I was peacefully sitting on the grass. Just appreciating the cold air that touches my skin when two hands covered my eyes.
"Guess who?"
I know her voice all too well but decided to play with her.
"I don't know. It's hard to guess. Hmm Amber?" she didn't respond "Nah? Oh! Bea? No? Err Rachel?"
She immediately retracted her hand and I received a slapped in my arms.
It's hurts but I didn't mind.
"Who are those girls?!" she asked like she's gonna spit out fires.
I smiled sweetly at her "Hi babe!" instead of answering her.
"WHO.ARE.THOSE.GIRLS?" she emphasized every word and that means I'm in trouble but she's standing and my neck is hurting for looking up.
So I pulled her down and I can't help but to chuckled then she glared at me.
"I don't know okay? I'm just messing with you!"
"Not funny!"
"But it is for me!"
She was about to stand up bu I held her arm.
"Sorry na babe!" sabi ko at nagpacute sa kanya.
"Hindi mo bagay, itigil yan." tinampal niya pa ang noo ko.

I took out my phone.
Dom calling . . .
"Hello insan and Rainee!" kaway nito samin via video call.
We waved back "Hey what's up?" I asked.
"Not much. I just called to inform you that we will be having dinner on your house tonight!" - Dom
"Really? Bakit daw?" I asked.
"Hindi ko alam hahahaha naexcite akong sabihin sayo eh. Pero pwede naman dahil miss na ako ni Tito hahahaha." - Dom
Happy kid siya bes.

"Wait Dad is calling too. Kita nalang tayo mamaya okay?"
"Osige see you!"
She hung up and I answered Dad's.
"Hey Dad."
"Hi Tito!" - Rainee
"It's a good thing that you're with her Rainee. I would like to invite you to dinner at our house. A simple family dinner." - Dad.
Bigla siyang natense.
"T-Tito, I don't know." she looked at me then to him "It's a f-family thing and I-------"
"Rainee, you're a family and I want you to be there. Sky, make sure she'll come or else don't come home." - Dad

"See? you're a family and I'm not!"
She chuckled "Cute!" she kissed my cheek and turn to him "Sige Tito punta ako."
"Good. I need to go now. You two take care okay?"
"Yes Dad."
He cut the call.
I turned to my girlfriend and saw the sadness in her eyes.
"Hey what's the matter?" I touched her cheek.
"Kinda feel guilty."
"What? why?"
"Your family know about us and yet you have never even met my father. I'm sorry."
"Ssh it's okay. I'm not rushing things. I understand if you're not ready or your father or what not. I can wait." I smiled.
She smiled too and leaned in for a kiss.
"I love you." she said.
"I love you too. Now, there's no time to be sad because well gonna spend the day together. Let's go."
I helped her up and we walked hand in hand.
I jolted up from the bed.
Panting.
I dreamt about her and our past. This is not good.
I looked at the clock and it's 6am already. I missed my morning jog.
I got up and walked straight outside of my room and went to the kitchen.
A frowning Dom welcomed me.
"Kagigising mo lang?" she asked.
I took the seat at the counter "Yes. Can you make me a coffee?"
Her frowned deepened "You don't drink coffee."
I sighed "I don't know. I just feel like I need it. Please?"
"Okay okay wait there."
"Thanks." I docked my head on the table.
I just woke up yet I'm feeling tired. Feel like all my energy drained out.
"Morning babe." I kissed her cheek.
She smiled and greeted me back.
We were about to walk towards our school when a car stopped right infront of us.
A handsome man in a black suit came out from it.
He seems familiar.
"Pa?"
"Come Rainee. We are going somewhere."
"But we still have classes." she looked at me and then to him.
Her father's gaze fell on me.
I gulped. It was a blank face.
"G-good morning Sir."
"I already talked to your Dean. He'll excuse you from all your classes today. Hurry up." he looked at me before going back inside.
I have a feeling that he doesn't like me.
"Sky?"
"Go. Minsan lang umuwi Papa mo diba? It's your chance."
She smiled "Thanks."
"Talk or text me later okay?"
She nodded as she got inside the car.
I watched as the car drove away.
I inhaled a deep breath.
"Everything will be alright." I said to myself.
I really hope so.
Night came and I was in the middle of reading when I heard a knock in my door.
I looked at the clock "Who would visit at 11pm?"
I hastily went to the door and looked at the peep hole.
Rainee?
I immediately opened the door and I'm welcomed with her blood shot eyes.
"Hey what happened?" I cupped her face.
She smiled weakly "Can we go inside?"
"Of course."
Inalalayan ko siya hanggang sa makaupo siya sa couch.
