Emily released a heavy sigh as she stepped her black ankle boots out into the chilly air of Mystic Falls and protectively wrapped her arms around her matching coat. The Gilbert girl glanced up to the cloudy sky with a frown permanently embedded all over her face from her furrowed eyebrows, dull green eyes, and her usually happy smile turned upside down.
Emily was honestly a nervous wreck about her best friends currently in the possession of the feared hybrid - especially after meeting Klaus and seeing how much evil he holds by just looking into his blue-green irises. It also didn't really help that she couldn't even help find the werewolf and the vampire herself like she was used to doing. Emily never liked to sit on the side lines when it came to things like this in Mystic Falls - especially when it involved people she cared deeply about.
However, before Emily could dwell too much on their current predicament with the feared hybrid, she was soon interrupted when she felt a familiar pair of cold arms engulf her into a tight and loving embrace. The Gilbert girl couldn't help but immediately melt into the hug as she instantly wrapped her small hands around her boyfriend's neck and pushed her forehead into his cool chest.
The younger Salvatore held his girlfriend like that for a minute or two but when Stefan felt the Gilbert girl's shaky breath hitting against his collarbone, Stefan slowly pulled away and placed his hands on either side of Emily's reddened face. Stefan stared directly into the human Petrova doppelganger's green eyes with his brows pulled together in worry for his girlfriend as he could tell that something was bothering her. "Are you okay?" Stefan gently questioned as he rubbed his rough thumb across Emily's soft cheek.
The Gilbert girl stared up at Stefan for a solid minute as she bit down on her bottom lip before she decided that it was best to not tell Stefan about what was going on with her best friends. Emily knew that the older Salvatore would be able to handle it without them with Alaric's help, so it wasn't like it was necessary to tell Stefan about it. Emily also decided to not tell her boyfriend because she wanted to be selfish for the first time in her life when this would be her last human day on Earth.
Emily just wanted to spend some alone time with the love of her life for the first time in forever before she would have to go face to face with the feared hybrid again, so instead of telling Stefan the truth, the Gilbert girl shot her boyfriend a small smile before she murmured, "it's just been a very long day."
Stefan slowly nodded his head in understanding as he continued to comfortingly rub his thumb across the Gilbert girl's cheek. The Salvatore vampire could only imagine how Emily was feeling right now - hell, he's been an emotional wreck for days now because of what tonight meant.
Stefan shot the human Petrova doppelganger a soft smile as he settled his hand around Emily's waist before he told her as he reminded his girlfriend about his promise that he had made this morning, "well, I hope I can make it better for you."
The Gilbert girl furrowed her brows for a moment from Stefan's words before her green eyes widened when she recalled that Stefan wanted to take her somewhere before the sacrifice. "Where exactly are you taking me?" Emily curiously wondered as the Salvatore vampire never did tell her where he wanted to go before she had decided to say goodbye to her loved ones.
Stefan released an amused chuckle from the fact that Emily wasn't exactly patient when it came to surprises as he wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder before he began to lead her towards his red 1963 Porsche. The Salvatore vampire stayed silent to Emily's disappointment as he opened up the passenger door and helped the Gilbert girl into her seat before he quickly rounded his vehicle and got into the drivers seat.
"Stef!" The human Petrova doppelganger couldn't help but whine to her boyfriend, who had a cheeky grin playing on his lips while he pulled away from the parking lot of Mystic Grill and down the road. Emily honestly couldn't stand surprises. She never did have the patience for them nor did she didn't like not knowing what was going on.
A sly smile instantly lifted onto Stefan's lips from the wines that were coming from his girlfriend. He found it absolutely hilarious how impatient she was. The Salvatore vampire briefly took his green eyes off of the road for a second as he decided to put Emily out of her misery. "Yes, Miss Gilbert?" Stefan teasingly inquired with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't, Miss Gilbert me!" Emily ordered with a loud groan escaping only a second later. The human Petrova doppelganger couldn't help but pout as she stared over at her boyfriend before she questioned with her arms crossed over her black top and matching coat, "where are we going, Mister?"
Stefan released a deep and amused chuckle before he glanced over to his girlfriend with a smirk lowly playing on his lips. "Do you really wanna know?" The Salvatore vampire teasingly questioned.
"Yes!" The Gilbert girl practically shouted out with her green eyes widened as her patience was slowly disappearing the longer she grew curious to where Stefan was taking her.
The Salvatore vampire let out one last amused chuckle before he grabbed ahold of his restless girlfriend's hand and gave it a small squeeze. Stefan shot the Gilbert girl a soft smile before he told her, "I wanted to do something special for you." The Salvatore vampire focused his green eyes back on the road as he continued to drive through the forest of Mystic Falls before he commented, "I have come to realize that we haven't went on our first date yet."
