Umar dropped me off at the hospital well because...I didn't want to drive
He said he had something to take care of but he'll come to see Ya Abdul later on
It was obvious he was going to start investigating his Uncle's matter
And I knew that when he started there's no going back
We reached the hospital and he Parked in the parking lot
"Tell Aunty I'll come in later, I have clients at the office waiting for me" he said
I nodded "ok Toh"
I opened the door ready to go out when he held my hand
I turned back "Na'am?"
"You didn't give me a kiss" he said
I looked at him in surprise
Eh?
When did this start?
My cheeks heated up before I shook my head at him with a smile
I placed my hand on his cheek before I leaned in and I placed a kiss on his other cheek
I leaned back
He shook his head at me "Not that"
He brought his hand to the back of my head before he pulled my face back to his placing his lips on mine
My cheeks heated up but I relaxed knowing the windows are tinted and the car was facing a wall
He pulled back "But this"
I rolled my eyes just to not make it obvious that I'm blushing but of course I knew he saw it because of the smile on his face
"Goodbye, I'm running late" he whispered still holding unto my cheek and looking at my face
Okayyy...
"What?" I asked
He shrugged
"Ok you're scaring me bye bye" I said as i let out a little laugh before I pulled away and I went out the door and I turned as I waved at him
He nodded at me once
Ugh, typical Umar, even normal wave my guy can't wave back
I entered the building as I walked to the room where Ya Abdul was admitted into
He had left the emergency room yesterday, he was ok it's just that he hasn't regained consciousness yet
Luckily for me the room was on the ground floor so I didn't have to walk up the stairs or wait for the lift
I entered the double doors which had Number 6 on it
It had a hospital room and a little seating area
Immediately I entered I saw Baba and Rumaisa seating in the seating area
Baba was sipping on his tea and watching TV while rumaisa was scrolling through her phone
I couldn't help but let my mind wander to the fact that he wouldn't be here if it was actually me
He'll make an excuse of work
Well he has been a lot nicer to me since I and Umar got married
But it's not like he changed completely
It still shows that he likes Rumaisa And Ya Abdul more than me
I squatted down
"Baba Ina kwana" I greeted (Good morning)
His attention left the tv and any light he had in his eyes while watching the tv vanished
He nodded "Lafiya, ina mijin naki?" He asked (Where is your husband?)
"Yajeh aiki, but he'll come later on"I said (He has gone to work)
He nodded and he went back to watching the tv
I turned to Rumaisa who didn't bother greeting me
Some things never change
And of course baba didn't talk to her about it
But now if it was me that didn't greet Ya Abdul or someone older than me in front of him I'll not leave the place alive
"Ina Aunty?" I asked her as I sat down with them (where is Aunty)
"She's inside, with the doctor, they're checking him up" she said without looking up from her phone
"Hm, ok Toh" I said to her
Just as I closed my mouth Aunty and the doctor came out of the room
The doctor saw me and he smiled before he stopped "Hello Mrs Kashim, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine doctor, how about you?"
"I'm doing alright , thanks for asking" he said
"That's good"
"Have a good day" he said with a smile before he continued walking
"You too" I said
I liked this doctor
He was really nice
I knew him from when Umar and Al'amin brought me here that day when Umar left me at that office
He was the guy who treated me
That hospital they took me to was his personal hospital
But he works here as well
"Aunty Ina Kwana" I said (Good morning)
"Lafiya qalau Hameeda,ya gajiyan giya?" (How's the tiredness from yesterday?)
"Everything's fine Alhamdulillah" I said trying not to think about what happened yesterday
"Toh Masha Allah,How's Umar, he's at his office right?" She asked
"Eh, but he's coming later" I said
"Toh shikenan"
"Ya Ya Abdul?" I asked
"Toh Alhamdulillah gaskiya, he woke up at 5 o'clock and he was awake for about 30 minutes before he went back to sleep, the medicine they are giving him is making him sleep" she explained
"Alhamdulillah, that's good news"
She nodded "yes, you can go In and see him"
I nodded as I stood up and I walked into the room
This was the first time I was seeing him since the accident
He looked really fragile
I walked up to him to see how lifeless he looked in his blue hospital gown with bruises all over his face
His chest raised up and down slowly as he breathes
It was terrifying to know that he might have stopped doing that yesterday
I couldn't help the tears that gathered in my eyes as I gently brushed my thumb against his cold and pale cheek
I sniffed just as my phone vibrated
I take my hand off of his cheek and I walk out of the room to answer the call
I walk into the seating area to see baba not their anymore
I walk out of the seating area too
When I was outside in the corridor I brought out my phone to see Rabi'ah calling me
I quickly answered it before the call died
"Hello Hameeda?" Rabi'ah said
"Rabi'ah" I replied
She sighed "Oh My God, are you ok? Why have you been ignoring my calls?" She asked
"I haven't been ignoring you Rabi'ah, it's just that I didn't really use my phone in the past 24 hours" I said
"Ohhh, B-..But did you see my text?" She asked
I nodded until I realized she couldn't see me
"Yes, I did see it" I replied
"Okayy, so Is Ya Abdul ok?" She asked
I sighed just deciding to tell her once and for all
"Meet me at Nisa hospital right now, ground floor room Number 6"
Immediately I said those words the call ended

In less than 20 minutes Rabi'ah came into the hospital looking like a mad person
Her abaya not buttoned properly and her veil carelessly thrown over her head
I decided to wait outside in the corridor for her
So I found a chair facing the doors of the hospital suite
Immediately she saw me she rushed to me
She sat down next to me and she held my arm "hameeda what happened?"
"His car got hit by a truck when he was coming back from your house"
Her hands fell from my arm as her eyes widened and her lips parted open
She stayed like that for a long time
"I-.." she Finally said
"I knew it, Wallahi I knew it Hameeda, I knew something like that will happen, that's why I texted you, I saw a look in his eyes and it freaking scared me, I feel so gui-..." I tried to shush her as tears ran down her face
"Calm down Rabi'ah, he's fine now, he woke up this morning, he's now asleep"
"I still feel guilty hameeda, I didn't know what to do" she said
I shook my head at her "don't feel guilty Rabi'ah, it isn't your fault, I should have told you earlier, because I knew about it.."
She turned to look at me "you do?"
I nodded
She sighed "even if you did, I still wouldn't have known what to do, it took me completely off guard, I like Aliyu but I also don't want my friendship with Ya Abdul to end because of this, I really cherish it" she said as she started to wipe her tears
Some nurses gave us a few glances before they minded their business
They were probably used to things like this
I wrapped my arm around her shoulder
"I'm sorry everything will be fine soon Rabi'ah, in Sha Allah" I reassure her
She sighed "I really hope so"
