valentines day // jaehyun's birthday

𝗼𝘂𝗳𝗶𝘁 ;

today jinghua was stressing to ensure today's events would go in her favour. not only was it valentine's day but it was also her husband's birthday. she wanted for the day to be perfect as it was two special events in one for the couple and jinghua wanted it to be splendid despite jaehyun repeatedly telling her not to worry and instead plan a nice day at home for the two but she completely disagreed in his decisions. knowing he had a schedule for the day, the chinese female reserved a private room at his favourite restaurant and purchases a few gifts to give him later that night.

jinghua prepared herself for the night and called jaehyun who was returning home via his manager. "hello?" his voice answered, deep and raspy indicating he was tired.

"hi! i know you're probably tired but when you come home get dressed cause i made plans," she informed him with a soft smile, speaking gently to not irritate him.

"hm, i thought i said i didn't want anything extravagant for today?" he questioned, sitting up in the passenger seat on his manager's vehicle, leaning against the window. "what have you planned now princess?"

"dinner at your favourite spot and then we can come home and cuddle," jinghua lightly chuckled. "it's just dinner and a few gifts to celebrate today," she stated, placing the call on loudspeaker so her hands were free to neaten up her wrapped gifts.

"alright. i'll see you soon then," jaehyun hung up after letting out a small 'i love you' to the female who returned the exchange of affection.

when jaehyun returned home, he was welcomed with the sight of his wife dressed in a simple casual formal outfit, her hair lightly curled and makeup done. "give me a few minutes and i'll be out," he kissed her forehead, dropping his back and headed into their shared bedroom - grabbing clothes suited for the dinner and walked into the bathroom.

"the reservation isn't till later so you're all good babe!" she called out to the showering male, making herself comfortable on the couch as she crossed her right leg over her left, humming to herself her newest released song. after a few moments of waiting, jaehyun came out dressed in a business casual look, somewhat matching jinghua - his hair still slightly wet. noticing the sound of the bathroom door opening, the chinese female approached him and smiled.

"shall we leave then?" he inquired with a posh accent, gesturing to their front door, handing his wife her purse. the female chuckled, grabbing the purse from his hands and curtsy towards him - thanking him with a similar accent before the two exited the house ( locking the door of course. )

getting into the car, jinghuae sits in the passenger seat and allowed jaehyun to drive them to the restaurant. the ride was in comfortable silence, small talk happening every now and then about their days. the car ride wasn't long and the couple reached their destination fairly quickly. jaehyun found a parking space and the couple made their way into the local slightly packed restaurant, speaking with one of the workers about the reservations. because jinghua requested a private room, one of the works had to escort the two towards the room, jaehyun holding jinghua's hand to ensure she wouldn't get distracted and lose him in the somewhat of a crowd.

"this was a nice thing of you to do baby," he mentioned after the two were seated inside their reserved room - menus in their hands as they observed their options. "why would you do something like this?"

"it's your birthday and valentine's day," jinghua answered, sticking out her tongue out momentarily at the male before returning to gaze at the menu, deciding what she wanted. the two figured out their meal and placed it in the order now causing them to wait for their food to come. "how was your schedule? anything fun happening with the team?" the chinese female asked, her hand playing with jaehyun's on the table as they waited.

"hm, just filming some stuff for youtube," he responded. "been busy mainly with the drama," jaehyun told the girl, smiling softly at how adorable she looked playing with his hands. humming gently, the two continued their small conversation about past memories and their future - mainly about possibly starting a family, but that's just a thought.

after dinner, jaehyun and jingua returned home - changing into more comfortable clothes as they decided to put on a movie in the background of jaehyun's birthday instagram live. "hello nctzens, jinghua is here as well," he informed his viewers, the chinese female peeking her head into the frame for a short moment before standing up to grab snacks inside the kitchen. "we just came home from dinner. jinghua planned it although i said not to," he chuckles lightly.

"you deserved it!" she frowns, appearing behind the couch and handing him the bowl of popcorn before leaning down to press a quick kiss on his lips and walking into their bedroom to grab his gifts.

"hm, we're going to watch a movie and just thought i'd come on and say hello," jaehyun explained, thanking the many fans for greeting him a happy birthday and happy valentines for the couple.

"here you go~" jinghua plopped onto the couch beside him, settling the bag of wrapped gifts. swinging her legs over his thigh, she scoots closer to her husband to be in the frame of his livestream. "if you appreciate every one of those gifts i am never buying you anything ever again," she said to him, leaning her head against his shoulder - watching as he unwrapped the gifts on livestream.

what the seventeen member bought for her husband was a new phone, his favourite cologne and her album - signed with a very personally written letter inside of it. jaehyun turns to his wife, smiling at her smiling face before leaning in and kissing her, thanking her as he looked through the album. "wah~ look how pretty she looks everyone," jaehyun boasted, showing the livestream an inside view of her newest album. laughing, jinghua playfully slaps his shoulder. after a while the couple bid their goodbyes and spent the remainder of the day cuddling and watching movies.