Emily silently nodded her head as she realized that was, in fact, true. The thought on going on dates honestly had slipped Emily's mind ever since she found out about vampires. "Well, yeah," the Gilbert girl began before she joked, "but it's kind of difficult to go on dates when everyone wants to kill or sacrifice me."
Stefan immediately looked over to his girlfriend with a frown embedded all over his face. "That's not funny," the Salvatore vampire mumbled as her words reminded him of what going to happen tonight. It wasn't like Stefan wasn't already thinking about the sacrifice, it just didn't help that Emily was making a joke out of it when it was her life on the line.
The Gilbert girl instantly felt bad for being insensitive to Stefan's feelings as she knew that tonight had been affecting him as well. So, Emily gave the Salvatore vampire a silent apology as she squeezed his hand before she decided to focus onto the conversation before she had ruined it with her dark jokes.
"Where exactly do you expect to have a date at one in the afternoon?" Emily curiously inquired after she had glanced at the small clock on the dashboard. The Gilbert girl then paused as she glanced outside of the car and realized that they were in the middle of nowhere. Emily glanced back to her boyfriend before she continued with her question as she added in an amused tone, "and in the woods?"
Stefan gave the Gilbert girl's hand a thankful squeeze back from the fact that she wasn't talking about the sacrifice before he shot Emily a wide grin. "Well, this isn't just any ole first date, babe," the Salvatore vampire commented before he told the Gilbert girl with excitement ringing throughout his voice, "this is going to be the ultimate perfect first date."
The Gilbert girl couldn't help but immediately blush beet red from Stefan's explanation of what they were going to be doing. "You don't have to do all that," Emily murmured as she lightly waved her hand that wasn't currently locked with the vampire's colder one. No one had ever put in much effort on dates with her before, so it was surprising that Stefan was going to do that.
Stefan immediately shook his head before he stated with a soft smile playing on his face, "you deserve nothing but the best." The Salvatore vampire quickly leaned over and placed a soft kiss onto Emily's cheek to show his appreciation for his girlfriend. "I want to do something for you that will overshadow all the bad that will take place tonight," Stefan explained as to why that he picked right now for their first date.
"I don't want you to think of this day as the day where you died - as temporarily as it may be," the Salvatore vampire stated as he shot his girlfriend a soft smile. "I want today to be filled with happiness and strength that you will look back on today and realize just how much this changed you for the better," Stefan concluded his little speech before he placed another sweet but quick kiss onto the human girl's soft lips.
Emily's heart couldn't help but immediately turn into mush at her boyfriend's plan for her last moment as a human. It meant absolutely the world to the Gilbert girl that Stefan was going through so much trouble for her to make sure that her ending as a human was going to be perfect and meaningful.
"I love you so so much," Emily softly murmured after a moment of collecting herself as she gazed her bright green irises over at the Salvatore vampire with love in her teary eyes as she showed her boyfriend how much she appreciated what he was doing and how much she cared for him.
The Salvatore vampire's soft and relax smile immediately turned into a full blown bright grin before he, once again, placed a quick kiss onto Emily's lips. Stefan then swiftly focused his green eyes back onto the road - so he didn't end up crashing the car - before he teasingly told the Gilbert girl, "but I'm still not going to tell you where we are going."
Emily instantly released a loud groan - that they both knew was coming - but this time it was filled with nothing but love and amusement instead of actual annoyance - despite the fact that she was a very impatient girl. However, instead of complaining about it, Emily only smiled over to her loving boyfriend before she gently leaned her head onto the window of Stefan's red Porsche while she peacefully watched as they passed by the bright green plants and colorful flowers with Stefan's hand rested on her thigh.
Emily felt absolutely at peace at the moment when it was just her, Stefan, and nature surrounding them. It was like Emily didn't have to worry about any hybrids or vampires coming after her for the time being. Emily felt like she could actually breathe without having to look over her shoulder. This is it, Emily thought in content with a soft smile playing on her lips, this is all I need in life.
The Salvatore vampire and the Gilbert girl drove through the woody part of Mystic Falls for about another twenty or so minutes while they just enjoyed each other's company and comfort before Stefan finally pulled his red Porsche to a slow stop. "Here we are," Stefan announced as he gave the human girl's thigh a small squeeze to alert her to their arrival before he removed his hand to turn off the vehicle.
