Chapter 9 - Done now
It had been two days since Ryan had told me about Nicholas, and what he really got up to.
I hadn't stopped thinking about it since.
I started to think back to things he had done that i had always chosen to ignore in the past, that now made me realise how naive i had been.
Like the time we saw Ryan and Olivia at that party, and he had completely checked Olivia out.
At the time i just pretended it didn't happen.
And how he would always spend a couple of hours with me at a party then leave quickly without a proper explanation.
Completely ignoring things had been my coping mechanism with alot of things lately.
With Nicholas..
With my Mum.
But i was done with ignoring all this shitty things Nicholas did now.
I wasn't sure if right now i even wanted any type of relationship at all.
But i knew that when i did, i wanted someone who would never check someone else out in front of me.
Someone who would want to spend the whole evening with me without getting bored.
Someone who actually knows my eye colour instead of saying 'They're kind of greenish right?' when i asked.
Which they weren't of course, they were brown.
Whenever that would be, I was now 100% sure it wouldn't be Nicholas.

Sarah screamed with excitement when i told her all about my conversation with Ryan in the car and how i had finally come to my senses.
It was friday afternoon and we were done with school for the day, and sitting on my bed chatting.
It was the eve of Nicholas' party, and i had every intention of still going.
'So what are you going to do today when you see him?' she questioned, smiling widely at me.
I giggled, 'Well, i'll do the usual at first' i started, catching her rolling her eyes out of the corner of my eye.
'But then I'm going to turn around, surprise the hell out of him, and tell him I'm done with it all'
'Thank god! Who would have thought Ryan Pierce would be the one to show you the light?'
We laughed together, it was true.
I never would have thought.
'Anyway' she said changing the subject, 'What time are we getting ready then'
'Later' i said, walking over to the shelves and picking up the old photo albums i was looking at the other day. 'First we- I mean I need closure, and you're going to help me.'
We spent the next 2 hours talking through every single picture together, and it acted as very good therapy for me.
When we were done i closed the books and passed them to Sarah.
'Here' i said, smiling sadly. 'Take them, i don't want them sitting there on my shelf looking at me anymore'
She took them from me straight away. 'Good idea, and anyway once you finally get over him completely we can look at them again.'
I sighed out of relief 'Exactly'
---------------------------------------------
I walked into the party that night feeling alot more on edge than usual.
It obviously had something to do with the fact that i was confronting Nicholas tonight. But i think it also had something to do with the fact i was back in his house.
I used to come here all the time, and i knew his house back to front.
'Dude do you know where the cups are?' i heard someone shout as i walked into the kitchen.
'over there' i said, pointing to the cupboards.
Just then i felt the familiar feeling of arms wrapping round my waist from behind.
I giggled fakely, turning round to face him.
'You still remember where everything is' he smirked
'How could i forget?' i tried to hide the bitterness and sarcasm in my voice.
'Im glad you came' he said, leaning into my neck and planting small kisses down it.
He grabbed my hand, pulling me outside to the garden where we spent the next hour together doing the norm.
It was when he suggested we go back inside that i decided i'd have to break it to him. I held his hand as we walked in from the patio, but instead of going through to the kitchen he took me up to his room.
Maybe this would be a better place to talk to him, away from the party and everybody else.
When i walked into his room, i took a deep breath.
Almost everything was the same as i had remembered it.
The dark blue walls, his hockey trophies all lined up on his shelves.
I smiled as i looked around, and then remembered what i was here to do.
He sat down on his bed and patted the place next to him.
I slightly stumbled over, as i was quite intoxicated as was he.
When i sat down we started to make out as usual, but this time he started running his hands up and down my legs.
He started to get a little bit too hands on for my liking, so i used my hands to push him away.
But he wasn't having any of it, and he started to become a bit more forceful.
Before i knew it, he was reaching for the zip of my trousers, trying to it down so he could take them off.
'Nick' i said, tensing as he started to tug at my jeans. 'Nick, stop' i spoke calmly.
He wouldn't listen to me, and i felt myself start to panic.
'Come on Kara' he growled into my ear. 'Everybody knows you've been in love with me for years'
This time i got both my arms and pushed him away from me as forcefully as i could.
'Excuse me?' i said, one eyebrow raised
He had finally stopped and just sat there smirking at me.
'You think i don't know?' he laughed. 'it's like you're obsessed with me or something'
I stood up slowly ad started the walk backwards.
'You're an asshole' i whispered, shaking my head at him.
He slowly stood up too. 'Oh come on Ka-'
'No!' i almost screamed, the tears brimming in my eyes. 'I am so done with this shit! I'm so done with you!'
He took a step towards me, and without realising i found myself pulling my hand back and smacking it against his face hard.
We both stood there shocked. He pulled one hand up to cup his cheek, staring back at me.
'fuck you' i spat, and walked out the door slamming it behind me.
As i ran down the stairs, i felt the tears rolling down my face. I quickly zipped up my jeans, and took my phone out my back pocket so i could call Sarah and ask where she was.
Just as i got to the bottom of the stairs, i walked smack bang into somebody again.
Ryan
'Damn Kara, you need to start looking where you're going' he said
I looked up at him, and saw the hard expression on his face change in the space of a second to a soft one as soon as he saw what i assumed to be mascara smudged all under my eyes.
'Kara, whats wrong', he asked, concerned. Olivia stood behind him, with an identical concerned look plastered on her face.
'I'm fine', i said wiping my tears away
And i realised when i said it, that i actually was fine. Although i had ended it with Nicholas in quite a dramatic and traumatic way, it was over.
And that made me feel so much happier.
