I find out belatedly that Madison had been trying to seduce me and I blabbed on through it all. Accepting full responsibility, I go over to her place and fuck her cowgirl style, with me on my back, her sitting on her haunches, and feel guilty about it right afterwards - because I promised Em I'd stop doing this.

"I'm suffocating in here," I mutter, lying in bed with her afterwards.

"Wanna shower together?"

"You go ahead. I didn't break a sweat."

When she comes back, she slides under the covers. I'm standing at the window.

"I went on your Insta recently," she murmurs. "You tell Emery you love him all the time but you never say that to me."

"I knew him long before you. I had plenty of time to get to know him."

She holds her arms out.

"Why won't you come to bed?"

"What part of I'm suffocating in here do you not understand?"

I grab my things and decide to head home. I sneak in as quietly as I can, but Emery is staying up late studying and sees me.

"Where were you? I was worried about you."

"I'm worried about you," I return, stepping into his embrace. "It's late. Stop studying and go to sleep."

"Go away, dad."

"Okay, put your daddy issues aside for a minute." I roll my eyes. "I'm concerned you're not getting enough sleep."

"I suppose I could use a break..."

"Come with me to the beach tomorrow."
