~Brooke's POV~
"Howdy!" I slid down on the table beside Nate at the end of the day.
"Hey!" Replied Drew and Nate.
Drew and Nate immediately stopped their conversation. I turned to Nate who was picking at his cupcake.
I turned back to Drew who was watching my every move.
"Seriously, whats up with him?" I asked Drew.
"What isn't?" Drew chuckled.
"I'm still here you know!" Nate sighed.
"So what did Beck want to ask you."
I gulped and looked down at my hands.
Of course.
I picked at my mint green nail polish. It was coming up to my birthday and the Two weeks before we have a deal. When I was 12 my mom was always trying to do the "girly stuff" like she'd try and give me makeovers and all that stuff. So we made a contract.
She has to leave me alone the whole year and she gets the two weeks before for all that stuff.
"Hello? " Drew said poking me lightly with the end of his fork.
I shot a glare at him putting my hands flat on the table.
"What. "
"What did Beck say." Nate suddenly said jumping into the conversation.
"Oh it speaks." I muttered sarcastically.
"Brooke!! " Drew yelled.
"Fine, fine.. " I muttered tugging on my sleeves.
I tucked my hair behind my ears and looked at both the boys who were waiting eagerly.
"Ugh, he asked me out!" I sighed rolling my eyes.
"Oh." Drew muttered.
I heard Nate speak under his breath.
"What did you say?"
"Wait, you knew? " I said staring at Nate who was picking at his food again.
"Uh, Yeh." He said it like it was nothing.
"And you didn't stop him? " I asked.
"What? Why would I-"
"Cause I just broke the poor guys heart. Now it's gonna be so awkward." I slumped in my chair.
"You said No?" Drew asked.
"Well duh. I don't like him like that. "
"Oh."
I laughed and slapped his elbow.
"Chill, I let him down gently."
I picked up my backpack and flung it over my shoulder.
"Ugh, I've gotta go, It's the dreaded time of year..."
"What?"
"Ugh, it doesn't matter, see ya tommorow." I said waving goodbye to them both.
"Wait do you need a lift? "
"I'll walk! " I said putting both hands in the air and walking away.

I opened the doors to Starbucks, my second home and walked over to the counter. It was quiet so there was no queue.
"Hey, can I help you."
No it's fine, I just came to admire your choice of chairs.
"Yeh sure, I'll have the vanilla latte please."
The door opened behind me to reveal three giggling girls.
I rolled my eyes and tapped the counter impatiently.
"Oh Brooke nice to see you here."
I turned around to see Ashley, Leah and a girl from my geometry class that I didn't recognize.
"Heeeey." I spoke after a long pause.
"How are youuuu. " She said dragging the word. She smiled at me. She had long, blonde hair and bright green eyes.
I bit my lip trying to think of what her name was as I turned back around to collect my order.
Mia that's it!
I turned around feeling rather proud with myself for remembering to see both of them staring at me. Well by both I mean Leah and Mia whilst Ashley still hadn't acknowledged my presence.
"Yes my names Mia. Well I think so... " She said furrowing her eyebrows.
Oops, I said that out loud.
"No I was just trying to remember your name..." I said holding the drink in my hand.
"But why don't you know my name-"
"Oh it doesn't matter! " I muttered.
"Ew, what are you doing here."
I clenched my hand into a fist and took a slow breath.
"Nice to see you too." I said and turned to walk away.
"Don't talk to her Lea." She said sternly.
"Okay....wait my names Lea... Cool! "
Well she doesn't seem like the smartest one does she?
I walked away and sat at the furthest table away from them.
Only to be followed by the one and only-
"Just so you know I'm having a party on Friday. Could you tell Nate and Drea they are invited!" she said narrowing her eyes at me and smiling sweetly.
"It's Drew and Yeh, if I remember."
"You know you're not invited right." She flicked her hair over her shoulder and crossed her arms.
"I wasn't planning on going anyway." I said scrolling through my phone.
"I'm still talking to you."
"Yeh I know, I think everyone on the otherside of the street knows that." I laughed.
"You better watch it-"
"Or what?"
"I will-"
"Bye." I smiled and walked away bumping into her shoulder as I walked past.
I opened the door and walked out hearing a beep from my phone.
I booked a hair appointment at 4:30 be home quick. - Mom
Seriously, a hair appointment. What have I gotten myself into.

"I don't want to be here! " I groaned propping my head on my palms.
"Sweetie, we aren't even there yet. "
"Ugh can I like cancel this contract."
"Nope."
It was silent apart from the sound of the radio.
"Where's Dad? " I asked turning to face my mom.
"He's in Los Angeles."
"Really. And he didn't take me? " I gasped.
"You have school. Oh and your father said that you have two chances left. Whatever that means."
"What? Why? "
"He said that he knows about your little 'Glue everything to the teachers desk trick.' That's all I know. " She said keeping her eyes on the road.
"Ha that was a classic." I laughed.
