(Little oneshot while I work on Prince!Shuichi x Servant!Ouma)
Saihara thought he would never have a crush on anybody. However that all changed when he met him.
Kokichi Ouma.
Kokichi was a very peculiar soul. He was known for his trickster persona and annoying pranks which is why a lot of people in his class didn't like him. However ever Saihara's view on the boy was different. And it was all because of that one day during elementary school.

June 14th, Elementary School
"Ew!! Look at his eyes! They look scary!" One girl said pointing fingers at him. "Yeah! They're creeping the heck out of me. I bet he's a monster..." One of the boys said as he continued to kick Shuichi in the stomach. His bullies had cornered him in the alley behind the school. Shuichi curled up in a ball crying. Why does he have to suffer this? Why does he have to be bullied by others? He didn't choose to be born with blood red eyes, he didn't choose to be born with sharp fangs,
He didn't choose to be born a vampire.
"Yeah, he's a monster alright! Monster! Monster!" They continued to chant as they proceeded to beat the boy as if he was a training dummy. Shuichi cried louder. What did he do to deserve to be treated this way? WHY CAN'T THEY JUST ALL VANISH AND LEAVE HIM ALONE!? He cried when suddenly one bully got hit by something. "Ow! That hurt me! Who did this?!" He asked picking up what hit him. It was a small rock. Before anyone got the chance to say something he got hit with another. "Ow! Someone threw it at me too! Let's get out of here!" The girl yelled running away. Soon after they left a small purple-haired boy came out from hiding behind the corner of a wall. He was holding a slingshot and a few little rocks. He giggled slightly and then came up to Shuichi.
"Hey, are you okay? They didn't beat you that much right?" He asked holding out his hand. Shuichi looked at him scared and confused. "W-Were you the one who...?" he said as the boy nodded. "Yeah, those bastards had it coming. Anybody who hurts other people for no reason is a no-no for me!" He said with a giggle " It's against my organization's code. Also, my name's Ouma, what's yours?" he then added.
"M-Mine's S-Shuichi...B-But they did hurt me for a r-reason...I-I look like a monster and have blood like eyes..." Shuichi answered with a sigh. "Really? Your eyes don't remind me of blood. They look like rubies~!" He said with sparkles in his eyes. "R-Rubies...?" Shuichi asked. Ouma nodded. "Yeah, they're red, they're shiny and they're pretty. Just like rubies!" He said giggling. Shuichi blushed. "Say, how about we get you out of the alley and play instead?" He asked. "P-Play...? Play what though...?" He asked. Ouma put a finger up to his lips a hummed. "How about..." He paused for a moment before touching Saihara on a shoulder and running off. "Tag you're it!" he said running away. Shuichi smiled
"H-Hey!"

He had strongly fallen for the tiny leader but was too shy to talk to him after that day. He was sure Ouma didn't even remember him anymore. It was also obvious that his friends were getting sick of this crush talk. His friend Maki, a secret vampire could never understand how Shuichi fell for that cretin while Tsumugi, the only human person who knew about him being vampire, thought it was quite cute and encouraged him to talk to Ouma. But Shuichi couldn't seem to bring himself to talk to Ouma.
But that changed today.
Saihara sat in his chair during biology class. Miss Yukizome looked at her class with a smile. "Class I'd also like to announce that the school is throwing a Halloween party this weekend for the whole school! And I'd be happy if all of you choose to attend! There is something for everyone so don't worry about feeling left out, I'm sure you'll find something you can enjoy." she said clapping her hands. Almost immediately after the bell rang and people started rushing out the classroom as if it was on fire not caring if Yukizome had anything more to say.
"Shuichi! Maki! Could ask you for a moment?" Yukizome called out catching the attention of her two students. "As your teacher, I've seen that the two of you seem distant from the other students and while I know students hate it when teachers annoy them with the 'socialize more!' attitude but I'd mean a lot to me if you came to the Halloween party." she said with a grin. Maki and Shuichi just nodded and left the class.