The human Petrova doppelganger barely even had time to blink awake from her extremely short nap before she realized that she was suddenly swept off of her feet by her vampire boyfriend, who had used his enhanced speed to plant her softly down onto the dirt covered driveway. However, though, once Emily finally got her bearings from her nap and the vampire speed, the Gilbert girl's green eyes instantly widened in amazement because of where Stefan had brought her to.
"Wow," Emily quietly mumbled in a soft voice as she gazed her bright irises at the beautiful two-story brick cottage that was surrounded by a colorful garden which was filled with different colored and types of flowers that the Gilbert girl didn't even know the name of half of them. The place was absolutely gorgeous that Emily thought she was still asleep and dreaming about a magical fairy-tale.
"What do you think?" The Salvatore vampire inquired after he gave Emily a few minutes to herself as he lightly tossed his arm over the Gilbert girl's shoulder and pulled her closer into his chest before he silently placed a soft and loving kiss onto Emily's temple.
"It's beautiful," Emily whispered as if she was afraid that she would spook the small birds that were settled inside of the ivory angel bath a few feet away from them. The Gilbert girl moved her green eyes up to her boyfriend before she curiously questioned, "how did you find this place?" Emily shook her head as she commented, "I didn't even know this place existed in Mystic Falls."
"I found it when I first came back," Stefan began as he slowly led the Gilbert girl towards the front door of the cottage with his arm still wrapped around Emily's shoulders so she was pressed into his chest. "I had called Zach a few days prior to, you know, give him a heads-up that I was coming to the boarding house," Stefan explained, "but Zach had recently been letting this new family stay there for the weekend and he didn't exactly trust me at the time, so I ended up finding this place and staying here until the family left."
Emily silently nodded her head in understanding as she remembered that Zach wasn't really a fan of Stefan nor Damon coming back to Mystic Falls back then. "But wait," the Gilbert girl mumbled in confusion before she uttered as Stefan unlocked the door to the cottage, "this place isn't exactly that close to town." Emily shot her boyfriend a small, teasing smile before she wondered as she placed her black purse down onto the small table just inside of the foyer, "why didn't you find a place closer?"
The Salvatore vampire lightly shrugged his shoulders as he helped Emily out of her long black coat and hung it on the rack before he linked their fingers together and slowly led the human girl out of the foyer. "I guess I liked how quiet it was out here," Stefan explained as to why he picked the cottage, "I didn't need to worry about my urges when I was only surrounded by flowers, trees, and innocent animals."
Emily shot her boyfriend a wide smirk as she teased him, "you mean the innocent animals that you killed?"
The Salvatore vampire released a deep and throaty chuckle as he shook his head in amusement. "I didn't kill them," Stefan corrected his girlfriend before he told the Gilbert girl what he told her when she first found out about his vampirism, "I just drank a little bit of their blood to keep them and myself going."
Emily leaned up on her tippy toes and placed a soft and quick kiss onto her boyfriend's lips to make for teasing him before she focused back onto their main conversation. "So, why didn't you stay here if you liked it so much?" The Gilbert girl wondered as she could tell from Stefan's voice and how comfortable he was in the cottage that he liked to be here. It was honestly the most calm that she had seen Stefan in a long time.
The Salvatore vampire trailed his rough and cold thumb across Emily's smooth and warm hand as he pulled her to a stop in front of the two wooden doors that would lead them into the kitchen. "Well, I originally came to Mystic Falls to find Katherine's doppelganger, as you already know," Stefan began his story before he smiled softly at his girlfriend as he added, "but then I saw you."
Stefan gave the Gilbert girl's hand a short squeeze before he continued with a loving sparkle to his forest colored eyes, "I did plan on leaving Mystic Falls or at least come back here after I saw and realized that Elena wasn't actually Katherine." The Salvatore vampire shot his girlfriend a soft smile before he murmured, "but when I saved you guys that night at the bridge. I wasn't completely positive that Elena wasn't Katherine just playing one of her games, so I went to school to make sure that she was just Katherine's doppelganger."
"But then," Stefan murmured with love practically pouring from his body as he stated, "I ended up bumping into you and I just couldn't get myself to leave after, officially, meeting you and getting to know such a sweet and kind person." The Salvatore vampire brought Emily's hand to his lips and placed a soft kiss onto her skin before he murmured, "I felt like I had to know you and when I did, I knew I wasn't going anywhere."
Well, there goes my heart, Emily thought to herself with a bright smile shining all across her face as she felt like she was falling more in love with the Salvatore vampire from his confession that she never knew about. The Gilbert girl leaned up and placed a soft kiss onto her boyfriend's lips before she joked once she had pulled away, "well, I'm sorry I stopped you from ever coming here again."
