"Oh, I didn't know you were stopping by!" I said, smiling at my boyfriend casually sitting on my bed.
He shrugged, seeing the towel in my hair. "Just showered?" he asked, and I nodded.
"Yeah, it's a little muddy outside, and I took my dog out and, long story short, it ended up with my pitbull knocking me into the mud."
"Sounds like quite the adventure," he said as I sat next to him. Giggling, I pulled the towel from my hair, letting the wet strands fall down my back.
"Michael, would you mind brushing my hair?" I asked, looking at him.
"What, your arms too short?" he teased, but he was standing up to grab a brush from my dresser.
"So funny," I said sarcastically, and he chuckled at me.
Michael sat behind me on the bed, and, a moment later, the brush began running through my hair. Since I'd just showered, my hair was very complient. I don't think there were any knots. At least, knot to my knowledge.
"All done," he sighed, running a hand through my hair. "So, what now?"
I pretended to think as I flopped backward, laying down across him with my head on his chest.
"Nap time," I said, burying my face in his red hoodie. "Cozy."
He chuckled, arms wrapping around my waist as we laid there comfortably. His warmth spread through me like a fire, and, soon, I was lulled into a very soft sleep.
