-AMANDA-
-3 weeks passed already, yet it feels like I've known Raven, Blake and all the others for long. I don't describe myself as a social person, but ever since I've met them, I noticed how open I became towards others. I think it's, because of the way they treat me. Come to think of it, Charles spontaneously came into our school and finally talked to me. I'm still confused tho. Charles might still be mad of me, because of Raven... UGH! Everything suddenly changes and I need to get used to it. First I meet a random guy, who seems to be perfect at everything, next I meet his ex bestfriend, who's a jerk and a genius, then my crush notices me!... Crap! I'm lost in my thoughts again! -
"Sissy, can you help me draw a flower?" Miles is sitting on the floor and seems focused in his painting. His thumb and fingers are slung tightly around a blue pen as he carefully moves his arm. -One thing didn't fully change. I must be really blessed to have him.-
He looks up to me and stares for a second. "Why are you smiling?" -Oh am I?- I wouldn't have noticed that, if he didn't tell me.
I step out of my comfort zone, I mean the sofa, grab a pen and sit next to him. I immediately look at his drawing. - I'm amazed by how creative this 5 year old boy is. I mean, who draws a cowboy with sandals and all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a boat? A flower taller than a human? And watermelon around the boat?- I chuckle and he looks confused at me. His tiny fingers grab a pen and tries following the way I draw.
Soon our doorbell rings and I stand up to open up. -No, I can't yell at my parent's and tell them to open it instead. Weird, who could it be?- I slowly bend the door handle and spot a familiar tall figure.
He's tall, blonde and has sparks in his crystal blue eyes. -CHARLES! WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING HERE?!- He stares for a while and his lips slightly curve up, as he greets me. "Hey... It's been a while." I nod and instantly regret acting too fast.
-WHY CAN'T I BE NORMAL AND GREET HIM LIKE EVERY NORMAL HUMAN BEING!?... UGHH!!!... He must think I'm a fool...-
To my surprise he chuckles then hands me a paper bag. "Here. My mom told me to bring over some of her homemade lasagne. She was excited I think and cooked too much." I take the bag, still unable to speak. He raises an eyebrow at me and places his right hand behind his neck and gives me that puppy look. "I guess, all you're going to do now is just nod around me?"
I internally face palm myself and flush again. -Gosh! I'm so stupid!- "N-no, I mean...err...thank you." I hear him laughing again.
-WHY AM I SO WEIRD?!-
Thankfully my mom yells from down stairs and eased the awkwardness. "Who's down there, honey?" -Saved by mom, I guess?-
"It's Charles. He brought something." I say back and mom hurries down the stairs to greet our guest. As always, Charles and his manners never fail to flatter mom.
-Well, not only mom to be honest...-

Mom somehow managed to persuade Charles to stay. Miles doesn't seem happy having him around, even tho he tries his best to get to know him better. It's kind of weird, how my brother instantly liked Raven, whom he just met, than Charles, who's been our neighbour since we moved in.
As for my dad, he stepped out of his comfort zone -Cough... Bed and Netflix - as soon as he heared that Charles came to visit. I noticed how close my dad and my childhood crush are. He treats Charles like his own son and he treats dad like his own dad.
-Weird right? Maybe, that's another reason why I fell for him. I thought it would be less of a pain, if they already know each other.-
During dinner, I've been listening to their conversation for a while.
"So you're going to continue studying instead?" My dad asks and takes a bite of the lasagne.
"Yes, sir. I'll be back once I've graduated." Charles answers and flashes his genuine smile into our eyes.
"I see. It'll be boring not having you around, Son. I suppose, you should do what you think is best for you..."
-So in other words he's going to graduate in our school. Damn...- I try to stop eavesdropping and stuff my cheeks with Mrs. Moores lasagne.
-Hmm~ I love the hot, warm and soft cheese inside the pasta top.-
After dinner, mom told me to entertain Charles. -Don't ask me why. She's always been like that, as long as he's good looking. Like WHY?!! Gosh! If she only knew, how fast my heart pounds beside this guy!-
The only thing I could think of is showing him my bedroom. -Good thing I've already cleaned up.- Actually, he asked me if we could talk and I know exactly what he's going to tell me. As we entered my room, I shut the door. He takes a seat on my bed and I join him.
"Soo...What do you want to tell me?" I try to keep calm, but I'm really nervous whenever I'm around him.
He sweeps his blonde hair back and places his elbows to his knees, facing the floor. -I really hate it, when guys turn serious. It's kinda scary.-
"About Johnson and Cohen." -Freak, here we go.- His mesmerizing blue eyes stare into mine as he continues. "I know this has nothing to do with me and I shouldn't get in your way, but I'd advice you to stay away from them."
-What? I mean, Raven and Blake also say the same thing, but why Charles too? Why do I feel out of place or know to less?-
"Why?"
He folds his hands together and looks back into the floor. " I don't trust them. I don't know much about them and want you to stay out of danger. I've heared lots of things about them and don't know if they are true."He sighs for a while. "Are you perhaps attached to them?"
I blink for a while and realise that it is a question. "I mean, they are nice to me. I don't see a reason why I should avoid them." I honestly reply, even tho it's half a lie.
-I don't trust Blake that much, since I heared and saw what he's actually like.-
The guy beside me just nods. "Sorry about last week. I guess, I was out of control." He shyly rubs the neck of his back and then glares back to the floor. "I care about you, you know."
-Not surprised by that tho.-
I internally pray that our conversation ends here. "I know, but you don't have to because my dad says so. It's fine, don't follow everything he tells y-"
I stop talking as he faces me with his knitted eyebrows. "No. You've got it all wrong."
I'm confused. "What do you mean?"
He sighs and stands up. "I'm not doing this because of Officer Miller, but because I care for you. You might not understand it for now tho. I'll tell it to you once I'm ready...I need to go now." With that being said he turns away from me for the leave.
-What the hell?! I don't get it? He does it because he cares for me? Gosh, did I just got 'bro zoned'? He must think of me as his little sis!!!-
I flush and follow him down the stairs. There he thanks my parent's for the -Cough- forced!... meal and says goodbye. I stop infront of the door and watch him slowly walk away.
-I guess that's it. I just got bro zoned and told off to stay away from my new friends.-
I was about to shut the door, when suddenly 'Air Jordans' block the door, before it closes. -What the hell!?- I slowly open it and find Charles leaning with his arms around our doorframe. I flush as I realise how close we are to each other. His eyes widdens aswell and he backs off, turning a little red. He nervously coughs and looks at the ground.
"Do you wanna meet up tomorrow. Like for a walk or watch a movie?" He rubs his neck awkwardly again and smiles to himself.
-Wait, hold up! Didn't he just 'bro zoned' me minutes ago and now he wants us to hang out? Wuutt?!?!-
His eyes are now staring at me. -Oh freak! I forgot that I have to answer.-
"S-Sure. When are we gonna meet up?" I smile and try to hide my embarrassment.
The corners of his pink lips curve up and his eyes reflect it. -GAWD! HE HAS THOSE CHILDFACE FEATURES SOMETIMES!-
"I'll pick you up at 9 am, Is that okay?" I nod and he chuckles. "I'll see you tomorrow."
-Will my time finally come, where I'm less transparent?!-