I attend to her every need. I'll just ask her later.
"Can I stay the night?" she asked all of a sudden.
"Of course but does your father know?"
Sumiksik siya sa leeg ko.
"If something goes wrong, will you still be my side?"
Inilayo ko siya ng bahagya.
"Ano ba talagang nangyari?"
She looked at her hands.
"We had a fight. He said to stay away from you. That I had no future with you. He can't accept that his only daughter is gay. He'll disown me if I won't comply. I'm scared." tears started to fall from her eyes.
I'm on the verge of crying too.
I don't know how to feel.
What if she leave me?
Tatay niya nalang ang tanging pamilya niya at sino ba naman ako para piliin niya.
"S-so you're breaking up with me?" my voice cracked.
She cupped my face and looked deep in her eyes.
"N-no! I love you okay? Promise, I will never leave. We will go through this together."
"And I love you too." I placed I kissed in her forehead.
"Ms. Quintana!"
"Ma'am!" napasigaw din ako
"You're daydreaming in my class." sagot ng matandang teacher.
"Sorry po." napayuko ako.
"Wag nalang sana maulit." sabi niya saka pinagpatuloy ang pagdidiscuss.
Lunch break.
"Okay ka lang ba?" tanong ni Erika
"H-ha? ah oo naman." pilit na ngiti ko.
"Eh kasi pinaglalaruan mo lang yang pagkain mo."
Napatingin ako sa durog durog na pasta. I sighed at inilayo ko ang plato.
"I'm not really hungry."
"Then you shouldn't have ordered. Nag-aaksaya ka ng pagkain." - Sunny.
Tumayo ako.
"Sorry guys, ndi ko alam wala lang talaga akong gana ngayon. Sige mauna na ako sa inyo." umalis ako at iniwan silang may pagtataka.
I just got here at the parking lot of the building where I live when I saw a familiar figure outside.
I almost ran to her.
"Hey, I didn't see you at school today. I texted you but you weren't responding. May problema ba?"
I can see the sadness in her eyes.
She looked away "Sorry, but I can't do this." she inhaled a deep breath and gaze into my eyes "I'm breaking up with you."
I blinked. Unable to process what she just said.
"H-ha?"
"I realized that I don't really love you and you can't make me happy."
I laughed "Rainee, this is not a good joke okay? stop this please."
Umiling siya "I'm not trying to make you laugh. I'm sorry but this is what we need to stop. It's not gonna work."
"It will work. We just need to be there for each other." I held her hand "You promised."
"I-I'm sorry."
Nagpumiglas siya sa hawak ko at tumakbo sa isang sasakyan at sumakay doon.
Hinabol ko siya at kinatok ang bintana.
"Wait! Rainee, pag-usapan naman muna natin 'to."
"Rainee please."
Biglang umandar ang kotse.
I tried to ran after it but then I realized that I have a f*cking car.
I sprinted back towards mine and followed her.
We stopped at their house. I immediately got out of my car and ran after her.
I held her arm "Rainee naman. We can't just end like this. Please, mag-usap muna tayo before you decide."
"There's nothing to talk about. Umuwi ka na." she turned her back on me.
"Is this because of your father? Did he threatened you again?"
Bigla siyang umikot muli at hinarap ako "No! This is my decision! Hindi na kita mahal. Ayoko na sa ganitong relasyon. Don't you dare dragged my father in this!"
She was mad. This is the very time.
She walked away.
And all I could do is stand there until a hand grabbed my arm.
"Sky!"
It was by brother.
"Come on, we need to get you home."
"Pero Kuya . . . "
"Ssshh. Let her be for the mean time. Give her space to think all of this. Mas lalong magagalit sayo yan kapag kinulit mo."
And he was right.
I know there's a reason behind this and whatever that is, I will not give her up without a fight.
He brought me home using his car. Dom was with him so she drive my car.
Kuya told me that it was Rainee who called him to pick me up.
And that give me more reason not to let her go just like that.
She still care.
2 weeks passed and I haven't seen her since she broke
up with me.
Sinunod ko si Kuya. I let her be. Hindi ko siya kinulit or whatsoever. I focused on my studies but she still catches my mind.
Tahimik akong nagbabasa sa isang bakanteng room ng may tatlong lalaki ang dumaan.
"Bro, is it true that you and Rainee are together now?"
I stopped reading when I heard that.
"Of course! You know me, I can get all the girls I want."
"She's a lesbo right? She have a girlfriend."
Lumabas ako ng room at sinundan sila.
"Not anymore brother. She broke up with her just to be with me hahahahaha."
"Oooooh!"
