[ Nature's Friend ]

On hot days such as this one, it was always best to simply take a soothing walk on a path the shadows of trees provided. The exact same happened to be the case today as well as your current preoccupation, given the fact that you were strolling in the forest near Accumula Town. Your priority was to solely enjoy another what was supposed to be ordinary day, but you were unconsciously hoping to run into a rare Pokémon or experience any kind of interesting event.
Concerning the encountering Pokémon part, a common one would do perfectly too, since sometimes, for some unknown reasons, Pokémon seemed to be frightened by you. The reason why they would react that way was still a mystery though. Your face couldn't be that scary, now could it?
Except for the rustling sound the leaves emitted due to the wind occasionally blowing stronger, it was rather quiet. Too quiet, so you started humming the tune of a song you had just recently listened to. That until you noticed something other than leaves making a sound not too far away from where you stood.
Turning your head in that direction, your eyes landed on nothing other but a wild Sawsbuck which was peacefully munching some of the grass that grew next to an exceptionally large tree. Quickly yet silently, you opened the backpack you had been carrying all this time and pulled a Iapapa Berry out of it, swinging the bag over your shoulder again once you had what you needed.
You proceeded in taking careful steps in order to get closer to the deer-like creature. It took a bit of time until it noticed you, but when it did, it swiftly raised its head and stared in your direction alertedly. Sawsbuck was frozen in its place the instant you managed to get close enough for you to hold your hand out and offer it the berry you held.
But not so surprisingly, the wild Pokémon took off to somewhere unknown even before the Iapapa Berry was able to make contact with its muzzle. A sigh of frustration unattractively left your mouth as you gazed up at the not-so-visible sky. "What exactly did I do wrong..."
Defeat apart, you were certain there was someone else in the forest, pretty close by actually. You could tell because of the human figure you roughly saw from the corner of your eye. You turned around only to see a person with long, green hair, wearing casual clothes who stood near another big tree. The piece of clothing that probably made them more recognizable was their black-white cap.
When you took a closer look at them, you had almost been left dumbfounded. That person was petting a Sawsbuck! The same species of Pokémon that just ran away from you at full speed with no comprehensible reason stood there happily and allowed that human to caress it. The person stopped being affectionate toward the Pokémon after giving it something to eat before slowly walking away.
It seemed to you like they knew their way with Pokémon, and you certainly weren't going to pass on an opportunity that featured you being able to caress any kind of Pokémon. Not thinking too much about it, you quickly followed the tea green-haired person, shyly trying to gain their attention. "Uhm, e-excuse me..."
"Yes?" The person turned around upon hearing your soft voice, exposing with their own that they were a male. A handsome one at that. Looking at him from so close up, you noticed that his eyes had a beautiful, grayish blue color. Something similar to bangs covered a bit of his forehead. What he wore was a white shirt over something black accompanied by brownish pants. The green color of his sneakers almost perfectly matched his hair. The male had bracelets on both his wrists and wore a unique necklace.
A blush seared through your cheeks and for a moment you thought your face was on fire. Realizing that you might have been staring a bit too much, you quickly averted your gaze. Your heartbeat picking up its pace might have also been your imagination. "W-What's this?! I don't believe in love at first sight, so why-"
You needed to come up with something quickly, since you had reached out to this handsome male specimen in the first place. Without coming to a smarter conclusion, you simply introduced yourself in order to give off a less weird or suspicious impression. "W-Well-Hello, my name is [Name]..."
"It's nice to meet you? You can call me N." The grayish blue-eyed male replied, making his statement sound more like a question than a fact. N... what a mysterious name. You weren't going to let yourself get distracted by only that for much longer, so you cut right to the chase.
"I saw you pet that Sawsbuck earlier... How did you do that?" Bluntly and straightforwardly saying that, you gained a confused expression from the taller male. Of course, who wouldn't be weirded out by a random stranger who had suddenly walked up to them and asked them odd questions?
"What I meant is... Every time I try to get near one, it just runs away. With you, on the other hand, it seemed to be so at ease." You tried explaining yourself, but come on, who were you kidding. "A-Actually, never mind. I'm sorry to have bothered you."
Just before you were able to quickly take your leave, N reached for your hand in a swift movement and was able to grab your wrist without using too much of his strength. Surprised at his sudden gesture, your eyes reflexively locked with his beautiful grayish blue orbs. "Wait a moment!"
"I... I could help you get close to one if you would like." The tea green-haired young man added, flashing you a gentle smile. Not only that made your cheeks redden, but the touch of his warm hand was making your whole body heat up.
"That would be very kind of you." You said somewhat silently, staring at the ground to avoid longer eye contact and possible uneasiness. A small grin made its way on your face, and soon after that, N was already leading the way through the forest. He never once let go of you which made you even more aware of him. "Why are we holding hands?! I can't-"
You were called back to the present the moment N stopped in his tracks, causing you to do the same since he still had quite the firm grip on your wrist. With his free hand that he brought up to his face, he basically shushed you by raising his index finger and pressing it to his own lips. After that, he nodded in front of the two of you, gesturing you to look that way.
You did and spotted another seemingly wild Sawsbuck that was feeding on a small bush. N started whistling which gained the deer-like creature's attention before he slowly took steps towards it, pulling you along with him. The Pokémon got its guard up at the sight of you, but lowered it as soon as it heard the young man's soothing voice. "Don't be afraid. We are your friends, not enemies."
