Sunday, December 27, 1968...
I woke up. Ponyboy was spooning me. He had his arm wrapped around my stomach. I sighed and really didn't wanna get up. There wasn't anything special today. But we had to wake up. We were leaving today. And it was already late. "Fuck!" I groaned as I looked at the clock.
"What's wrong?" Pony groaned. "If we don't leave in 10 minutes we're not gonna make it in time back home for Tuesday." I sighed. "So what? We can stay here an extra night." Pony shrugged as he wrapped me in his arms. "Okay I'll tell them that we're not ready." I said as I reached over to the phone. I dialed Darry's cabin. After the third ring, the other line picked up. "Hello?" It was Darry. "Hey Dar, Pony and I forgot to pack." I said. He sighed. "What's wrong?" I heard Johnny's mufled voice ask. Darry explained. "Damn, what where they doing? Having sex?" Two-bit teased. I turned red. "No Two-bit. I fell asleep early. I was tired." I said answering his question.
Darry told Two-bit and he just laughed. "Alright, we're gonna leave then. I'll see you guys on wednesday." Darry said. He hung up. I placed the phone in it's spot. I sighed as I turned around and saw Pony asleep. He looked so peaceful. Like nothing could harm him. He looked much younger. I caressed his cheek with my fingertips. He slowly stirred awake again. I pecked a kiss on his lips. He smiled and embraced me in a hug.
"What should we do?" He asked. I looked at him for a minute. Then I got an idea. "Grab all of your clothes and pack. I have a great idea." I said. He looked at me with confusion in his eyes. But he didn't question. He got up and got his things ready. I did the bed and got everything ready. I got dressed while Ponyboy was packing his last things. He got dressed too. "Okay. Where are we going?" He asked as we got out to my car. "You'll see." I said as I put the suitcases in the trunk and got on.
We started heading out for the main city area in Portland. "Tell me how to get to Seaside." I said to Pony. He looked at the map. "Okay" He smiled.
