Hey Guys! So you guys asked for it and your going to get it. A Luna and Onyx filled adventure! Also, another amazing picture by Kiwi! But who is this new gem? Let's jump in already and find out! :D
-Luna's POV-
I watched Onyx as she helped Peridot move something into the barn. Ever since Peridot and Onyx proved themselves Crystal Gems, we decided to have them move into the barn. Peridot seemed ecstatic that she did what she did to Yellow Diamond. But Onyx seemed a little...upset. I watched as she helped Peridot move the truck back in the barn, seeing the look of sadness on her face.
"Go ask if she's okay," I heard behind me. I jumped and saw that Circo was standing behind me. I looked at him then at Onyx. "What are you talking about?" I asked.
"I know your worried. So go ask if she's okay."
"So you noticed she was upset too?"
Circo flinched and his cheeks were tinted a light pink. "O-Of course I did!" Circo said. "She's a member of the team now. It's obvious to anybody she's upset."
I raised an eyebrow at him and he rolled his eyes. He grabbed my shoulders and pushed me towards Onyx, saying, "Just go check on her." I stumbled a little but caught myself. I rolled my eyes and walked over to Onyx, to check if she was okay. Onyx signaled to Peridot in her robot to lower the truck. I reached her just as Peridot dropped the truck in the barn.
Onyx looked up and smiled. "Hey Luna, what's wrong?"
"That's my line," I said, looking at her. She flinched and bit her lip. I continued, saying, "Why are you upset?"
"I'm not upset," Onyx said, crossing her arms. "Besides, even if I was, it's definitely not about a certain gem I know."
"It is isn't it?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Onyx jumped back, shouting, "How'd you know?!" Before I could answer, she stuttered, "I-It doesn't matter! You wouldn't even know her name!"
"Wait....didn't you mention a gem's name when you were talking with Yellow Diamond?" I asked. Onyx pinched her lips, trying not to say anything. I tapped my chin, trying to remember. "What was it?" I mumbled. Then the name came back and I snapped my fingers. "Right! Amber!"
Onyx grumbled under her breath and sighed. "Yeah, her name is Amber."
"What was she like?" I asked. Onyx glanced at Peridot and saw Steven talking to her. Onyx sighed and led me away from the barn. We down on a patch of grass and she explained. "Amber was created on Home World, and was one of Yellow Diamond's elite soldiers," Onyx explained. "She was the greatest. And yet, she wouldn't rise in positions when given the chance. She liked being among the soldiers."
"How'd you meet?" I asked, confused on how Amber, part of Yellow Diamond's met Onyx, who was made on earth. She sighed and said, "She was sent to earth to hunt down and find Lucine and Circa. She ended up finding me and took me under her command. She trained me and, eventually, helped me to get into Yellow Diamond's court. Then...she was shattered."
I looked at Onyx, surprised. "I...I'm sorry, Onyx," I said. Onyx growled and said, "You shouldn't be. After all, it was your mom who shattered her."
"What?!" I yelled, shocked. "My Mom would never shatter a gem!"
"I saw it happen, Luna! You weren't there during the war so how would you know what your mom was like! You weren't even born then! Heck, you don't even know who she is now!"
I flinched and Onyx realized her mistake. She looked away, saying, "Sorry...I didn't mean-"
"No, your right," I said, looking at my gem. I curled my hand into a fist and said, "I don't know my mom. Maybe I should learn more though."
Onyx raised an eyebrow and I stood up, saying, "I think I know where I can get some answers."
Onyx stood up and asked, "Where?"
I looked at her and smiled. This was going to be interesting.
-Time skip-
"I always wondered where Lucine and Circa lived during the gem war," Onyx muttered, as she walked behind me into my mom's cave. We took the warp pad back to the beach house since Astra and Sora were taking a week off from the adventure to the moon.
We reached the bottom of staircase and I noticed that the full moon tile was lit up. Was the full moon tonight or tomorrow night? I shook my head; couldn't pay attention to that now. I looked at Onyx and said, "You can look around. Just don't break anything or go into the moon pool."
"Why not?" Onyx asked, looking at the pool.
"Trust me, you don't want too."
She stared at the pool a moment longer before walking over to one of the shelves and searching through it. I walked into mom's bedroom and looked around. After looking at the shelves and under the bed, I shouted, "Find anything?"
"No," Onyx said. She walked towards me and said, "Honestly, I don't think we'll find anything. Your mom was just as vague as Rose wa-AH!"
