Dad- "I want an explanation on why you were arrested last night."
Lissy- "Didn't Duke tell you"? I said with attitude
Dad- " I'm not in the mood for any of your attitude Allyssa. I want an explanation."
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "Allyssa McGarrett, answer my question."
Lissy- "I was arrested for driving."
Dad- "No one gets arrested just for driving. There is usually more to it."
Lissy- "Why are you asking me these questions when you clearly know the answer"?
Dad- I took a deep breath in order for me to calm my anger towards her.
"What I know about what happened last night doesn't concern you. You are going to tell me why you were arrested."
Lissy- "I was arrested for driving while drunk."
Dad- "In the first place, you shouldn't be drinking, and second you don't even have your license. You only have a permit that only allows you to drive with an adult who is either twenty-five years of age or older. I know for a fact that Cara isn't twenty-five or older. Now care to explain that"?
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- " I'm waiting for an explanation Allyssa."
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "I'm getting impatient, Allyssa."
Lissy- "You're making a huge deal over nothing."
Dad- "You were arrested, Allyssa! While under the influence! It's a huge deal."
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "What were you even thinking about driving while you were under the influence?"
Lissy- "I didn't think"
Dad- "Clearly you weren't thinking. Because if you did stop and think of the consequences of what could happen. You wouldn't drive"
Lissy- "But nothing happened Dad"
Dad- "You were driving back and forth between the road Allyssa! You were not only endangering other drives who were on the road but your and Cara's lives as well"
Lissy- "And your point is"?
Dad- "What part of that do you not understand that you could've gotten into accident? You could've killed or hurt people let alone your and Cara's lives"?
Lissy- (No Response)
Dad- "I trusted you to make the right decisions. I thought you were mature and responsible. Apparently your not"
Lissy- "I am Dad"
Dad- "Are you? Because a responsible and mature person wouldn't do what you did. I'm sorry to say this but maybe this would get through to you. You have lost the privilege of driving for a least a year"
Lissy- "But what about my behind the wheel test"?
Dad- "What about it? You are not doing it"
Lissy- "But that's not fair"
Dad- "You have lost the privilege Allyssa. Maybe in a year you can take the test. We would have to see"
Lissy- "But my permit is going to expire"
Dad- "You will retake your permit test but before you do that you are going to take drives ed again. And even before that even happens you would have to earn the privilege of doing those things. Just because I said you have lost the privilege of driving for a year doesn't mean in a year you can automatically take the test. You are going to earn it"
Lissy- "But that's not fair Dad"
Dad- "You made the choice to drive not only under the influence but with your permit"
Lissy- "Hmph"
Dad- "Now for your punishment for lying to me"
Lissy- "There's more? Wasn't taking my privilege of driving away and making me spend the night in jail enough"?
Dad- "You spending the night in jail was for you to see what would happen if you ever drive while under the influence and as for the taking away your driving privilege that was also for your actions for driving with your permit and under the influence. I haven't even gotten to your punishment for you lying to me"
Lissy- "Yipee" I said in a sarcastic voice
Dad- "You brought this upon yourself. I have told you multiple times that when you lie there are always consequences for it"
Was Steve too harsh on Lissy??
