Chapter 10

Lorcan~

“Lorcan?” I could feel her cautiously walking towards my back. After our “memory” had ended, I had walked straight into my bedroom and started carving in the wall, it was like I had no choice. Just Like all the other times, only stronger this time. I had been like this for a few minutes barely noticing whenever she called my name. Though she seemed to be getting more impatient “Lorcan!” I whipped around startled out of my trance.

“What?” I asked causally.

“Umm…what’s going on.” Caitirina asked.

“What do ye mean?” I replied.

“Where you not just in the other room with me, we have to talk about this. ”

“Fine. If we take into account the time we lost, it might be possible. But why us? And how? Only a few people know the ways to send people back and forth in time.”

“Like who?” I asked.

“Vaettur, our old, and true king,, use to hold all such powers, but when he died and Narishka took over, all power was given to her.” I explained. We weren't suppose to ever speak his name, much less speak of him as our king. But I wasn't ruled by Narishka.

“There was no one else to take over?” She asked?

“All of his family mysteriously dwindled down, the rest scattered about, to far to be reached. There was an heir, but she did not survive.”

“Are there any others who know of the books?”

“Aye, but no one knows where they went.” I turned back to the mirrors, walking towards one in the middle, I placed his hand on the carvings. “These were the first ones I made. I woke one night after having this weird dream, most likely memories now that I think of it.”

“You have dreams that are like our memories?” She asked.

“Aye, many nights I woke, and this uncontrollable urge took over me, but I’m sure you noticed.” I motioned to the rest of the room.

“What about the ones in your bedroom?”

“I felt…more like myself, with them close to me. I slept more comfortably with them close by. I don’t know what they are, but the fact that they cover my body, that must mean there something of great importance.” I turned away and groaned. “ I’m tired of not knowing! But every God-dammed person I’ve ever questioned doesn’t know, and the ones who start to remember something end up missing. It’s why I stopped looking for answers, too many people got hurt.”

She placed her hand on my shoulder. “Lorcan, don’t worry we’ll find the truth, I want it just as much as you.”

“But there is no one else to talk to, know one knows anything, or at least know they know.” I started pacing the room.

She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed heavily. “I think there maybe someone.” I whipped around from where I had been standing across the room.

“Who?”

“A man I met, just trust me, I’ll find him and bring him to you.” She grabbed my face with both her hands and made me stare into her eyes. “Trust me.”

“You’re the first person I truly do.” I replied.
