i'm constantly looking through my memories
trying to find a genuine smile
a burst of laughter
tears of joy
when it's all quiet
i think of the moments
all the moments when those things were real to me
they were real when i was with you
when i was with you i never wanted the moments to end
these moments are all i have
i'm slowly trying to get closer to you
but fear and distance keeps me at bay
i'm also holding myself back
keeping the moments close
i cant let anyone take them away from me
not even you
it's the only part of you i'm allowed to love
you won't allow me
and all for good reason
so every ounce of love for you
i'm pouring it into the moments