"So what now? Did you slept with her already?"
"That's too soon. Give me a week and I'll have my way with her hahahaha."
I felt my blood boil.
There's no way in hell they will talk like that about Rainee.
"Know what? Let's have a b----"
"Hey!" I yelled.
The three monkeys looked at me.
I sprinted towards them and did a high knee kick that landed to the guy in the center and he flew way.
The other two were shock and ran away leaving the other one.
I know this guy.
He's one of the popular kids in this school and number one jerk too.
He struggled to stand in his feet.
"What the hell!" he yelled.
"Take back what you said."
"What did I say?"
"You said that Rainee is you girlfriend. Take that back and apologized to her."
He then laughed out loud. Loud enough to create a crowd around us.
"So you're the girlfriend huh? oops let me correct that. EX-girlfriend." he smirked.
I glared at him.
"Just let us be. You versus a guy like me? tsk tsk not gonna happen dyke."
I clenched my fist. This guy need to learn his lessons.
"What's going on here?"
And there she was. The very reason for this commotion.
"Rainee, it's nice to see you here." lumapit siya dito at hinapit ito sa bewang ng lalaki "Can you tell to our little friend here that we are a couple now. She can't seem to accept the reality."
Tumingin ako sa kanya "That is not true right?"
"He's my boyfriend."
I didn't know that a merely three words can make a heart stop beating.
Parang pinipiga ang puso ko. I can barely breathe.
Napayuko ako. I simply wiped my eyes before a tear fall.
I raised my head and instead of her, a fist collided in my jaw. Made me took a stepback because of the impact.
I glared at the culprit and kicked him as hard as I can do.
Lumipad na naman siya.
"Tyler!" I heard Rainee and attend to his aid. She helped him up. Nit bothering to evem glanced at me.
"2 weeks. Dalawang linggo lang nakaraan at kating kati ka nang palitan ako?!" I yelled. Too bad ndi yun maiintindihan ng mga chsimosang 'to.
Binigay niya ang lalaki sa kasama nito.
Ay wow bumalik pala sila.
She walked towards me.
PAAAAAK!
Shet mas malakas pa 'to kesa suntok kanina. Halos mabali na ang leeg ko.
"How dare you! Wala kang alam! Hindi mo alam ang kahihiyan na tinitiis ko tuwing nakikita tayong magkasama. Hindi mo ako mabibigyan ng matinong pamilya. Akala ko mahal kita pero buti nalang nagising ako. Tama nga si Dad, wala akong mapapala sayo. Kaya pwede ba layuan mo na ako!" she yelled into my face.
This time, I let the tear fall as she turn her back on me.
Every word pierced through my heart and soul.
Sobrang sakit ang ipamukha sayo ang mga hindi mo kayang gawin at ibigay. Hindi pa siya nakuntento at sinampal pa ako ng reyalidad.
It all boils down to that.
Me being a f*cking girl.
Umalis ako.
Tumakbo paalis.
Hindi ko alam kung saan ako tutungo. Basta ang alam ko ay gustong lumayo.
I'm walking for hours.
Baka sakaling mapagod at kahit papaano ay hindi ko maramdaman ang sakit nitong puso ko.
It was passed 8pm when I stopped.
I saw a group of guys getting inside of an abandoned building.
May mga nagbabantay sa labas.
I got curious.
Sinundan ko ang mga ito.
Tinanong ako ng nga nagbabantay kung saan ako pupunta.
I toled them that I was with those guys who just got in.
Naniwala naman sila at pinapasok ako.
Madilim at masukal sa loob. Naglakad-lakad ako hanggang sa makarinig ako ng ingay.
Palakas ng palakas habang palapit ako.
Ilang sandali pa ay tumambad sakin ang isang caged ring. May dalawang tao ang nasa loob at nagbabasagan ng mukha.
Yung isa dehado na habang yung kalaban niya ay ni wala pang galos.
Nagsigawan ang mga tao ng may tumumba na sa dalawa. Nakita ko kung pano nila binigay ang pera sa mga nanalo sa pustahan.
"Who wants to challenge our number one fighter? Who have the balls to fight this beast?!" nag-ingay yung taong nasa loob.
Mas ginanahan sa narinig.
"I want to fight."
The spotlight landed on me.

Which work of mine do you like the most?
As for me, favorite ko yung Coffee and Love Thy Neighbor. Coffee kasi technically, it's one of those story that I made in my head. Hindi ko alam kung bakit tumatak to sa utak ko after I don't know how many years. Love Thy Neighbor kasi, ibang scenes dun totoong nangyari. All in all, these two are my hugot stories.