Stefan released a small chuckle as he shook his head. "It's okay," the Salvatore vampire uttered as he glanced around the cottage with a content smile playing on his lips. "This place will always be here in the future for us if we ever want it," Stefan slyly murmured as he placed his sparkling green irises back onto his girlfriend.
Emily rose her right eyebrow with amusement shining throughout her own green eyes. The Gilbert girl twitched her head to the side as she curiously wondered what the Salvatore vampire was thinking, "do you think this could be our home someday?"
Stefan smiled softly at the love of his life before he quietly murmured, "maybe." The Salvatore vampire instantly noticed Emily's surprised expression, so he decided to not give the human girl a chance to say anything more on the far future topic as he silently pushed open the double doors that leads to the kitchen before he walked Emily inside with his hand rested lowly on her back.
"Wow," the Gilbert girl immediately gaped once she fully entered the kitchen and saw how beautiful it was with the round cherry wood table and the matching chairs that looked like they were fit for a happy family along with the white and baby blue tiles along the walls that looked like they were straight out a home magazine from the seventies.
However, what caught Emily's attention the most, though, was what was laid nicely out onto the round table in front of her. The Gilbert girl took a few steps closer as she gazed at all of her favorite foods - juicy cubed pineapples, creamy shrimp carbonara, soft peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, crispy fried avocados, and much more of her favorite things. Emily knew they were a very strange combination together but she was absolutely happy to see them right now.
The Gilbert girl slowly turned around and faced Stefan once she was finished gazing at all of the delicious foods with a soft smile playing on her lips. "What's all this?" Emily curiously wondered as she pointed her hand back towards the spread of food.
The Salvatore vampire shot the human girl a wide grin as he walked a few steps closer before he silently placed his hand onto Emily's back and lead her to the first chair and pulled it out for her. "I thought you would appreciate in being surrounded by some of your favorite things for a little while before tonight gets here," Stefan answered the Gilbert girl's question as he walked around the table and sat across from his girlfriend. Stefan lightly shrugged his shoulders before he murmured as he gazed lovingly at Emily, "I know it's not much like a trip to Paris but I wanted you to have one last happy memory of your human life."
The Gilbert girl instantly reached across the round table and grabbed ahold of Stefan's hand. "This is absolutely perfect," Emily assured her boyfriend with a happy smile playing all across her face. "I love this so much," Emily expressed as she glanced at all of the food. "I have the love of my life in front me," the Gilbert girl began in a passionate voice before she took a short pause then added teasingly as pointed towards her boyfriend, "and, of course, I have you."
Stefan playfully rolled his green eyes at the human girl across from him as he released a small but amusing chuckle at her little joke. "Eat your food," the Salvatore vampire lightly ordered as he couldn't help the second chuckle that soon followed after as he enjoyed the playfulness that Emily had right now with no worries on her mind at the moment.
Emily shot her boyfriend a cheeky grin before she murmured, "yes, sir." The Gilbert girl then immediately began to dig into all of her favorite foods by starting with the big fat peanut butter chocolate chip cookie that had been calling her name since the second that she had laid her eyes on it.
The Salvatore vampire only sat there as he watched his girlfriend munch on the spread of foods with a soft smile playing on his lips from seeing how carefree Emily was being for the first time in a long time. It was honestly all that Stefan wanted for the human girl, so he was glad that he could help her relax and just be herself for a little while.
It took Emily a solid fifteen minutes of stuffing her face with delicious foods before she finally took notice that the Salvatore vampire was just watching her eat like a pig. The Gilbert girl couldn't help but blush beet red as she slowly placed the fried avocado back onto the plate before she asked Stefan with a hint of confusion and embarrassment in her voice, "aren't you going to eat?"
Stefan slowly shook his head with that same soft smile still dancing across his lips. "I'm in content right where I am," the Salvatore vampire gently murmured as he continued to gaze across at the love of his life.
Emily looked across at her boyfriend with her brunette eyebrows pulled together as if she was suspicious of something. "Stop being weird," the Gilbert girl ended up mumbling as she tried to fight through the blush that she could feel heating up her face from finding out that Stefan had been watching her eat.
The Salvatore vampire just couldn't help the full on laugh that escaped from his mouth as he watched Emily's embarrassed expression for a solid three whole minutes before he decided to put her out of her misery. "Alright, fine," Stefan muttered before he grabbed a piece of fruit from the table and popped the cube of pineapple into his mouth. Stefan rose his right eyebrow at the human girl once he had swallowed the fruit before he teasingly wondered, "happy?"
Emily shook her head with a chuckle slipping through her lips as she watched her boyfriend's comical act. "Very," the Gilbert girl exclaimed with a soft giggle before she herself grabbed a silver fork from the table and began to dig into another meal which was the very creamy and delicious shrimp carbonara.
