"Emma open the damn door" Trisha bangs on the dorm room door for the hundredth time in the past minute
I sit up and put my hand on my head when I realise I should've done that a bit slower
I stumble out of the warmth and comfort of my bed, to answer the door to the early risers
"What are you all doing here?" I mutter after unlocking the door and letting them push it in themselves
"It's almost 12 Emma" Clare deadpans "and we wanted to talk about last night"
I turn around and give them a confused look "what's there to talk about, we were all there"
The four of us all sit around the island, we decided to invest in two extra chairs seen as there was almost always more than me and Grayson here
"Um I don't know maybe about the fact that you punched Grayson?" Maddie remarks sarcastically
I put my head in my hands "thought ye'd forget about that"
"Sweetie, there's a lot of things from that party I wish I could forget but you hitting my brother isn't one of them" Patricia laughs
"So I may have got too drunk" I mutter "but in my defence, it was your birthday" I direct my statement at Clare "and I wanted to give you a party you wouldn't forget"
I've been here for just over a month now and luckily it didn't take me long to settle in. I felt like I've know Patricia, Maddie and Clare forever
"On that note where is my brother?"
I roll my eyes "probably still in some fandoms bed, I haven't seen him since...." I pause thinking of the right word "the incident"
The door opens just as I finish my sentence and Grayson strides in, a noticeable cut on his cheek bone
Jordan walks in next followed by Wesley and Ross, Grayson's two other friends I've had the pleasure of meeting.... not
"Look who it is" Patricia remarks "nice bruise on your face by the way"
"Fuck off" he mutters not finding the funny side of the comment
"Someone got out the wrong side of the girls bed" I mutter
"Someone's in a better mood today" He retorts "your pmsing is getting annoying now sweetheart"
I roll my eyes turning away from him "You're a dick"
"Running out of comments?" I can hear the smirk in his voice "you've used that one before"
The four boys start shouting at the tv because of some basketball match, while us girls continue talking
"Shhhh" I hush everyone when my phone starts ringing and I notice it's my dad
"Why don't you just not answer?" Clare asks noticing who it is
"He'll only keep ringing or knowing him he'll start driving down here to make sure I'm ok"
She nods
I swipe the answer button "Hey dad"
"Hey sweetie, how's college going? I hope you're turning up to all your classes"
I roll my eyes "Everything's going fine and yes everything's going fine
Grayson starts moving, making the only noise in the dorm room
My dad starts telling me about everything that's happening back home and Grayson decides to start playing
"Baby come back to bed" he says loud enough for my dad to be able to hear across the line
Everyone else in the room apart from me tries not to laugh
My dad stops mid sentence "sweetie is everything ok, was that a boy?"
I glare at Grayson "everything's fine dad it's my roommate Kate?" My lie sounds more like a question
"Baby what's taking so long" Grayson continues "let's go back to bed and have more long, rough-"
"I've got to go dad bye" I interrupt both my dad and Grayson
"I'm going to kill you" I glare at Grayson while everyone else bursts out laughing
"What are you going to do punch me again" he smirks
"Em, I think he's the least of your worry's" Maddie informs me "look at this"
I walk over and look at my phone where I had already received multiple messages from my dad but one stood out
Dad - EMMA CHLOE HAYES IM COMING TO SEE YOU, ME AND YOUR BROTHER WILL BE THERE SUNDAY
I put my face in hands for the second time this morning "fuck my life" I mutter "what am I supposed to do, he thinks I have a roommate called Kate"
"Good luck with that" Grayson smirks walking out of the dorm
I hate that boy
The two days went by too quick and before I knew it, it was Sunday
"Calm down, I'll follow the plan" Grayson stands on front of the island obviously getting sick of me tapping my nails against the counter
"Well sorry that I don't believe that for one minute when you're the reason I'm in this mess"
"You have such little faith in me" he but his hand on his heart feigning hurt
I roll my eyes
My phone beeps and I pick it up hoping it's not my dad
