"I'll sleep on the floor." Jungkook and Jimin said at the same time.
"I-" I was about to disagree to them but Jimin interrupted me.
"Ah! My back hurts from all this driving." He placed his hands on his lower back and scrunched his face. I wasn't too convinced on his poor acting. "I guess Jungkook will sleep on the floor right?" He looked at Jungkook to which he nodded in agreement.
"It's settled then!" Yerin said then they all went inside one by one leaving me outside with Jungkook.
He was standing there next to me while I was trying to digest what just happened. I'm not sure if my senses are right but there's definitely something going on. Ever since this morning, they kept on pushing Jungkook to me for whatever reason. Not that I'm complaining but, I'm worried about Jungha's feelings. Why isn't she saying anything about this?
"I'll go get extra pillows and blanket." Jungkook said.
"You uh- you don't have to." I stuttered. "I'll get them for you." I replied then walked away.
The main desk where the ajumma who takes care of the place is easy to find but I didn't go there exactly. I want to explore the whole place by myself, to take in what's going on and prepare myself for what might happen if I go back and find myself to be the reason for Jungha's jealousy.
I walked towards the direction that says koi fish pond, opposite to where I'm supposed to go. The fish pond had a small archway designed by beautiful plants on the side. It was filled by beautiful summer colors that lightened up my mood instantly.
I walked towards the small wooden bridge and enjoyed the watching the koi fish below me. There's so many of them that I gave up counting how many are they. The golden color of the fishes reflects the sun above me, they're like moving stars across the dark pond. I'm amazed how glistening they are, I've never seen any fish shine like them before.
I want to feed them something, gladly I still have the crackers in my pocket that Yerin gave to me this morning. This was supposed to be for the seagulls, but I guess this is why we weren't able to feed them, so I can play with all the koi fish here as I feed them.
I walked towards the edge of the pond and left the bridge so I can throw the crackers near to my feet, attracting them to come near me. I took my shoes off and sat on the big pile of rock placed on the pond, my feet dangling, almost reaching the waters.
I started throwing bits of the crackers near me but not a single fish ate it. So I got up and threw another bits of crackers as far as I can so it would reach to where the fish are. I waited for a couple of seconds before one of the white platinum colored koi fish ate it. I smiled that it actually ate the crackers, I thought they wouldn't like it.
With that, I made a trail of crackers leading to my feet. The white koi fish ate the second cracker that I threw before the other fishes started fighting for the crackers. The smile on my fish keeps getting bigger the more they eat it.
Now that they're near my feet, I got to observe them more. There are a lot of white colored koi that has orange stains on them, there's also this black and orange koi that I didn't know exists. I thought all koi fishes are in white and orange or red color only. I also noticed that there's only one fish that's plain in color, the one who first ate the cracker, and I think it's the most beautiful among them.
Feeding them became therapeutic to me for some reason. Watching them swim around me felt hypnotizing, entrancing me with the way they dance with each other. I wanted to join them and feel how silky they are. I started climbing down the big rock but someone held my arms stopping me from doing so.
"Yah! Are you crazy?" Jungkook held my arm tightly. "I've been looking everywhere for you." He sounded relieved.
"I just want to play with them." I squinted as I look up to him, the sun was on my eyes.
"Let's go, we still have to get the pillows." He blocked the sun for me and I got to see a better view of him. I sighed then got up, wore my shoes and walked half heartedly.
I followed behind him making sure there's a safe distance between us. I don't want Jungha to see us together again, it might make my situation more complicated than it already is.
"Oh! Did you find her?" I heard an old woman speak.
"Yes ajumma, she was in the pond." Jungkook moved aside revealing me.
"You're lucky to have a boyfriend like him child." The ajumma winked at me and I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Ani-" My eyes widened. "-he's not my- I'm not his- ajumma. We're not-" I stuttered.
"Aigoo. What a cute girlfriend you have here, you two reminded me of my husband when we're still at your age." She pinched both of our cheeks before giving us the blankets and pillows we asked for.
"Kamsahamnida." Jungkook bowed to the old lady. I copied him before following him back to our room.
When we arrived, the beds are all empty, everyone else was gone.
I walked past him and climbed to my bed immediately. I dialled Yerin's phone but my call was sent directly to voicemail so I dialled Mingyu's only to have the same result. I ended up calling them four times but to no avail, not a single call got throug. I started sending them messages on their whereabouts.
"Where's everyone?" I asked Jungkook as my last resort after realizing that Yerin and Mingyu won't probably reply to me.
"Yerin, Taehyung and Jimin hyung all went to the market to buy dinner. You'll be cooking by the way." He walked towards my bed and sat on the lower bunk bed. "Jungha and that guy went somewhere I don't know." He continued.
I didn't mind that I'll be cooking our dinner, what caught my attention is how he mentioned Jungha and Mingyu being together. Even though I can't see Jungkook's face below me, it's obvious that he's jealous and I felt like I wanted to go back to where the koi fish are. "Jealous are you?" I tried to sound as if I'm not jealous by teasing him.
"Of course I am!" He let out a deep sigh. I never thought that hearing those words come out of his mouth would be this painful.
"Don't worry about them too much. I'm sure Jungha won't cheat on you." I stopped there as I felt my eyes tearing up.
"What?" He jumped out of bed surprising me a little when I saw his face looking at me confusing.
"I said Jungha won't cheat on you." I buried my face under my pillow, hiding away from Jungkook.
"Of course she won't, she's not my girlfriend pabo." I felt the bed sunk near my feet. Jungkook must have sat there.
"Then why are you- wait. What?" I sat after realising what he said.
"I'm jealous because you keep on looking for Mingyu." He said casually and laughed.
"What?" I whispered to myself.
My mind is still processing what he just said. All this time Jungha wasn't his girlfriend? Then why did Jungha introduced him as her boyfriend that night? I know I saw them kiss in front of me that day, right? Does that mean the song he sang during Jungha's party was for me all along? I feel like my head is about to explode any minute now.
"Eunha, are you even listening to what I'm saying?" He gently held my face and turned it to him.
"Sorry. What were you saying?" I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Nothing, maybe later. Get some rest for now." He smiled and ruffled my hair before jumping out of my bed and walk out of the room.