Stefan, once again, watched his girlfriend eat the seafood pasta for a few minutes of tranquility before he decided that it was finally time to talk about the elephant in the room. "So," the Salvatore vampire slowly began before he asked in a gentle voice as to not spook the Gilbert girl, "are you ready to talk about how you're feeling about tonight?"
The Gilbert girl released a heavy sigh as she gently placed down the silver fork onto the table before she gradually looked into Stefan's gentle green eyes. "Well, I certainly didn't think this would all end with me becoming the strongest witch existence, so there's that," Emily mumbled with a tint of humor in her voice. Emily lightly shrugged her shoulders before she grew serious as she uttered, "honestly, I'm still in complete shock to even know what I really feel."
Stefan gently shook his head with a tiny smile playing on his lips before he murmured, "I think you do know how you feel." The Salvatore vampire brought Emily's hand up to his lips and placed a soft kiss on it before he softly assured his girlfriend, "I just want you to know that it's okay to tell me. It's okay to tell me how you're feeling. You know I will always support you no matter what it is, baby."
Emily shot the Salvatore vampire a small and watery smile before she began to utter, "I...I know. I know that -"
However, the Gilbert girl had to pause in the middle of her statement as she could immediately feel the warm tears building in the ducks of her green eyes when she thought about how she was feeling about the sacrifice tonight - which also made Emily recall what happened earlier today with her two best friends in the entire world.
"Hey," the Salvatore vampire softly called out as he could see the strong emotions practically rolling off the Gilbert girl's body. Stefan used his vamp speed when Emily didn't answer to him and rounded the table before he bent down so he was eye level with his girlfriend. Stefan gently placed his hand onto the Gilbert girl's warm cheek so she would look at him before Stefan softly questioned with worry shining through his green irises, "what's going on?"
Emily tried to control her emotions as best as she could but that didn't really happen as quiet sobs instantly slipped from her lips once she opened her mouth. It took the Gilbert girl a few minutes to even speak through her tears but when she did, she could only mumble out, "s-something happened earlier."
The Salvatore vampire continued to rub his cold thumb along Emily's warm cheek while he caught a few wet tears every now and again before Stefan gently asked as he hoped to not upset the human girl even more than she already was, "what was it?"
"K-Klaus. H-He took Caroline and Tyler," the Gilbert girl had to force through her lips as she tried to hold in the sobbing that she wanted to let flow now that she was thinking of her best friends and what had happened earlier at Mystic Park along with how helpless that she felt from not being able to save two of the most important people in her life.
Stefan instantly furrowed his brows in confusion from the Gilbert girl's words. "Tyler's back in Mystic Falls?" The Salvatore vampire wondered in puzzlement for only a moment before he realized what had actually happened besides the fact of Emily's best friend returning back to town. "Did Klaus see you? Did he try to hurt you?" Stefan hurriedly questioned as he was completely anxious about what kind of interaction that the human girl had with the hybrid, who wanted to sacrifice her.
Emily sluggishly shook her head before she mumbled, "n-no. It was just these two witches who are working for him." The Gilbert girl ultimately decided that it was probably best to not tell Stefan that she did, in fact, end up running into Klaus right before he picked her up as she knew Stefan would just worry even more about her and she didn't want that.
"Did they do something to you?" The Salvatore vampire continued to interrogate as he was still worried about the human girl's interaction with the hybrid's witches - not to mention the fact that they were currently missing a werewolf and a vampire from their group of supernatural beings.
Emily briefly closed her green eyes and took a deep breath as she, once again, tried to get ahold of her emotions before she recalled what the hybrid's witch had told her before they had left with her two best friends, "they just said that Klaus would be back for me later."
Stefan silently nodded his head as he absorbed this new information along with being understanding about what the witches spoke about since everyone knew that Klaus would be coming for Emily as the full moon would happen tonight. The Salvatore vampire could only watch his girlfriend cry for a few seconds before he quickly pulled his cell phone out as he wanted to help the stressed doppelganger. "Everything's going to be okay," Stefan tried to assure the Gilbert girl before he told Emily as he knew that she was worried about the duo, "I'll give Damon a call to see if he can go look for Caroline and Tyler."
The Gilbert girl immediately placed her hand on top of Stefan's cell phone once she realized what he was about to do. "No need," Emily mumbled as she shook her head. "He's already on it," the human Petrova doppelganger explained before she murmured as she looked up at boyfriend with tears clouding her green irises, "I...I just need you right now."
