-Levi-

"It's beyond me that you would go and terrorize a family that is clearly struggling with the cards they've been dealt." Kaisa sneers at Nick in disgust.

"They need to know the truth." He responds.

"I need you to tell me what you know so these people can live in peace." She seethes.

"Kaisa, stand down." I order.

Her eyes dart to mine, and for a moment, her eyes glow a deep emerald. Her eyebrows are furrowed, and a small gust of wind bursts from her. I blink in confusion, but my expression remains the same—whatever just happened is interesting to say the least.

"Do you hear this guy? He's spewing straight shit out of his mouth."

I push Nick against the stone wall, squishing his face against the concrete without taking my eyes off of Kaisa.

"It's not our job to interrogate him—know your place." I give her a pointed look.

She looks at me in disbelief before turning around, waving her hand over her shoulder, signalling us to follow suit.

"This isn't all you're going to see, Nick. There is a lot of more suffering you need to understand." Humanity's Tempest calls out.

"You heard the woman, walk." I give Nick a rough shove to get him moving.

We babysit the frustrating, extra weight that's known as Pastor Nick throughout the rest of the evening. Although he seemed to be making progress by interacting with the citizens, his overtly kind nature was sickening to witness. Such a two-faced individual deserved no redeeming of any sort, nevertheless the kindness we're providing him with although his irritable presence was testing my tolerance.

Eventually, our gallery walk of the unfortunate souls who've been placed in this situation comes to an end once I see Hange wave over at me.

"We're heading back." I state calmly.

Kaisa nods her head in response and drags the pastor by his collar towards the cart behind her. A little smirk tugs at the corner of my lips, I'd applaud her behaviour if I could, but it'd be inappropriate to do so at the moment.

People stare as I follow the commotion happening in front of me, all of which are confused and interested in my lack of discipline. Frankly, I'm no longer in a position to discipline Kaisa. Also, I just don't care to put in the effort since I know she's too invested in this to listen. She can hold her own and make her own decisions, and it isn't my job to tell her what she can and cannot do.

"Kaisa, don't you think you should be nicer to our new guest?" Hange teases.

"I'm more so surprised that she's behaved well for this long considering the bullshit I bore witness to." I scoff.

"Please, I request you don't swear in front of me." Nick pleads.

"Let's discuss. I'll keep Levi under control if you give me some information on the walls." Kaisa compromises.

I raise an eyebrow at her remark and see the newest soldiers quietly laughing among themselves. I shoot them a glare and immediately they freeze and rethink their actions.

"I'm sorry, I can't give you much." Nick lowers his head. Immediately, Kaisa's mood changes.

"I respect that, I understand your commitment to the walls." She charms.

He looks up at her in surprise and I turn my head in disgust knowing that her influence is too big considering her small size. How she manages to switch between the woman who just dragged him here with force to suddenly encompass people with her empathy when it's convenient is beyond me; although, I must say it's a useful trait to have on our side.

"Really?" He presses. She softly places a hand on his shoulder and leans slightly in with soft eyes staring into his.

"I may not understand completely, but I'm coming around to the idea of unconditional dedication to a cause." She responds, quickly glancing to me before bringing her attention back to Nick. My stomach twists in a weird way that's never happened before; it's an uncomfortable, new feeling to say the least.

"I see." The pastor looks down. Kaisa moves her hand off his shoulder and walks to stand next to me, waiting for his answer.

"Historia Reiss. She's the one who can help you figure everything out. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and I believe she's joined the Survey Corps. That's all I can say." He looks up at us once he finishes.

"Historia Reiss..." Kaisa trails off in thought. The name doesn't ring a bell unsurprisingly.

"Blonde hair..." Eren thinks aloud.

"Blue eyes..." Mikasa continues.

"I think I know who it is." Armin calls out.

We turn our heads to him as he goes to speak but I put a hand up.

"We'll discuss it later. Our concern isn't with this, but with the hole in Wall Rose; let's focus on that first." I decide for us.

Four-eyes nods her head in agreement.

"Levi's right. We should be hearing about the report soon-"

"Excuse me, Captains! We have an update on multiple issues." A messenger runs towards Hange with a scroll in hand.

"Speak of the devil." Kaisa mumbles next to me. Her irritated face is almost too adorable to be taken seriously with that expression.

Hange reads the document privately while Pastor Nick and the trio load onto the cart in preparation to leave. Kaisa and I stay behind a while longer while trying to read Hange's expressions. Her aura changes and analyzes the scroll carefully while having an unreadable face which relays to us that it's something serious.

She rolls it up completely, flashing a smile to the messenger and doesn't miss a beat to beam back at us as if nothing's wrong.

