"You look stupid!" I burst out of laughter uncontrollably that I forced a hand over my mouth so that I wouldn't attract any attention.

He puffed. "I look smart!" he corrected with a geeky accent while he fixing the glasses up his nose bridge with his middle finger. I couldn't help but laugh and give him a glare.

"Here, try them."

Before I could say something, he took off the glasses and quickly threw them at me recklessly. I almost dropped them to the ground, but when I didn't, I sighed in relief while giving him a stare. "I'm not trying them on," I told him.

"C'mon! Don't be stubborn, just put them on," he ordered with an eye roll making me look down at them.

They're just glasses...

I let out a breath before I turned them around and wore them. However, that was when I felt my eyes about to burst out.

I quickly took them off. "Damn, are they blind?!" I exclaimed blinking rapidly. Thank god I don't wear glasses!

Ashton laughed shamelessly loud at me before he took the glasses back, only to place them on the back of the girl's head that sat in front of us. She was long asleep and laying her head on the table.

Yes, I was sharing my Biology class with Ashton, which was a blessing, to be honest. Unlike any of my other classes, biology was the most boring and quiet class I ever had. The teacher just keeps babbling until the bell rings while half of the students fall asleep. The other half distract themselves in any way possible.

I knew that if not for Ashton, this period would have lasted a year.

I learned that he can be cool and goofy. He was also easy to reach out to. The moment he saw I was having the same class, he insisted we sit next to each other and pass time joking around.

I didn't mind at all. In fact, this was exactly what I needed.

"It's not that bad," he insisted with a wide smile. I was about to argue with him when something caught my eyes.

"What's that on your temple?" I pointed at what looked like to be a big scar which was halfway hidden by his hair.

"Oh, that?" he chuckled hiding it from total sight. "Just a scar from a car crash..."

At that, my eyes widened. Only then did I remember the list and that he's marked. So, I asked, "Car crash?"

"An incident."

"How did it happen?" I continued to investigate.

He shrugged. "It was years back. The memories are vague, why do you ask?"

I shook my head, caught off guard. "Just curious."

He nodded his head before he raised his eyebrows. "What about you?"

"Me?" I asked confused.

He chuckled. "Do you have any scars?"

At that, I frowned but nodded. "I have some."

"Can I see them?"

I laughed awkwardly. "You can't see them," I told him at which he chuckled embarrassingly.

"Well, I think scars are awesome," he stated. "They look badass!"

I let out a snicker. "A friend once told me it is a sign of survival."

"Your friend is sure wise!" he commented as I smiled.

"So tell me, how did you end up here?" I started a new subject to get this conversation alive and not to get bored. Though the class is a couple of minutes away from ending.

He glanced at me with suspicion as I look at him innocently, which made him smile. "Police caught me in an illegal boxing arena," he told me.

"You're a boxer?" I asked impressed.

He nodded excitedly. "The best youngest boxer in town!"

I chuckled. "I bet you are."

He smirked for a second. "Although it was my bastard boss that ranted on me."

I raised my eyebrows shocked at which he nodded. "He was the one that told the police about my whereabouts and didn't give two shits if I was going to jail. He thought he would get away with his own wrongdoings, though it didn't really work out as well..."

"So, here I am."

I pursed my lips as I study his face that was expressing so much anger and hate. So, I tried to think of a way to change the subject again.

"Your sister," I mentioned making him snap his eyes at me. "What's her name?"

He zoned out for a moment while staring at the desk. But before I can ask him again or call his name, he said, "Her name is Amelia."

He looked back at me with a smile. "She looked really like you."

I smiled. "Only she was much much much smaller." he chuckled making me laugh too.

"Enough about me," he exclaimed. "What brought you here in this hell-hole?"

At that, I almost panicked. I tried to dig in for a lie to tell, but when seconds started to pass by quickly and Ashton here looked at me suspiciously waiting for an answer, I spilt the first thing that came into my mind.

"I... steal," I mumbled awkwardly.