Stefan's unbeating heart completely broke at the sight of his usually bright girlfriend as she was mentally breaking down in front of him. The Salvatore vampire wanted to comfort Emily and make her feel better so Stefan quickly stood up as he pulled the human Petrova doppelganger with him before he wrapped his arms protectively around her body. "I'm right here," Stefan whispered against the Gilbert girl's temple as he tried to help her calm down, "I got you."
The couple of the Salvatore vampire and the Gilbert girl stood there for a few minutes in one another's arms as Stefan comforted his girlfriend and Emily absorbed all of her boyfriend's love. However, though, once Stefan could hear the Gilbert girl's breathing returning back to normal and her heart wasn't about to pound out of her chest, the Salvatore vampire gently whispered to his girlfriend, "come on. I wanna show you something."
The Gilbert girl slowly peeled herself away from Stefan's chest before she looked up at her boyfriend with a look of confusion and curiousness. "What is it?" Emily questioned as she wondered what Stefan had to show her that she hadn't already seen and why it seemed important at the moment.
Stefan shot his girlfriend a wide grin before he murmured, "you'll see." The Salvatore vampire didn't allow the Gilbert girl to question him anymore as he swiftly linked their fingers together before he lead Emily through the kitchen and through the back door that lead to the backyard. Stefan still didn't say anything as he continued to pull his girlfriend down the brick pathway and into the vast forest.
"You aren't planning to kill me before the sacrifice even happens, right?" The Gilbert girl could't help but jokingly question after a few minutes of Stefan pulling her through the forest that was behind the beautiful cottage as she realized just how deep they were going into the wooded area.
Stefan knew that the human Petrova doppelganger was just using her humor to cope with her looming death and witch status, so he didn't scold her like he usually would when she would joke about the sacrifice. Instead, the Salvatore vampire released a small chuckle as he teasingly uttered, "I guess you'll just have to wait and see."
The Gilbert girl instantly released a loud groan when she didn't get an absolute answer that she wanted as she wasn't exactly the most patient person on Earth. However, luckily for Emily, she didn't have to wait much longer before the Salvatore vampire slowly pulled her to a stop in front of a large clearing in the dead center of the forest.
"Wow," Emily couldn't help but mumble for probably the third time since she had been at the cottage as she gazed her green irises at the meadow in front of her that was a bed of beautiful purple, pink, and blue flowers. "This is gorgeous," the Gilbert girl murmured with a soft smile playing on her lips as she had never seen something so colorful and had such a calm atmosphere.
"I agree," Stefan uttered with a small nod of his head before he suddenly and swiftly twisted the Gilbert girl in his arms so she was pressed against his chest. The Salvatore vampire then slowly began to move him and his girlfriend in a slow dance before he softly murmured, "but I think I know something that is even more gorgeous."
The human Petrova doppelganger couldn't help the child-like giggle that escaped her lips from Stefan's fast movements and his sweet words. However, when Emily noticed why the Salvatore vampire had pulled her closely and realized that they were basically dancing, she couldn't help but to be puzzled by it. "What are you doing?" Emily curiously inquired.
Stefan rose his left eyebrow as he stared down at his girlfriend with a soft smile. "What does it look like?" The Salvatore vampire teasingly questioned before he slowly twirled Emily underneath his arm and stated, "I'm dancing."
Emily shook her head as she let out a small and amused chuckle. The Gilbert girl rested her left hand onto Stefan's shoulders as she commented for the reason of her questioning, "you don't dance." Emily, ever since she had known Stefan, knew that her boyfriend didn't exactly enjoy dancing so it was surprising for him to start it off instead of her like she had done many of times in the past.
Stefan lightly shrugged his shoulders before he murmured with that still in-love smile playing on his lips, "I know but it's worth it when I get to see this beautiful expression on your face." The Salvatore vampire would take all of the stars from the sky if it meant to see Emily smile at him like she was doing now, so that was why he pulled her into a little slow dance as he knew she would enjoy it and at least forget about the troubles in their lives for a little bit.
The Gilbert girl couldn't help the beet red blush that rose onto her cheeks for the second time today from Stefan's sweet words. Emily hated to show her rosy cheeks, so she hid her face into her boyfriend's chest before she wrapped her arms around Stefan's waist as they slowly danced. "You know," Emily began after a moment of listening to the Salvatore vampire chuckling at her embarrassment before she stated to get the attention off of her, "we're missing music."
Stefan gently shook his head before he whispered against the Gilbert girl's temple, "we don't need music." The Salvatore vampire twirled Emily underneath his arm, once more, before he murmured as he continued to move their bodies side to side in the middle of the meadow, "your heartbeat is all I need."
