Dad- "I thought we figured this out stealing thing when you stole that necklace. Guess I was wrong"
Lissy- "Can we get this over with"?
Dad- "What's going on? You don't think that stealing is a very big deal"
Lissy- "I don't think this is a big deal. Your the one who is being unreasonable"
Dad- "Stealing is legal. It can end up really bad in the end"
Lissy- i just rolled my eyes "Let's get this punishment over with"
Dad- I had a different idea for a punishment for her. "Come with me"
Lissy- "Where"?
Dad- "Just come with me"
Lissy- "I don't want to"
Dad- "That wasn't a suggestion Allyssa"
Lissy- I got up and followed him. We ended up at the police station. "What are we doing here"?
Dad- "Since you think that stealing isn't a big deal then I will show you what happens when someone steals"
Lissy- "Huh"?
Dad- "You my daughter are going to spend 24 hours in jail"
Lissy- "You don't mean that"
Dad- "Oh I do Allyssa"
Lissy- "Dad your joking"
Dad- "I'm not joking Allyssa. I'm tired of your behavior"
Lissy- "You can't make me"
Dad- "Yes I can"
Duke- "How can I help you Steve"
Steve- "Im teaching Lissy what happens when you decide to steal and the consequences. She will be staying in a jail cell for 24 hours"
Duke- I nodded "I will be right back" i said as I went to the back room
Lissy- "Dad you can stop joking around"
Dad- "I'm being serious here Allyssa. You are going to learn a very valuable lesson tonight"
Lissy- "Please dont do this"
Dad- "I'm sorry Allyssa but grounding you or spanking you isnt working"
Lissy- "Please do one of those dont make me spend the night here"
Dad- "The arrangements are already being made"
Lissy- "Dad please"
Dad- "Duke is everything ready"? I asked when he came back
Duke- "Yes" I replied
Dad- "Ill be back in 24 hours"
Lissy- "Dad please dont leave me"!!
Dad- "Bye Lissy" I said
Lissy- "Dad"!
Dad- "I love you Lissy" I said as I kissed her
Lissy- "Please take me home"
Dad- "I'll be back in 24 hours Allyssa"
Duke- I then take her in the back while she was crying
-Back in the police station-
Duke- Steve informed me to do same process as if it was a real criminal except not actually putting her into the system but acting as if it was real. He also told me that he wanted Lissy in a cell that the safest and that I can keep an eye on her easily. No one was allowed near her except for me. "Do you have any weapons on you"? I asked her when we got into the back
Lissy- "No" I said in small cries
Duke- "Stand against the wall so we can take your picture"
Lissy- i did as told hoping that all of this was a dream but it wasn't.
Duke- After the picture we did a finger print then she was put into a cell for the night.
-Meanwhile-
Steve- After Lissy was brought to the back I went to my car and sat there and started to cry. I didn't want to do this but she had to learn what would happen if she kept on stealing. My heart broke when she was begging me not to leave her but i pushed that aside.
Steve- I stuck to the punishment that I had planned. My heart never been as heavy as it is right now. I drove home where I called Danny on the way back so that I can talk to him. I drive up and I see Danny waiting for me.
Danny- "How you holding up"? I asked when he got out
Steve- "Truthfully? Awful"
Danny- "You did what is best"
Steve- "What if she hates me"?
Danny- "I doubt that she hates you"
Steve- "You should've seen her, she kept on begging me not to leave her there" I said as we sat down on the lawn chairs in the backyard
Danny- "I'm proud of you. You had the guy to do this"
Steve- "My old man did that to me one time when I stole"
Danny- "Do you hate him"?
Steve- "No but it sure taught me a lesson"
Danny- "See then, Lissy won't hate you"
Steve- "It was really hard leaving her"
Danny- "I bet it was"
Steve- "This is going to be a long 24 hours of my life"
Danny- "At least you have me"
Steve- "Guess your right"
-A Very Very Long Twenty-Four Hours Later-
Steve- I went to go get Lissy from the police station the next morning. I see her walk out from the back and she runs to me. I hug her tightly.
Lissy- "I'm sorry for stealing Dad"
Dad- "I forgive you sweetie"
Lissy- "I won't steal ever again'
Dad- I know that she would steal in the future but I'm not planning to do this punsuhmet again on her. Kids make mistakes. "Lets hope not"
Lissy- "I love you"
Dad- "Love you too"
Lissy- I hug him even more
Dad- "Ready to go home"?
Lissy- "Yes"!
Dad- We walk out of the police station and went home. I was very happy to have my baby girl back with me.
