It was Friday, two more days before she was back to LA. Travis had called yesterday night and made her smile nonstop when they were about to go to bed he told her he needed to talk to her face to face.
She felt happy with that statement. She had being contemplating whether to move to Miami or go back to LA.
She got up from her bed, took her phone and walked to the living area of the suite that would soon become history for her and Petra. She dialed her Mom's number it rang the first two times and went shut. She tried again and her Mum picked on the second ring.
"Amalie..Was in the woods and no service."
"Woods?" Amalie asked scared "What are you doing there?"
"Calm down..I was strolling with the dogs and one ran off so I went to look for it."
"Did you call anyone to go with you?"
Her mum giggled "I'm fine Ama. I'm only old not paralysed."
"I know mum but you have to take care of yourself more. You are ageing."
Eleanor laughed. "Stop worrying about me.. How's Miami? Having fun?"
"Yes Mum. Its a really nice place. Petra is happy for this kind of break."
"I'm sure she is..just like you always glad for an adventure." They both chuckled.
After a minute of silence Amalie looked outside and said "Thanks Mum...for everything."
"What?"
"For not treating me like an outsider even after I eloped with Kenth."
Eleanor giggled and sighed "What kind of mother would I be if I disregarded my own daughter. You bring joy to my heart Amalie and I love you so much."
"I love you to Mum."
"Don't give up Darling."
"Yes mum." She replied and hung up.
Amalie sat on the cushion and looked beyond what was present beside her. She sat thinking back to how life was.
Kenth and her met at one of the school games. He was the star quarter back and she had no business with him. They had just met randomly after one of Kenth's game. She and Carlia had gone for dinner at one of Latagnier popular diners. She was at the counter ordering their food when Kenth walked up and started checking her out.
He told her that day that she looked beautiful and she felt very happy that the schools most popular guy was checking her out. After that day Kenth and her started talk. He had just broken up with popular girl and cheerleader Isabella McClain.
Isabella would always torment her, threatening Amalie and telling Amalie Kent and her were still dating. She had told Kenth and he had told her Isabella wasn't a threat to their relationship and there and then he had asked her to be his girlfriend.
They started dating but her Mum won't hear of it. She told Amalie to stop seeing Kent. She should break up with him so he won't distract her on getting the scholarship to the University of Georgia.
She didn't listen to her Mum's protest. She'd go behind Her back, sneak out of the house and go out with Kenth.
They would go to his game together and after the game whether his team lost or won she'd kiss him. About the time they were to graduate Kenth went to Amalie's house and introduce himself to her Mum but instead of welcoming him Her Mum would send him out telling him not to waste her future.
She'd get grounded for coming home late but would still sneak out and go out with Kenth. The night they graduated from high school they sneaked out to go have dinner celebrating their success and her scholarship to the University of Georgia. That night Kenth completely changed in front of Amalie he looked grown up. He went in one knee and brought out a ridiculous ring and asked her to marry him.
Her dream was finally come to past. Marrying the love her life. That's all she wanted. When she told her Mum, she was furious with Amalie and told her not to regret all this. Amalie told her Mum she had already declined the admission to the University. Kenth's parent also didn't want them to get married.
She brought an option and told them to elope. They planned it and did so and moved away from Latagnier. Nine months later she gives birth to Petra which brought both families together. They all agreed on a small ceremony to renew vows with family present thus time.
A week after the wedding Kenth had turned from his charming self to a mature beast. He would come home heavily drunk and at the beginning of this sudden change he didn't raise his hands on Amalie. He was angry everyday for not getting a job. They would argue about one thing or the other and go to bed angry with each other.
Years into the marriage and it became worse. When she questioned him on his behavior, he would beat he and curse her, raining all kinds of insults on her. Petra was two when all this started. At that time he had changed drastically from the drunk to the drunken beast.
As the years grew it turned more worse. Things started to get ugly. Amalie had once been found on the kitchen floor bleeding, but it still didn't stop. When Petra turned five he began to beat her also that she was taken to the hospital for months. Amalie knew this was getting too much so she took Petra to her Mum's who she had ignored for years.
Amalie filed for a divorce when she found out he was cheating on her with Isabella McClain but he never did accept the option. Shortly before Petra turned six, they were filing the divorce papers, after he had gotten a better paying job from his whore. Days before they were to finalize it in court Kenth was found on the floor in his room in the pool of his own blood.
She called 911 and on the way to the hospital he died. Amalie had cried hearing he died from intake of too much alcohol and drugs. She felt free and happy when it dawned on her.
People were starting to talk about her. She got a job as quick as she can. When it was able to pay for a train ticket to California LA she quit and ran away with her daughter.
Remembering this made Amalie to cry. She got herself together when she heard Petra come out of her room. They got ready for another tour Carlia had planned with her Fiancé.
Later that evening before she got ready for her evening out with Travis. He told her to dress casually since it was just a movie night. She was in the middle of applying her make up when her phone rang.
It was Ella calling.
"Hey Ella."
"Amalie can we Skype now? I have something urgent to talk to you about."
"Okay!" Ella hung up
Amalie quickly logged onto Skype. In no time the call came.
"Amalie. You look good..going out?"
"Yeah was heading out for dinner with a friend."
"Glad you are having a nice summer."
"All thanks to you."
"Okay so I have an offer for you. You've been one of my wonderful employees and I am glad I got to count on you for anything.. I want you to be the branch manager for the new branch opening in Miami. Myself and the board have sat on it and chosen you."
"Oh my Goodness."
"Its a good thing I know..but I don't want you to gibe a quick answer I would give you to this Sunday to give me a reply.. If you don't want it. Your job here is still here. Sunday."
"Yes Ella..I'll give you my reply by Sunday."
"Okay thats fine..have a nice dinner."
"Thanks." Ella hung up.
Amalie sat still shocked at what just happened a offer as a Branch manager.
Was she ready for all this. Amalie got back to getting ready for the open air movie. She was going to say yes after meeting up with Travis. Shed tell him about it and she was sure he'd be happy if she was gonna stay. She was ready to leave everything in LA and come live here.
Will she say Yes?