Her smug behaviour almost drives me to wipe the look off her face.

We silently approach the cart where the others are waiting. This disorganization will be what destroys the entire plan; the lack of preparation is agonizing.

"We'll have a talk on the way back, let's go."

-Kaisa-

We ended up needing to take another detour—for what exactly, I don't know.

In fact, I barely know what's going on right now.

I'm confident that I have the same information that everyone else in our cart has, yet we don't seem to be heading in the direction of the wall to check for any holes. Maybe it has to do with the letter Hange received not too long ago, but either way, I'm starting to get annoyed.

"Kaisa, Levi, can I talk to you?" Hange calls out to us. We twist back over our shoulders to face her, then share a look, before nodding and walking over.

Hange doesn't say anything but hands Levi the scroll who ends up holding it between us to read.

Squad Leader Hange,

The circumstances observed conclude the interesting outcome in which there has yet to be a titan discovered amongst the outside wall with their head embedded within Wall Rose. From the two teams which have searched the perimeters, none have been successful in identifying where the titan is located. Such information would insinuate the conclusion that there was no titan who managed to break through the wall, rather, the titan was in the wall.

This statement is made with great caution; the possibility of either squad missing the titan is possible considering the search was conducted at night. Therefore, both teams will be heading out in the morning to resume the search.

Moreover, the background checks issued on Training Corps 104th members are completed. The hypothesis presented at the meeting yesterday has proven to be true. After evaluating Annie Leonhart's file, two other members are seen to have the same hometown. These two members happen to be apart of the Survey Corps; Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover are also from the same hometown.

Lead with caution and do inform Corporal Levi and Kaisa about the current situation before approaching Eren Jaeger about the possible recruitment proposal from Brauner and Hoover.

Regards,

Erwin

"There was a meeting yesterday?" I think aloud.

"You were on your day off; plus, even if you weren't, it wasn't directly in your jurisdiction to show up. We didn't think much of it—it was more like a casual talk than anything." Hange affirms.

"I don't know Berthold, but I do know of Reiner; blonde hair, tall, and very fit. He seems to get along with Eren." I say, recalling the encounter we had yesterday morning during breakfast.

"Unfortunately, that poor kid is going to have to realise the three people he idolized indeed are formidable enemies." Levi sighs.

"We'll tell him tomorrow." I propose. "Right now, the likelihood of the scouts outside the walls returning to HQ is very unlikely; chances are, they're heading over to that other castle." I reason.

"Castle?" Levi raises a brow.

"Yeah, what's-it's-face. I forgot what it's called but it's that really creepy looking one." My hands try to describe what I mean as I speak.

"That is absolutely one of the most atrocious descriptions I've ever heard."

"Shut it, Levi. I'm doing my best here."

"Ahem," Hange interrupts. "I'm still here too, you know."

"Cut it, four-eyes. I agree with scissor-hands here; we should wait until tomorrow."

"I was just trying to make the image of the building in your head clearer!" I scoff.

"You made it worse."

"I'll stab you."

"With those empty threats, you won't be waking up tomorrow."

"I sure fucking hope so." I roll my eyes, ending the conversation between Levi and I before walking back towards the cart.

"Captain Kaisa!" Armin makes his way off the cart towards me

"Yes, Armin?" I respond as I take out my ponytail to fix it, placing the elastic in my mouth.

"Historia, the girl that Nick mentioned. I think it's this girl from our year named Christa, Crista Lenz." He informs me.

"What the fuck is up with your year, huh?" I mumble before tying up my hair.

"S-sorry ma'am, I just thought I'd let you know." Armin stutters.

"Calm it, kid—I'm just joking. I'll let the other squad leaders know and get someone to check her file when I can. For now, I need you to be the support system for both Mikasa and Eren." I respond.

"Yes ma'am!"

"Also, you did a great job yesterday. I'm thankful to know we have someone who's really intuitive on our side." I look up at the taller young man with a smile.

"Thank you, it's a pleasure serving alongside you, Captain." He salutes.

"Seriously though, just make sure those two don't have a mental breakdown or something—that's the last thing we need at the moment." I joke.

"Sure thing."

"Oi, move your asses—we've got an alert. We're heading towards Utgard Castle—Hange's squad will meet us there." Levi calls from our ride.

"That's what it's called!" I exclaim in remembrance.

"Move it, brats." Levi orders.

"I heard you the first time, idiot." I mumble to myself before jumping onto the cart that brings us towards our next destination.

i tried writing hange's name like they do in subs, lmk if you prefer that over 'hanji'. i only originally wrote it in the latter way because it may be easier for those who haven't gotten too far to pronounce it properly? (idek tbh lmao)

anyway, enjoy!

much love and take care,