"So what did Yukizome want from you?" Tsumugi asked joining the two as they walked out. "She wanted us to come to the Halloween party the Halloween party..." Maki muttered as Tsumugi's eyes sparkled. She loved parties. "Well, I think it'd be great if you came! I know I'm going! And I was thinking for the costume...I'll probably dress as a cute witch! Like the one from Little Witch Academia!" she almost squeaked. "We have to wear a costume? I'm out then" Maki said bluntly. Tsumugi puffed out her cheeks. "You guys have it easy since you're already vampires. All you have to do is put on a black cape, boom you've got yourself a vampire!" she said annoyed. "It's too much of a pain, I don't wan-"
"Kaito will be there." she said silencing Maki. Maki had a crush on Kaito ever since fifth grade. They were friends but unlike for Tsumugi, Maki was persistent in not telling her crush's the truth. Apparently, Kaito was a scaredy-cat and the last thing she wanted to do to the boy she liked is tell him that all that tomato juice she was drinking on school breaks was actually some unlucky teenager's blood. "If you decide to show up maybe you two can hang out. It can be like your first date!" she said encouraging Maki more as Maki remained silent. "Judging by that increasing blush, I'd say it's a yes. What about you Shuichi? Can ya come? For me?" Tsumugi asked.
Shuichi, however, stayed reluctant. "But what if one of us gets an urge for blood during the night? Our cover is basically blown then." he said but Tsumugi shook her head. "You can grab your 'tomato juice' with you if you get that, besides I'll always be able to drag you two bats away from the party. I'm always equipped around you!" she said with a giggle. "Is that really a compliment?" Maki asked as Tsumugi flustered. "No-I mean-ugh the point is I really want you to come. So will you come...please?" Maki sighed "Fine, whatever..." she said as Kaito smiled and looked over at Shuichi hopefully. Shuichi looked at her with a glint of hesitation before sighing
"I-I'll go..."

It was the day of the party.
And like every party in fanfic- I MEAN like every party everyone was trashed or raging to some hardcore music that made Saihara's ears want to bleed. He sighed as he held the cliche red plastic cup holding the blood of someone. It was probably the best thing about this party. All his friends had wandered off. Tsumugi was talking to Rantaro who had dressed up as an avocado and Maki went to spaceman Kaito and act all tsundere. It was then he spotted Kokichi in the crowd. He had a skeleton outfit and his signature scarf and was talking to another guy with a creepy smirk. Shuichi didn't exactly recognize him. Who was he? Were they friends? Or maybe on a date? No, he'd rather not think about that. He sighed continuing to drink 'juice' before getting spooked by his friend Tsumugi coming up behind him.
"Hi, Shuichi! I'm glad ya made it!" she said hugging him from behind. "Well I'm not happy to be here, I'm not enjoying anything here and just risking losing my mind to bloodlust by being here. Nothing's good about this" he said bluntly as Tsumugi puffed out her cheek. "Well, then why don't you take this as an opportunity to talk to your crush huh? It's the perfect time to do so!" she said. Shuichi sighed as his cheeks flushed red at the thought of the trickster and his cute mischievous smile. "I don't know, what if he doesn't want to talk to me. Last time I've seen him he was talking to someone else. Besides, don't know where he is anymore." he said looking over at the crowd of screaming, dancing teens.
"I saw some boy in sunglasses drag him off down the hallway, it looked like he was uncomfortable...but that just might be a false memory." she said. A boy with sunglasses, so the same boy from before. "Well then if you thought he was dragged off by somebody with clear discomfort why didn't you ask him if he was okay?!" Shuichi asked annoyed. He never understood why people didn't react when hey saw something suspicious. "Rantaro proposed a hot make-out session in the supply closet. I was in a daze okay!?" she said in her defense "If you're so worried, go after him like a knight in shining armor!" she said pushing him in the direction of the hallway. Shuichi sighed leaving the cup on a party table and heading down the hallway. Even with a straight face, he was concerned. Scared of what could've happened.
It was then when he heard a muffled voice from one of the classrooms. Curious he peeked through the slightly opened door. His eyes widened. The guy was no longer wearing glasses and his grin was wide showing off his teeth. It was then he noticed his red bloodthirsty eyes and his sharp fangs. Shuichi quickly realized that the boy Ouma was hanging out with
Was, in fact, a vampire.