Emily released an amused giggle as she looked up at her boyfriend before she teasingly murmured, "you're so sappy." The Gilbert girl brought her right hand and playfully squeezed Stefan's pale cheek before she added with a wide grin spreading quickly all across her face, "but I love it and I love you."
The Salvatore vampire couldn't stop the equally wide and happy grin that rose onto his face even if he tried as he gazed down at his girlfriend with only adoration shining through his green irises. "I love you, too," Stefan murmured back before he leaned down and placed a passionate kiss onto the Gilbert girl's soft lips.
The duo of the Salvatore vampire and the Gilbert girl continued to slowly dance with one another for quite some time - that the couple didn't even know much time had passed by - before Stefan gradually pulled them to a stop so they were standing face to face. The Salvatore vampire brought his right hand up to Emily's cheek, like she had previous done to him, and rubbed the side of her face while he softly gazed into her green irises.
"You mean the absolute world to me," Stefan began his speech that he had prepared for this moment, "you can't even begin to understand how much you have affected me and my life. You have brought so much more meaning to my life than I ever thought was possible." The Salvatore vampire briefly paused as he slipped his left hand into the pocket of his dark jeans before he continued, "I feel like we haven't had enough time together."
Stefan released a small chuckle before he added, "frankly, I don't think that feeling will ever go away." The Salvatore vampire smiled softy at Emily before he continued with his speech, "I want to spend as much time in love with you as possible, so if you want go with this plan then I'm completely on board."
Stefan slowly pulled his hand out of his pocket before he showed the Gilbert girl what he had - the small vial that Elijah had brought to the boarding house. "I trust your judgement," the Salvatore vampire softly assured Emily and showed her that he was completely on her side and her choice of survival, "I will support you and help you in anyway that I can through this new journey in your life."
Emily absolutely appreciated the Salvatore vampire's words but at the moment, her green and teary eyes were zoned onto the vial of magical properties that would change her life forever. The Gilbert girl slowly and cautiously brought her hand up and took the awaiting vial with a slight nervousness to her movements.
Emily had honestly come to terms with becoming a witch - despite her nervousness - and the Salvatore vampire's words definitely helped make her feel more confident in her choice but the Gilbert girl just couldn't help but feel anxious about actually becoming a witch and what could happen afterwards. However, Emily knew this was her only option and that she would have to figure out how to keep herself from going out of control like the other witches when the time came, so Emily took a deep breath as she prepared herself for her new life.
The Gilbert girl pushed away all of the nervousness that she felt as she slowly took the top off of the vial before she confidently pushed the magical properties down her throat and swallowed it all in one go. Emily honestly didn't know what she was expecting when she downed the potion but she definitely wasn't expecting the metal like taste that it left behind in her throat. "Ugh," the Gilbert girl groaned as she grimaced, "that is the worst taste in the world."
The Salvatore vampire couldn't help but chuckle as he watched his girlfriend's face turn sour. "I don't think it's supposed to taste good, babe," Stefan lightheartedly uttered as he gently took the vial out of the Gilbert girl's hand and silently placed it back into the front pocket of his jeans.
Emily lightly shrugged her shoulders once she finally got over the taste of the magic potion before she jokingly uttered as she shot the Salvatore vampire a small grin, "they could at least make it enjoyable."
Stefan shook his head with a soft smile playing on his lips from just the fact that the Gilbert girl could find the humor in anything - even when her life was currently doing a complete one-eighty. The Salvatore vampire slowly took a few steps closer towards Emily before he placed his hand gently onto her cheek. "You're so brave," Stefan softly murmured, "and I am so proud of you, baby."
Stefan leaned down and pulled the Gilbert girl into a short but meaningful kiss before he stood back up and continued to show his support for his girlfriend, "everything is going to alright, I promise you." The Salvatore vampire rubbed the side of Emily's face as he murmured, "I know this scary but I'm going to be right by your side the entire time. I know you are worried that you will hurt someone while being a witch but don't. I will follow you every second of every day if that is what you want."
Stefan pressed a gentle kiss onto the Gilbert girl's forehead as he breathed in her comforting scent before he whispered against Emily's warm skin, "I just want to watch you be happy again after this is all over with. You deserve the world and I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to make sure that you get to experience everything that you have ever hoped for."
Emily couldn't help but shake her head in disbelief and amazement from her boyfriend's sweet and assuring words. "I don't deserve you," the Gilbert girl mumbled before she pushed herself onto her tippy toes and pulled Stefan into a long and passionate kiss to show her appreciation.
However, Emily had to pull away after a few minutes when she couldn't breathe. She, instead, settled for wrapping her arms tightly around Stefan's neck as she gazed at the love of her life before she softly murmured, "it means the world to me that you are willing to trust me and follow my lead. I honestly can't thank you enough."