"Oh, so you're a thief." he raised an eyebrow. "No wonder why you and your friend clicked."

I faked a laugh. "True."

He shook his head laughing before he went to say something. But that was when he caught something behind me and focused his sight on it.

Curious, I turned to look for what attracted him. Only for my eyes to land on specific blue orbs which sat alone back on the corner of the classroom.

Joshua looked at me for a moment with a glare before he looked back at Ashton. Signs of hatred covering his whole face.

I didn't notice he shared this class as well.

I turned around. "What's up with him?" I asked Ashton who kept staring back at Joshua but with a quite opposite expression.

"We have our odds," he simply said which made me more curious.

He shook his head before turning his back straight and facing the board, where he crossed his arms over his chest and smirked to himself.
I thought, "Football related?"

I figured Joshua would have his eyes on Ashton's leadership.

He shrugged. "I don't give a damn about being the captain or not."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Aren't you the captain?"

"Not anymore." he shook his head blankly.

I blinked with surprise, though kinda expecting it. "Who is?"

He glanced at me and tried to study my face. "Sebastian," he stated.

I knew it. Well, after the last game...

"What about you, what's the deal between you and them?"

"I don't really know..." I waved.

"Well, is there anything going on between you and Sebastian?"

I let out a heavy breath, even though I already knew he was going to ask me such a question. So, I looked up at him lost with words.

"I don't mean to stick my nose in your business!" he defended himself once he saw me hesitant. "I just want to make sure that everything is alright."

I offered him a smile. "Everything is fine-ish..."

He moved his seat a bit closer to mine. "You can always talk to me, you know that."

"You may feel suspicious and find this not so... comforting, but I am here whenever you need me," he explained furthermore. "I know this is way too forward but I have no bad intentions. I promise."

His words assured me in a way that I felt somehow safe with trusting him. Don't get me wrong, after what happened the past two weeks, the only thing I learned was trusting nobody. But Ashton had nothing against me and I can't deny the fact that I needed someone to talk to.

"There's this girl named Amy." I started.

"Amy the suicidal?" he asked at which I nodded. "What about her?"

"Sebastian has been trying to get close to me a lot and Julia is preventing me from talking with him because of this girl."

He blinked with confusion. "Why is there a dead girl involved?"

"Julia said they were a thing," I told him but he was quick to reply.

"Amy and Sebastian were never together!" he explained. "She used to live next door but if they were a thing, I'm pretty sure the whole academy would have known about it."

"Wait, so Julia is lying to me?"

He shrugged. "Perhaps."

I can't believe she lied to me. Ugh, why can't anyone be honest in here?

"I already told you this before," Ashton lets out a breath. "Sebastian has something in his mind that involves you."

I nodded desperately.

"There's something far more than just a dead girl going on." he thought out loud.

"You should be careful. And if you need anything, you know I'm here."

I nodded, thankful.

At least I have Ashton by my side. He's a good guy.

I stood in the empty hallway leaning on the lockers while looking at my wristwatch. Classes should be over by-

RRRRING!

-now...

I looked up only to see doors started to burst open and the hallways get filled with students.

And so, I waited patiently for my friend as I stare back at people who glanced at me with fear. I'm not a fan of all this power especially after I became captain, now I attract even more attention. But since it made people distant, I'm more than happy to overcome it.

One minute passed before I heard a familiar voice. I Searched for it.

"Skipped class again?" Luke was the first to make an appearance.

I Shook my head. "More like the whole day," I replied just as he stopped right in front of me.

I wasn't in a mood all day and my head was aching badly. As a matter of fact, I woke up an hour ago.

"Did you feel better?" he asked nicely but I Shook my head.

"Where's Josh?" I asked him starting to get impatient. "We're gonna be late for football practice."

At that, Luke raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Since when did you start caring about practice?"

"What are you talking about?" I scoffed which was probably a mistake because he smirked at me.

