Hwang Yeji's
I spent the whole night locked in my room, crying my heart out. I'm not gonna lie. Feeling her soft lips on mine was the most precious moment I've lived in my life that not even my past lover can level on. With Ryujin, everything is new, intense, exciting, butterflies, rainbows and unicorns, and all the stuffs I've only dreamed of having. Now that it's here under a different circumstance, I feel stucked. Hyunjin in the picture and every photograph in the future seems blurry.
My eyes are puffy as I was walking towards the cafeteria with my head down and hood covering most of my devastated state. I sniffed when 'How would you feel' came on my playlist, rapidly shuffling the songs that reminds me of her, but it's true I guess. When you're in love, every song will remind you of her and that sucks. I switched the genre and put it on hip hop, hoping to escape the rails of feelings surfacing within me, yet she's still there. Frustrated, I violently pulled out my earphones wincing when it stings my earlobe.
"Leave me alone!" I shouted. Looking up with a raging gaze, I noticed that I wasn't alone. Students stared at me with shock and fear due to my outburst. My eyes wandered, my face blushing in embarrassment. That's when I saw her. I felt weak and dizzy. As if she is water who tamed the fire raging inside of me. I felt a liquid dripping from the corner of my eyes and that's when I knew I am broken. I feel broken yet happy.
Have you ever felt that? Being happy yet broken?
That's exactly how I'm feeling right now. I know by the look on her face that she's mad at me for leaving her alone like that. Bags are visible under her eyes and I know I'm the reason for that., no explanations, no second looks. I hurt her. For the second time. Building up the last courage I could gather, I brought my foot forward after another, holding my gaze on hers. Please, stay. Don't look away. I chanted in my mind, hoping she can read my thoughts. But before I could get any closer to her, a hand held me by the shoulder turning me around.
She whispered, "Don't you dare." Noticing the flares striking from her visible seething presence. I gulped and slowly nodded, walking with her feeling dejected.
Shin Ryujin's POV
Watching someone you feel whole with walking away is something you wish would never happen. My heart shattering to pieces, once again, she didn't looked back. I know I did something - the kiss, but I didn't regret it. Not even a tiny bit, but if she's going to turn her back every time our eyes meet, I might start regretting everything soon. "What? You're just gonna stand there and not do anything?" Heejin asked making me frown even more. Sighing, she hugged me tightly swaying me side to side as I cried silently on her shoulders.
Heejin told me everything. Everything. I know my friends are hiding something. I know Hyunjin's plans and the reason why Yeji suddenly have a girlfriend when things are starting to bloom between us. When Heejin told me that Hyunjin is doing it because Yeji took something from her so she had to use her, I was enraged but I knew better. I know I got to be strong and not let Hyunjin take over us. I pity her for doing all the things forcefully and not just let the wheel take her life where it should be.
Hyunjin and Heejin are girlfriends in their group, until Heejin caught her so-called girlfriend having sex with another girl, but the devil doesn't know she got caught. One night, she came to my house discretely throwing rocks on my window, and that's when everything happened. Secrets are revealed to me and she told me Hyunjin has been using her the same way she's using Olivia and I. She also told me that there's still a missing piece to her conclusion and that's what we're trying to find out. Why does she have to use Olivia, Heejin, me, and Yeji as her girlfriend? Where does the puzzle leaves us?
"It's not like I can do something, Jin." I pulled away, wiping the tears that was smeared on my cheeks. Good thing I don't wear make-ups because that would make everything worst.
"Yes, you can." Placing a strand of hair behind my ear, smiling softly. "Tell her what we know. But we gotta act tough for now so Hyunjin wouldn't suspect anything."
Hwang Yeji's POV
"May I eat with you and your friends, babe?" The unexpected question caught me off guard.
"No!" I whisper-yelled, her eyes immediately darted towards me. Why am I even scared of this bitch? I sighed, "It's just- I don't think that's a good idea."
"I'm not even taking no for an answer. Let's go!" Dragging me by the hand, she raced her way inside sitting on one of the seats. My friends looked at me with shocked plastered on their faces, bodies are stiffed. Gulping, I put up my act. "Guys, uhm-" I sat beside Hyunjin, cringing as I bring one of my arms around her. "This is Hyunjin. My gir- girlfriend."
