Hanahaki disease is an illness that is born from unrequited love. It causes flowers to form and grow inside the victim's lungs. The victim will then continue to cough up petals or whole flowers as the love grows, but if left untreated and unresolved, the flowers can grow at a rapid pace and eventually fill up the lungs, becoming fatal. It is treatable, but once the flowers are removed, so are the feelings. Most people do not want to get rid of feelings that they have for the other person however... take Aaron for example. He fell in love with his best friend of four years, Kyle. He knew his friend would never feel the same for two reasons. 1. Kyle is straighter than a ruler. 2. Who would love a mute like him?

He then finds out that Izuku is suffering from Hanahaki and is on the verge of death. He struggles with his own feelings while trying to save Izuku.