The Salvatore vampire gently shook his head before he placed a sweet kiss onto Emily's soft lips. "You don't have to thank me," Stefan stated as there was no reason to. Stefan never wanted the Gilbert girl to be thankful for his actions. He just wanted Emily to live the happiest life that she could and that would be enough for him.
"But..." Emily trailed off as her right hand slowly moved down from the Salvatore vampire's neck until it lightly settled against the cold button of Stefan's jeans before the Gilbert girl questioned with a slight seduction to her voice, "what if I did want to thank you, though?"
Emily wanted, no needed, to show her appreciation for all that Stefan had done for her, not only for everything that he done for her family and friends in the past, but for what he had done today during her last few hours as a human. The Gilbert girl knew her life was about to turn crazy and unpredictable after tonight, so she also just wanted to spend as much of her time with her loving and caring boyfriend as she could before their lives would turn upside down.
The Salvatore vampire couldn't help but release a throaty chuckle that sent vibrations through his chest once he understood what Emily's goal was but he definitely wasn't complaining if the deep arousal in his voice was anything to go by. "Well, I wouldn't want to deny you of your wish," Stefan teasingly murmured with a sly smirk playing on his lips before he tightly wrapped his hands around the Gilbert girl's waist and lifted her into the air.
Emily immediately wrapped her legs around her boyfriend's thin waist when she felt that her black ankle boots weren't touching the ground of the meadow any longer. The Gilbert girl then took her right hand away from Stefan's neck as she trusted that he wouldn't end up dropping her before Emily trailed her thumb gently across his cold cheek with a soft smile playing on her lips. "I love you so much," Emily murmured barely above a whisper before she placed her lips onto the Salvatore vampire's colder ones for a loving and passionate kiss.
The couple of the Salvatore vampire and the Gilbert girl kissed for a few minutes before Emily, of course, had to pull away so she could breathe. "You' re my everything," Emily began once she had caught her breath, "you are my sun, my moon, and my stars." The human Petrova doppelganger shot her boyfriend a soft smile before she murmured with tears clouding her green irises from all of her emotions building up, "you make my life so much better. I don't know how I will ever be able to thank you for everything that you have done for me, for my family, and my friends."
Stefan let his own soft smile rise onto his lips with tears also clouding his own pair of green eyes from the fact that he knew this could be the last time for awhile before they could have a moment like this. "I love you, too, baby. You are my world," the Salvatore vampire murmured before he pulled Emily back into another passionate kiss to show the love of his life just how much that he adored her.
This kiss, however, lasted a little bit longer than the previous one did with even more tension - the good and hot kind - growing between them. "I think I know how you can thank me, though," Stefan mentioned once he had slowly pulled back from their passionate embrace and watched as his girlfriend tried to catch her breath.
The Gilbert girl rose her right eyebrow as she twitched her head to the side out of curiousness to what the vampire had to say. "And what's that?" Emily inquired as she aimlessly played with the hairs on the back of her boyfriend's neck.
However, unlike what the Gilbert girl was expecting, Stefan didn't answer her right away. Instead, the Salvatore vampire slowly and silently unwrapped Emily's legs from around his waist while he also continued to hold eye contact with her through every step of the way. Once Emily's boots were planted onto the ground, Stefan slowly trailed his hand down the side of his girlfriend's body before he settled his hand at the dip of her back.
The Salvatore vampire placed a feather-like kiss onto Emily's lips as he put pressure onto her back before he carefully pushed her down onto the soft cloud of bright colored flowers that surrounded the meadow. Stefan wasn't too far behind as once Emily was laid back, the Salvatore vampire instantly settled his left knee between the Gilbert girl's thighs and placed his forearms on either side of her head.
"Just... Love me," the Salvatore vampire finally answered Emily's last question about what she could do to thank him in a quiet whisper while he looked down at her with adoration shining throughout his green irises. "Just be here with me and allow me to show you just how much you mean to me," Stefan murmured while he placed feather-like kisses along the Gilbert girl's chest after every few words.
"I...I think I can do that," Emily pushed the words through her lips as she tried to control her heart practically pounding out of her chest from the simplest of touches that the Salvatore vampire was doing to her body. It was affecting her so much since they have never shared a moment like this before. It was usually fast and passionate when they would have sex since they were always surrounded by people - whether it be, siblings, aunts, or friends.
However, this time, it was different, the Gilbert girl decided, as Stefan was moving slowly and carefully as he removed each layer of her clothing and kissed every inch of her body. It was love making and it just made Emily fall even more in love with the Salvatore vampire than she had thought was even possible.
