M I A

"Damn, you weren't kidding about the crowd." I breathed out in amazement as I look around the enormous field getting filled by over a thousand people.

"Duh! I never lie," she dumbfounded me with an eye roll as I snicker at her.
We had just arrived at the field by the bleacher's entrance, which means we're only standing at the top and looking down at the whole field. As if we're on the fourth floor and the field is on the ground one, I scanned the half-full bleacher's stadiums suddenly feeling excited.

So many unfamiliar people were clamouring and cheering. On the left side, I recognized a couple of people I share classes with taking seats. And on the right side, I recognized only the gender of the whole stadium. It was filled with boys.

"C'mon, we need to find seats before the game starts," Julia told me before holding my hand and pulling me towards the left side.

We hurried through people recklessly as she pushed a few of them away. Julia didn't seem to care and neither did the people she pushed, probably because they're both used to chaos.

Once we reached the bleachers to the left, Julia stopped and scanned for a place in front. "Oh! There!" she yelled pointing in a direction.

"Seats?" I asked checking it only for her to shake her head.

"No, snack guy," she said joyfully when she saw a man carrying a stand of many kinds of food. "I'll go bring us some. You find our seats."

Not waiting any other second, she quickly ran towards that man with her voice probably filling the whole field as she yells, "HEY, SNACK GUY!"

I chuckled embarrassingly as I see her pushing more people away and jumping over seats. Couldn't help but think that I've made a good choice picking a friend.

I sighed and looked away, to find some seats as Julia ordered, which was kinda hard because of the crowd that keeps coming and going. Yet luckily, after a few minutes of searching, I finally found two empty seats with good views.

I started walking in Julia style. But instead of pushing, I forced myself through tall people's arms and legs. Not proud of it but at least I got in time before anyone had taken them.

Grinning in victory, I went to claim my thrown not once feeling ashamed or humiliated but actually kinda mischievous. Yet little did I know, I suddenly got pushed aside as a group of people passed in front of me.

Surprised, I watched as many people sit down on the seats I surely got to before them. Needless to say, I got angry.

"These seats were mine!" I snapped at two members of the group who sat on the seats I found empty a few seconds ago.

One of them, a punk-looking girl, looked at up me with a smirk. "Is that so?" her voice came out husky and quite deeper than a normal girl's voice would be. It was obvious she was trying to sound scary.

I crossed my arms in frustration and glared at her. "Yeah, so why don't you go find seats elsewhere?!"

Unexpectedly, the rest of her group started laughing at me that I became uncontrollably anxious and embarrassed. Even though, I remained determined.

Once the laughter stopped, the punk girl looked back at me after whispering a couple of words to her friends. She then blew me off when she suddenly stood up and sent me a glare.

I was taken aback by her height which was an obvious advantage to her. Not to mention that I got slightly threatened because who was I fooling? I was playing the mouse in a house full of cats.

She motioned closer to me and I couldn't move back because I happened to be frozen by fear. Her face started to get closer to mine and the only thing that was going through my mind was how meaningless my death would be.

Imagine on my gravestones, Mia Smith, 1999-2017, cause of death: killed for seats claiming.

She stopped. And just when I thought she was about to attack me, she whispered, "Why don't you go fuck yourself, new bitch?"

I gulped my fear and for a second I thought I swallowed my tongue as well. "Sorry..." I breathed out to her.

She continued to stare at me with dominance and after a few seconds, she finally moved away.

She went back to her group of friends and began to share her laughter again. Embarrassed, I couldn't do anything but start walking backwards.

My whole body was trembling and I was sure that I was going to have nightmares tonight because of her. How can a girl be so traumatizing?!

I walked a few steps backwards whilst watching the group of bullies trying to make fun of me. And just when I decided to turn around and ignore it, I accidentally bumped someone.

Shocked once more, I turned around to apologize to the person I bumped at before he or she threatens me again. Yet little did I know when I turned around, I saw familiar big brown eyes.

"Well, well. If it isn't the girl who threatens the baddest yet gets eaten by amateurs." he looked down at me with so much amusement in his expression.

"Sebastian?!" I dumbfounded.

"Mia," he replied ever so innocently which made me lose my stress.

For some reason, the fear that was created by that punk beast disappeared. I was no longer scared or even trembling to that matter. And what surprised me the most, was that I continued to gaze up at him to calm down even more.

I was confused by my behaviour. But to top it all, I was also relieved. Finding someone I knew in an enormous place puts one at ease.

That was actually when I realized that Sebastian doesn't scare me like how Julia describes him to be. I actually feel secure with him for an unknown reason.

Maybe because everyone fears him.

Couldn't help but remember what I did earlier this afternoon... Oh, shit! He's here for revenge!

"You handled yourself pretty good," he brought me back to reality when he chuckled playfully at me.

I gulped nervously. "At least I didn't die."

At this, he looked at me with pity and placed a hand on his heart. "Oh, sweet innocent Mia," he frowned. "You have so much to learn about."

I raised my eyebrows curiously. "About what?"

He looked down at me with thoughts obviously running through his mind, which made me even more curious.

When he remains to say nothing, I shook my head as a sign of impatience. He only reacted by squinting his eyes a bit.

He hummed. "You are seriously not going to last."

Confused, I furrowed my eyebrows and was about to ask again. Only this time, he spoke first. He walked closer and lowered his head before he said, "If you want to survive in this place, you need to not let anyone cross you."

