calming the storm
a storm is coming
not a rain or thunderstorm
but a storm that comes with warnings
it's brewing inside of you
and you've held it off as long as possible
but it's coming
you can't calm it
your first warning sign is unwanted tears
that flow from your eyes
holding them in is just as painful as letting them out
a storm is coming
you are at loss
what's next besides tears
that's it
your world will crash
like the world is ending in heavy rain
the world you is dark and cold
you're freezing in it
you want to get out of it
but you can't
not until you pass the storm
as the world spins
the people move around you
you're frozen
in time
so still
so quiet
not a word said
just silence in a destructive storm
the storm is loud though
it's getting louder and louder
there's no tuning it out
no amount of laughter and music can tune it out
it's just you
in the storm
alone
actually take that back
you're not alone
it's you
and your mind
you and your mind have created this storm
but how
life
people
so many factors can play in such a storm as this
but you can't pinpoint it
it's driving you crazy
are you crazy
are you going insane
no
you're not
you just can't process it
the way you feel
the way you hurt
the way you love
the way you care
the way you are
you can't process any of it
so you shove it behind your wall
and over time it overflowed
and all those things you put off are there
you created this storm
though it isn't your fault
you're only a child
trying to fight your way through your teenage years
hoping to make it to the finish line they call adulthood
you want that big bright future
this is what drives you
to get past this storm
it may take awhile
but soon the storm will have wiped your mind clean
like how the tide pulls everything away
now you're here
a survivor of the storm
you survived
be proud