"I'm Hyunjin! Nice to meet all of you!"
A nudge brought me out of my daze, "I thought she already knows that we know her plans." Lia whispered. I subtly pinched her, sending the others a forced happy smile before turning to Lia.
"Of course she's gonna act like she doesn't, dumbass. So we will have to act to." Her eyes went wide in realization. She stood up hastily, bowing to Hyunjin and introduced herself. "I'm Lia. Nice to meet you." Hyunjin brought one of her hands in front asking for a hand shake which Lia didn't hesitated to accept. "I know who you are. Nice to meet you too." My face heated up when the thought of Lia being the first one to know the situation and now she's meeting Hyunjin face to face. I pushed their hands away, chuckling nervously. "Alright, too much skinship. That's my girlfriend."
The rest of them got the signal and started introducing themselves, while I look down fidgeting on the lace of my blouse. A tiny voice brought my head upwards, noticing Heejin and Ryujin smiling softly at us. What didn't left my eyes was the death glare she sent Hyunjin when the latter wasn't looking. Furrowing my eyebrows, What was that? Is she jealous? I thought. They sat parallel to Hyunjin and I. Adding to my shitful feeling, Ryujin sat in front of me, studying my face with her famous cold gaze. I need the warm Ryujin, not this cold one.
"Hey." I whispered directly at her, closing my lips tightly after, anticipating for a nice feedback. Instead of getting a verbal answer, she just nodded and turned her head towards Heejin, who smiled softly at her, ruffling her hair. I scoffed gaining attention from Hyunjin who was busy eating her burger. "Why? Do you like some?" I was about to shake my head "no", but I felt her eyes on me. I know this is childish, but I'm just jealous and I want to know if somehow she feels the same way about Hyunjin and I.
"Sure." Hyunjin happily brought the burger near my mouth. The scene felt familiar. My thoughts became blurry for a few seconds when I remembered the times Ryujin and I would share the same foods. Shaking the thought, I leaned forward grabbing a bite, eyes focused on the burger. I tasted the savory flavor in my mouth. It's good. I gave her a small smile, then she leaned forward. I watched her curiously as she gets closer and closer, and before I could react, her tongue poked the corner of my lips making my eyes wider. I sat frozen, not moving a single muscle, not breathing. She pulled away, smirking. "Sorry, babe. You just got something on the corner of your lips. I just wiped it off."
I inhaled and forgot that I still have the burger in my mouth, I began choking. Three hands pushed their drinks on me, looking up I saw Hyunjin's apologetic face, Ryujin's worried face, and Lia who's trying so hard not to laugh at my situation. Lia was about to pull it away when I aggressively snatched it from her hands, chugging down the water, sighing and muttering my appreciation after. "Phew." I huffed, clutching my throat afterwards.
The rest of my friends cracked in laughter same as Heejin, while Hyunjin just shook her head. However, Ryujin's pouting face didn't left my sight. I looked down and find what she's staring at and only to find the mocha milk she was willingly giving me earlier. Oh, c'mon what is she cute for?
I slid my hand over the table and I watched her eyes diverted to my sudden movements. "May I have some?" She stared at me with her jaw dropping making me bite my lip as I stop myself from gushing on how adorable she looks. I frowned when I didn't get a response from her. I saw Heejin pinch her side, wincing she gave the latter a slight smack on her forearm.
Ryujin looked at me shyly and nodded slowly. I took the drink from her and placed the straw between my lips, sucking the milk, my eyes not leaving her dilating one. Her throat bobbed up and down, her lips slightly parted. I took out my lips from the liquid and pushed it back at her, smirking. "Yum"
"I thought I was watching some porn shit." Yuna unashamedly spoke. In return, Jeongyeon threw her a piece of bread she was eating. My face fell off when Ryujin is back with her poker face giving me a look I couldn't quite explain, though her cheeks were tainted. Leaning forward, she used her fingers to make a gesture for me to come closer and that's what I did. With a little hesitation, I inched closer, her mouth near my ear, she whispered, "Don't do it again. It's not funny."
Right.