Clare - Good luck I'm sure everything will be fine xx
Unfortunately that didn't settle my uneasiness, some people might think I'm overreacting but my overprotective dad and my brother coming to my dorm is not a good thing, especially with the unpredictable idiot that's standing on front of me
I answer Clare's text and suddenly one from my dad comes in
Dad - We're here
"You need to go" I look up at Grayson but he doesn't budge instead he gives me his signature smirk "now"
"Alright alright don't get your sexy white thong in a twist" he starts to make his way to the door
"Don't fuck this up on me" I roll my eyes getting ready to close the door after him, as he starts to walk away "and it's red actually"
He grins before walking away-now for the hard part
"Where's your roommate?" My dad asks once him and my older brother Thomas walk into my dorm
"Hmm?" I stupidly forget "oh Kate? Yeah family emergency she told me to say hello and sorry she couldn't make it"
My dad nods suspiciously
Half an hour later we're sitting at the island my dad and brother opposite me while they eat the spaghetti bolognese I had made
"I'm surprised you got off work on such short notice Tom" I say taking a drink of my water, wishing it was something stronger
My brother is a doctor at the local hospital at home and he always worked on Sundays when I was there
"Actually me and another doctor do every second weekend so it was my weekend off"
I nod "A lot has changed since I left"
"Speaking of that Em-" my dad starts but is interrupted by the door opening
Grayson walked in with a smirk on his face and both dad and Thomas turned around to him
Grayson stops in his tracks pretending he only noticed my relatives then "oh I'm so sorry I didn't realise you had guests coming"
Asshole
"Who are you?" My brother says protectively
"You sound like the boy from over the phone" my dad states out of no where
Kill me now
"What are you talking about?" My brother faces my dad
"I'm Grayson" he introduces himself with a fake sweet voice and a smirk "Emma is my booty-"
"He's my boyfriend" I snap, saying it loud enough so my family wouldn't hear the call bit
"Boyfriend?"
"Seriously Emma?"
I nod "it won't affect my studies, I promise" I stand up "Gray sit down I'll get you some food"
Grayson sits down and my dad and brother immediately start bombarding him with questions
To say I'm going to kill him when I get my family out of here is an understatement. I smirk when I see some Chili flakes on the counter so I mix a large amount of it with his bolognese
"As I was saying before your...... boyfriend got here" my dad starts. I notice Grayson eating some food and he immediately starts coughing, causing a big grin to make its way to my face
"You ok babe?" I put my hand on his shoulder faking that I care
He nods his head
"Your mother would really like if you would come t-"
"That's not happening" I snap
"Emma please"
I shake my head "I've to study"
Dad decided to drop the subject
I noticed Grayson rummaging around his food but I just continue eating
"How's Fr-"
"Me and your daughter had sex" Grayson interrupts me and I almost choke on air. "On this table actually maybe we shouldn't eat here. Health hazard"
My dad and brother glare at me, even though what Grayson was saying was a lie, I'm not exactly innocent but my dad and brother like to think I still am
I can see Grayson trying not to laugh out of the corner of my eye but my stupid family wouldn't notice because they're too busy staring at me
Thank god for makeup or I'd be redder than the bolognese
"What? I'm not a baby anymore" I try to say sweetly
"Maybe we should go" my dad stands up "long journey back and all"
I nod and walk them to the door before saying an awkward goodbye
"I'm going to kill you" I storm back into the kitchen to come face to face with my least favourite person on earth right now
"It's not like you're a virgin" he smirks knowing this will only piss me off more "are you?"
"No but they didn't need to know that" I shout
"Whoops did I ruin your good girl rep"
"Can you just shut up" I turn to face him putting the last dish in the dishwasher the dorm room was blessed with
"Eyes are up here" I catch him mid staring at my ass
"Just trying to picture the lacy red thong" he smirks making eye contact with me
"I'm seriously going to punch you harder next time" I mutter
