Okay, okay fine I'll be there. Yes. Text me the address."

He hung up and set his phone aside and fell back on the pillows.

You eyes him closely before asking again, "Who was it?"

"It was Maddy."

"Maddy?" You thought for a moment trying to figure it out until it dawned on you. And once you realized, your hand flew to your mouth. "Oh no way."

Every ounce of sleep was then pulled from your eyes got wide. Vinnie tried to put his hand on you to keep you calm but you were quick to push him off.

"Y/N, I'm so sorry-"

"What did she want?" You snapped. "Why does she have your number? What did she say?"

"She's drunk at some party west of here-"

"And what did you mean by you'll be there?"

Vinnie's shoulders slumped and you watched in shock as he got off the bed and reached for his shirt and shoes.

"She needs me to come pick her up."

You shook your head. Vinnie was going to pick up a girl who he slept with multiple times before and was probably obsessed with him. Yeah, what could possibly go wrong?

"I don't even know what to say."

"I'm sorry." He sincerely stated and pouted. "But what else am I gonna do?"

"She's unbelievable."

You stared at the ceiling and Vinnie stared at you.

"Y/N," he said and came closer to you. He softly rubbed his hand on your thigh, trying to get you attention. "Please, don't be mad at me."

"I'm not mad at you Vin," you looked at him. "It's her. This is ridiculous."

His phone buzzed, indicating a text and he could practically see the blood boiling in your veins. Although he bad about it, he couldn't go unless he knew you were going to be okay. You were his priority, not her.

"If you really want me to stay, then someone else can get her-"

"No no no. You already said you would. I don't know if she'll be able to find someone else."

"So," Vinnie started and placed a kiss on your cheek. "Does that mean I can go?"

You scowled but nodded. "Yeah. You're a really really great guy."

"Okay." He said and kissed your lips.

"You can still tell me no." He mumbled.

"I won't. Go, it's okay. Just don't bring her here though. She can sleep it off at her house."

"Of course. I'll be back soon, I promise."