"You need to be hard! Rude! Cruel! You need to be an asshole."

I tried not to let him inside my head. But he looked so serious that I couldn't help but laugh, only to make him roll his eyes.

"I'm sorry," I said through laughter.

"That's you're first death wish," he pointed out which made me stop. "You need to stop apologizing. Even if you're wrong, never apologize!"

I raised my eyebrows challenging and crossed my arms. "Is that what you do?"

He nodded proudly. "Look what it got me."

I hummed. "So does that mean you're not bad? You fake it to survive."

He stared at me with slight amusement. "I don't need to fake anything." he simply stated.

"But you," a smirk started to stretch on his face. "You do."

I uncontrollably smiled. "What are you doing here anyway? Aren't you supposed to be getting ready?"

He chuckled. "Oh, so you've heard about me being a football player too?"

I shook my head. "I didn't need anyone to tell me that. You and your teammates nearly walked over me on my first day, remember?"

"How can I forget?" his eyes sparkled as I laughed.

"But tell me, what have people been telling you about me?" he tilted his head to the side, curious.

"Ah, I asked you first," I challenged.

He smiled before he went to glance around. "Um... I was just looking for a friend."

"Your friends are probably getting ready, unlike you."

"I'm not talking about Luke and Joshua."

At this, I snorted. "Yeah, as if you have any other friends."

He raised one of his flecked eyebrows. "You heard that too?" he teased as I ignore him.

"But seriously, I was looking for a friend."

"Really?" I asked as he nodded. "Who?"

"You," he said. "I wanted to check if you came."

I hummed. "I don't remember making new friends."

He rolled his eyes. "Ouch. Rejecting me for the second time today! Have mercy."

I forced the urge to smile in and instead I cleared my throat. "Well, Sebastian, it was nice talking to you but I promised to find seats before the game starts."

"Playing hard to get, I get it!" he mocked as I chose to ignore him.

I looked around the stadium only to see it's almost full. "Damn. Thanks to you, seats are all taken!"

"Me?! What did I do?" he asked offensively.

"You distracted me!" I spat.

Great now Julia and I will sit in the back row...

I searched around again in the hope to find just two empty seats. But all found was hundreds of heads.

I sighed giving up and was about the take the stairs up and sit on the back row before Sebastian stood in my way.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Come with me." before I couldn't ask where or why he walked past me down the stairs. So with no choice, I followed.

I followed him until we almost reached the fences. "Where are you going?" I demanded when I saw him in front of a fenced door.

I watched him take something from his pocket which turned around to be his ID card. He then swiped it on a small machine that had access to the door's lock. Once a green light flicked, the door unlocked with a low screech.

"I have access to the VIP lounge," he informed me with a shrug. "You can watch the game with the best view if you want."

I looked through the door only to catch a few rows of more comfortable seats with armrests and connected small tables. A couple of people in suits were sitting in the first row and chatting.

"Am I allowed to?" I looked up at him questioning.

He shrugged opening the door wider for me to enter. "What about Julia?"

When he heard me, he furrowed his eyebrows and closed the door. "What about her?"

"We're supposed to watch the game together..."

He hummed. "Where is she then?"

"She told me she was going for snacks."

He pursed his lips then nodded. Where only then did I feel him grab my hand. In a surprise, I went to pull my hand away, only for him to hold it tighter.

He raised both of our hands In front of us before he opened my palm. "Here. Go in when you find her." he placed his ID on my hand before he lets go.

"Don't you need it?" I looked at him with confusion.

"Now, I don't," he said. "But, it'll give me a reason to talk to you later."

I smirked at him. "You know I can use it on things against you, right?"

He chuckled. "I trust you."

When I heard him say that, I couldn't help but feel as if my heart skipped a beat. Even though I knew he didn't mean it, it still got a reaction I didn't allow from me.

He also managed to make me speechless. So I just forced a confused smile.

He returned it before he sighed. "Now I need to go and get ready."

"To loss of course," I managed to tease when he walked past me.

He stopped and turned around. "Not this time," was the last thing he said before he walked away.

I watched him as he climbed the staircases until he was on top. He then walked left, leaving the stadium.

"MIA!" Suddenly I heard a voice echo around the whole field if possible. I looked in the direction of the source only to see Julia wandering around lost.

"I'M HERE!" I yelled back not caring about the annoyed stares I got in return.

Julia found me only to waste no time running towards me. That's when I noticed so many kinds of food and drinks on her arms, she was barely seen.

Once she reached me, she looked at me confused. "Where are the seats?" she asked.

"Right here," I motioned before I swiped the card on the machine and opened the door to the VIP lounge again.

She looked at me with surprise. "How?!"

I waved the card in front of his face. "Oh my god! You stole someone's access card?!"

I opened my mouth to tell her it's Sebastian actually, but closed it. I ended up going with the flow instead of mentioning his name, knowing damn well that it'll just make things worse.

"I'm so proud of you!" she cheered before she entered the door. "Who's card is it?"

"Um... don't worry about it," I told her before following her and shutting the door behind me.

Fuck you, punk girl! I got to sit in the VIP lounge.

The game had just started. Who do you think will win?

Sebastian is really trying to get close to Mia. And she seems to let him. What do you say about that? Do you trust Sebastian?

What is he up to anyway?
