"What happened to you hyung???!"
I asked Jaehyun.
He slowly walked into the house, covered in multiple burns and scrapes.
"It's nothing... I just saved some people and animals from a fire... Don't worry about me..."
He winced from the pain he felt, every time he took a step forward.
"I'm sorry hyung, but I'm not just gonna let you suffer from the pain you're feeling"
I gently grabbed his hand and snuck him to my room, despite his protesting.
It wouldn't help if the others saw him like this. It would only stress him out more, especially since he doesn't want us to worry about him or help him.
We thankfully made it to my room unnoticed, and I let him sit on my bed. I began healing him immediately after he got comfortable.
"Hey, Renjun-ah"
"Yeah hyung?"
"...Why are you always so nice to everyone? Even when someone insists that they don't want your help, or even if that person is trying to kill you, you still insist on helping them. Why...?"
He looked at me with a saddened expression, gently holding one of my hands.
"I just don't see the point in returning the same hate to people. I feel like helping anyone I can is the only way to go. If I went around being mean to everyone, I'd feel empty, without a purpose. It would feel like there's no point to it after a while. But helping people... That feeling is just so fulfilling, and I want to continue to help people for a very long time...~"
"But... What if that ends up getting you killed one day...? I don't want that for you... I d-don't want to lose you Renjun......"
He gently held my face, and I saw a tear trickle down his cheek.
He really does care about me...
"...Even if that happens, I'll find a way back. I know that all of you will help me find my way back~"
I gently pet his head.
Despite how sad and worried he looked, he smiled a little and started purring.
"You're all healed up by the way. I'll go get you a drink and a snack"
I smiled softly.
"Ok...~"
I quickly left, so that I could return to him faster.
I got a glass of water and a peach, before quickly scurrying back to my room. But when I returned to him, he had fallen asleep on my bed as a black cat.
I knew he was really tired, so I gently laid him on my other pillow and covered him, receiving more purrs from him.
I got in bed next to him, to keep him company, and slowly drifted off to sleep with him.
"Sweet dreams hyung...~"