He had tied Ouma's scarf around Ouma's wrists and covered his mouth with his hand. Ouma was trembling, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. That vampire was about to attack him. At the moment, Saihara didn't think. He just needed to get Ouma out of there and back to safety. He rushed in the classroom pushing the vampire off him and ripping off the band around his wrists. "Shui-!" Ouma looked surprised put stopped when he saw the vampire get up from the ground. "We gotta go." Shuichi answered taking Ouma's hand and running out the classroom. They ran and ran and ran until they reached the supply closet where they decided it was safe.
"Ouma are you-!" Shuichi was interrupted when Ouma hugged him, tears in his eyes. Saihara was confused but hugged back. "Hey... What happened? What's wrong?" he asked pulling away.
H-He was talking just fine..." he said slowly calming down "B-But then he went crazy and started to talk about sucking the blood out of my neck and how he's a vampire and after a while, I stopped believing it was a joke... he would've killed me" he said looking Shuichi in the eyes. However, Ouma's eyes grew wide and soon he pulled away from the hug. "Wait... you also have sharp fangs. You're just like him!" he said his breath getting heavy. Shuichi knew that he was scared, it was written all over his face. "Wait! Kokichi!" he yelled but Kokichi didn't listen, he ran for the door only for Saihara to grab him by the wrist and pin him to the wall. "Get away! Stay away!" he said trying to get out of Saihara's grasp. "Kokichi!" he yelled in a way to calm the boy. It worked. Ouma held his breath, silent, dread evident in his amethyst eyes.
"Kokichi I won't hurt you. I don't drink blood from my own friends" he said reserved only realizing afterward that he blew his cover. "Oh, so you are a vampire!" Ouma said outraged. "Yes..." Shuichi answered. "Then why didn't you tell anyone?! You lied to me and others for years that your abnormally long fangs were just a defect while in fact, you were a vampire!" he screeched. "You know that the second you'd hear I'm a crazy bloodsucker you'd run away and never speak to me again!" he yelled out. It was true that the only reason he didn't tell Ouma is the same reason Maki didn't tell Kaito. The fear of getting abandoned and outed was just too strong. Although now that Kokichi found out vampires exist there was no way to avoid it. "No, I wouldn't," Ouma said almost hurt. "Yeah?! What makes you so sure?!" Shuichi laughed at the prospect.
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU! BLOODSUCKER OR NOT, YOU'RE STILL SHUICHI!"
"Look... If you told me that you wouldn't hurt me in some other circumstances I'd believe you. Even now after being attacked I hope you won't hurt me. But... I'm frustrated you lied!" he said annoyed. "HOW CAN YOU CARE ABOUT ME LYING IN THIS SITU-Wait did you just say you love me...?" Shuichi's eyes widened. A blush appeared on Ouma's cheeks and he looked on the ground. "D-Didn't I make it o-obvious enough?? Hehe, I've been trying to get your attention s-since that day in elementary school..." he stuttered. Shuichi felt himself let go and tug on his hair. "Lies...you cannot love me.." he muttered looking down on the ground. "Hey...what's wrong...?" he asked before his eyes got a gloom look "Do you...not love me back?"
Shuichi panicked. "N-No! I do love you...I always have but...after all that's happened today you should know that being with me is dangerous! I might hurt you! Even now I..." he silenced himself. He couldn't help but look at Ouma's pale neck. He had to admit, he wanted to bite and suck out Ouma's blood. But he couldn't bring himself to hurt the one person he loved. He just couldn't.
"I know you won't." he said softly as Saihara shook his head. "No...you can't be sure of that...Even now I'm fighting urges not to bite you" he said tears pricking his eyes. He then felt Ouma hug him. "I trust you... even if you bite me, I won't be mad cause I know it's not under your control." he said pulling away, smiling slightly "I'll be here for you." he said in a comforting manner. Shuichi's eyes welled up with tears. He still wants to be with him...? He still...cares?
"I...I love you so much Ouma-kun!" he said hugging Ouma tight. He couldn't believe this. Ouma hugged back. Soon they pulled away and looked into each other's eyes. Ouma then stood up on his tippy toes and pecked Shuichi on the lips making him blush. "Aww! I made my Saihara blush. Now your cheeks are the color...
"The color of what?"
"Rubies~!"