She tripped and fell on the floor, groaning. I rushed over to her and helped her up. "You okay?" I asked. She nodded and said, "I tripped on a loose stone."
"What?" I asked, looking. Sure enough, there was a piece of the floor that was loose. Curiosity got me and I walked over to the stone, pulling it up from the floor. In the little space, was a folded piece of paper. I picked up the paper and placed the stone back in. I unfolded the paper and my eyes grew wide.
"Onyx," I said, gesturing her to come over. She stood next to me and asked, "Yeah?"
"I think I found something," I said, staring at the map in my hands. Onyx's eyes grew wide at the badly drawn map and said, "This could be a clue! But...where is that place?"
"I'm...not sure," I said, tilting my head. For some reason, the map made slightly more sense with my head titled then up right. An idea popped in my head and I turned the map upside down. My eyes grew wide at how the lines on the map made more sense.
"Onyx," I said, the realization hitting me. "This is a map to the Kindergarten."
-Time Skip-
"Which way?! Right? Left? Straight?!" Onyx said, shaking my shoulders.
"Onyx! Chill!" I said, moving Onyx's hands from me. "I'm not as good at reading a map as Circo. So give me a minute."
We were in the Kindergarten and Onyx was more then excited to find Amber. But the problem was, whoever made this map wanted to keep it very vague. Even though I understood the instructions, it took a little bit to do the directions in my head. After a moment, I looked up and said, "We're going to go straight for at least five minutes then we make a right."
Not a second we're the words out of my mouth was Onyx running. As she ran, she shouted, "AMBER! AMBER! WHERE ARE YOU?"
"Onyx!" I shouted, summoning my wings and flying after her. As I flew, I placed the map back in my bag and raced to catch her. I caught up to her and said, "You have to be quiet! We don't know what's still in here!"
She completely ignored my comment and said, "Right here?"
I rolled my eyes and said, "Yes, right he-"
She bolted to the right and I followed after her, trying not to lose sight of her. She stopped in front of an opening in the rock wall and shouted, "Here it is!"
I landed next to her and saw that, unlike the other holes, this one was covered in what looked like a thick layer of amber. Onyx ran to the wall and started slamming her fists against it, shouting, "Amber! It's me Onyx!"
"Onyx! Stop!" I said, grabbing her and pulling her back. But the amber wall started to glow brightly. I wrapped my wings around Onyx and myself as the amber wall shattered. Once the noise died down, I dismissed my wings and we both looked. This hole was much deeper and wider then the other ones in the Kindergarten.
Onyx and I walked into the space. It looked as if it hadn't been touched for a while. But not as long as I had thought. Items of broken weapons and armor lied on the ground. But a wooden staff leaned against the wall to my right, looking brand new. Small bottles of liquid amber sat in the floor and a piece of what looked like sea blue glass sat next to one of the bottles.
I picked up the shard and put it in my pocket, wondering if it could help us in any way. Onyx was standing in the middle of the space, looking at everything with an unreadable face. I walked up to her and said, "I'm...sorry, Onyx. But I'm sure there's something here that shows that Amber was here."
"Not just something," Onyx said, turning to me with a smile on her face. "Everything here shows that."
"Everything?" I asked, looking around. "How?"
Onyx pointed at the broken weapons and staff, saying, "That staff used to belong to an... important gem that meant a lot to Amber. By the way the staff looks, she's polished it recently. The liquid Amber shows that she has been practicing her healing and fixing powers."
"Fixing?" I asked. Onyx explained, "Part of Amber's power is to fix broken weapons or cracked gems."
"Wait," at this, I pulled out my mother's broken bow from my bag. I held the two pieces and asked, "Could it fix my bow?"
Onyx tapped her chin and said, "It's worth a shot." She picked up one of the bottles and took the cap off. She poured a little of the liquid amber on each end of the broken pieces and I put the two ends together. The liquid Amber flowed a warm orange color and disappeared. The bow was now one piece, as if it had never been broken.
I smiled and felt like crying. But I sniffled and managed to hold the tears back. "Thank you, Onyx," I said.
"Thank Amber when you meet her," Onyx said. I looked at concerned and asked, "When will she be back?"
"I...I'm not sure," Onyx said, looking around. But I smiled and said, "At least she's still alive."
Onyx nodded, smiling. She seemed to realize something and asked, "But if she's alive, then who did Lucine shoot?"
I looked down at my gem, feeling a sense of unease. Mom...what did you do?
......
Amber's alive! But then who did Lucine shoot? Guess we won't know until later. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and I'll try to update ASAP :)