"Oh! Now I get it." he teased as I rolled my eyes. "Don't worry, he's probably just stuck in traffic."

"There he is." I pushed myself away from the locker once I caught Joshua walking down the hallway with an angry look on his face.

Concerned, I started walking towards him where he finally noticed me and did the same. "What's wrong?" I asked Luke, pulling up next to me.

"There's something you will not like," he told me, quite hesitant.

I instantly narrowed my eyebrows. Yet, before I could ask him what, I heard a laugh that rang in my ear.

I looked to my right, only two see two people passed by together while laughing, and I couldn't help but feel my blood beginning to boil.

You're officially marked, Ashton Philip.

Without even thinking through a plan, I stormed towards the locker room once I saw everybody starting to walk out. Luckily, the one in mind was still inside.

With my friends on both of my sides, I entered the room with anger startling a few of my teammates. I didn't spare a second to care.

On the other hand, he expected my appearance.

He was facing his locker and stuffing in some things before he froze. But not less than a moment, he closed his locker slowly and turned around with a smirk.

"What's up, captain," he greeted bravely.

I didn't even hesitate for a second before I attacked him and pushed him against the locker. His head hit the steal with a loud bang, bringing me a bit of satisfaction.

"I'm going to say this once," I threatened with steam coming out of my ears. "You stay away from her."

Surprisingly, he started to chuckle, which made me confused. So I tightened my grip on his shirt and forced him even harder against the lockers.

His eyes snapped open and search for mine. Much hatred and excitement within. "You can't tell me what to do," he smirked.

Furious, I pulled him off the lockers before slamming him at them, only this time harder and creating much more noise.

This time he hissed, but I ignored him. "If you touch a single hair of her head, I swear to you, not even God will be able to save you from me."

He laughed again, but with pain. "You see, Sebastian, you're missing the point."

"She's the one that wants me to be her friend," he said as I feel my blood boil even more. "Don't you see it, she wants me."

It became harder for me to breathe, but I used his words to make me even angrier. "She's scared from you, Sebastian." he continued.

At that, I paused and found myself thinking for the first time in the past hour. He's doing this on purpose because I became captain. For all I know, being captain had always brought him attention and power. Now that he's not, he wants revenge.

He's lying!

I tightened my grasp on him harder. "You should be the one scared." I barked but he just smirked.

"She hates you."

At that, I lost my temper. And as I was about to raise my fist and land it on his shitty face with all my power, he dipped himself quickly and instead it landed on the locker.

He pushed me away and held himself backwards. Because it would be stupid of him to attack especially since I wasn't alone.

I tried to stay balanced on my feet. And when I did, I stormed back at him.

"Go ahead and hit me in the face!" he snapped at me. "I'm excited to know Mia's reaction when she finds out what you did."

I stopped my track and stared at him with despise which made him smirk. And before any of us could do something, someone burst into the room.

"What the fuck is going on in here?!" I heard coach Trent growl in frustration. "Philip?! Rush?!"

I glared at Ashton. "Nothing coach," I told him. "Ashton just can't play today."

Ashton raised his eyebrows at me. And before he can say a word, I straight up kneed him where the sun doesn't shine with a lot of force.

I won't expect him to be playing the whole season.

He dropped on the floor instantly and started cursing in pain. I only stayed in place and watched him with satisfaction. That until my ears began to ring.

"SEBASTIAN RUSH!" Coach yelled in my ear. I turned my face and looked him dead in the eye. "Get your ass on the field!"

I rolled my eyes at him as he went to shout some more. "All of you! Get your asses on the field now!"

With one last glance at Ashton, I turned around my shoes and started walking out with my friends.

"Finally," Josh smirked at me. "You showed him."

I nodded my head and smiled when Luke patted my back. "Well done, bro."

"Philip, go to the nurse's office," I heard coach order Ashton. "Put some ice on it or something."

"Fuck you!"

This was an intense chapter. Phew!

Two-point of views in one chapter! I know you missed Sebastian.

What do you think will happen next?