Almost shockingly, Sawsbuck didn't budge a single inch from his current location and only gazed at the two of you who by then had already gotten extremely close to it. So close that the creature was actually in your reach. And even though this was clearly your chance to pet the Pokémon, you got hesitant when it actually came down to it for some reason which most probably was the doing of your own nervousness. "A-Are you sure I should? What if it-"
Before you could share your negative opinion, N raised the hand he was holding yours with and placed both of them on the wild Sawsbuck's forehead, causing a small gasp to escape your lips, instantly making you swallow the words that had been left unsaid. Your eyes travelled from the Pokémon you were now petting to the young man's grayish blue orbs insecurely.
"He likes you." N commented while sharing a gentle grin with you. Just that was enough to tint your face red all over again, all the way up to the tips of your ears this time. Observing your reaction, N couldn't help but chuckle. "I-I doubt that... He didn't escape only because you were here with me. If I had been by myself, Sawsbuck would be running miles, thinking it had seen a Cacturne, not a person." You hated sharing negativity with other people, but you had already said all that before you even realized it.
"You're not scary. I'd say you are quite beautiful, actually." The tea green-haired male blurted out, feeling embarrassed at first, but still managed to smile so brightly as what he told was none other than his sincere opinion - Not that you could have known for certain or anything. Nonetheless, that small compliment had been enough to make your heart go crazy - not literally of course, since that would have been pretty bad - but you were lost in your own little world once again.
You felt almost disappointed when N let go of your hand, but seeing how he climbed on top of Sawsbuck only to re-offer you to grab it again immediately raised your spirits. "May I?" He asked, that sly smile never once leaving his face. You reached your own hand out and got a hold of his. A nod was your only reply before the young man pulled you up in a quick movement.
Once you were on top of the Pokémon as well, you wrapped your arms around N instinctively, thinking that you would fall off the creature if you didn't hold on tightly enough. Pleasant silence filled the air as the deer-like Pokémon began moving, walking slowly with no particular destination in mind.
Not being able to suppress a certain small urge of yours, you leaned your face forward, carefully inhaling the soothing aroma coming from N's clothes or body. You did it as unnoticeably as possible, but you were discovered regardless. The moment the young man felt your breath hit the nape of his neck, his face became the color of a bad sunburn. He did nothing to let you know of either two things though.
After a good while, Sawsbuck stopped as soon as it had led you two to a stunning place which was most probably located in the middle of the forest. The pink color of cherry blossoms in bloom surrounded you, petals falling to the ground everywhere as if it were rain.
While you were a bit distracted by the breathtaking sight, the grayish blue-eyed young man got down from the season Pokémon, soon helping you descend as well. N seemed to have expressed his gratitude to Sawsbuck with kind words, and the deer-like creature left you after nodding at the man who now stood next to you.
The green-haired male asked you to follow him, and without thinking twice about it, you did. The young man led you to a massive cherry blossom tree where the both of you soon sat down. You would occasionally talk, but you could tell that N wasn't a person of many words, but neither were you regarding that matter.
The male was the first one to lie down into the grass which was covered with a blanket of pink petals, but you were quick to imitate him, locking your fingers together behind your head. You shut your eyes as if you were ready to drift to sleep. N on the other hand turned around, his back momentarily facing you as he seemed to be searching for something.
"[Name]?" You opened your eyes when you heard your name being called, turning your head in his direction partially as a reflex. You were expecting a question or something along those lines, so you were slightly surprised when the young man placed a pink flower behind your ear.
"Yes, it's just as I thought. You really are beautiful." Hearing him speak that way so casually made saying embarrassing things like those appear easy, something you would likely never be brave enough to do. Your cheeks were kissed red, and N's genuine grin was not helping your heart calm down at all.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Your silent voice echoed in your mind before you held out your hand and placed it on the male's cheek. Both of you were actually caught off guard by your gesture, but the even better part was yet to come. "I just met him!"
The two of you inched closer to one another like magnets, just a tad slower, until your noses faintly touched. You used the hand you were touching N's face with to take his cap off before running your fingers through his tea green hair. It was even softer than you had imagined it to be, the feeling of those green strands brushing against your fingers releasing a swarm of Butterfree in your stomach. The young man cupped your cheek, his thumb soon playing with your bottom lip.
Both your and his eyelids closed almost automatically as soon as you got rid of the distance separating his lips from your own. They brushed clumsily against one another at first. Since both of you were embarrassed, it was a kiss like small Fletchling pecking. "This makes no sense, I don't-"
"But I guess it doesn't have to..." You decided to finally stop listening to your more rational internal voice and no longer hesitate. Slowly yet surely, the two of you started getting in synchronisation. N had pulled you even closer to himself, embracing your smaller figure warmly as if you were something exceptionally delicate.
You felt like you could melt completely after feeling the young man's tongue brush against your lips. N nibbled your bottom lip as if to ask for your permission. The message came through to you clearly, so you obediently parted your lips just a little yet enough for the male to slip his wet muscle inside your mouth.
You let out an unexpected and quite embarrassing moan when N's and your tongue collided, quickly engaging in the infamous battle over dominance which the young man obviously won. Not wasting any time, the tea green-haired male explored every inch of your mouth.
Minutes that seemed more like eternity flew by and soon the two of you pulled away due to the need of oxygen. The string of saliva connecting your lips with N's snapped as soon as enough distance was put between the two of you while the only noise seemingly filling the air appeared to be his and your uneven breaths.
That was certainly an unexpected yet memorable event you didn't even imagine experiencing at the start of the day. The rosy color of your cheeks gave you away, but N's face was no better. The young man hugged you lovingly, not planning to let you go any time soon. "Let us stay like this a while longer."
