August (The outfits in the Media!!)
These past two days have been..trying. I'm trying to think of a way to tell Jayla she won't be seeing her mom anymore and every scenario ends with her crying her eyes out and screaming she hates me. I was currently in the shower trying to let some of this stress go. Cat is trying to help me but I just feel like nothing is working I've been more to myself than ever.
I didn't even go to the Gala but I made Cat go even though she said she didn't want to, she had an award to receive and I wasn't gonna let her miss that so I made her go, I can't lie my wife looked absolutely beautiful in that custom made African Dashiki. I came out of my thoughts and turned off the water then got out and started getting dressed, I pulled on a black shirt a pair of grey sweats and pulled some socks on my feet. As I combed out my hair Cat came in she looked drained and annoyed so I decided not to say anything.
I honestly feel like I'm pushing my own wife away and I don't like that at all and I know she probably feels the same way but she isn't gonna say anything. I watched as she pulled a pair of dark blue leggings from the closet and a random shirt before grabbing her underwear and bra and she headed straight for the bathroom. I sighed and sat on the bed waiting for her to get out the bathroom, this gotta change it's only been a few days since Alyssa died but it's taking to much from my relationship with Cathandra.
I started looking around for my phone and remembered I left it on the bathroom sink, I opened the door quietly and the first thing I heard were soft whimpers and sniffles, I looked towards the shower and saw Cat covering her face crying. I didn't even say anything I just quickly stripped down to my boxers and got in the shower and held her.
"Stop crying baby" I said quietly, she fought against my grip but I wasn't letting go, the quiet sobs turned into loud body shaking cries as she broke apart in my arms. It hurt me to see her like this because she never really cries and I knew it was because of my actions constantly pushing her away when all she wanted was to help me.
We stayed like that for an hour and for that full hour she did not stop crying, when she finally quieted down I looked down at her and she was falling asleep, I turned off the water and picked her up bridal style carrying her into our bedroom, I dried her off with her towel and pulled on her panties a pair of sleeping shorts and a loose t-shirt on her then laid her back against the pillows and pulled the covers up over her.
I went and checked on the kids and everyone was asleep so I went and got started on dinner for everyone, starting today I gotta pull myself out this funk I'm in and get shit together I might just break the news to Nayla tomorrow about her mama but I just need time to be on my side right now. I made baked macaroni and cheese with 3 different cheeses, with some barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, collard greens and mashed potatoes, I don't know what got into me cooking like this but I didn't mind.
After I was done cooking I went upstairs to check on the kids but none of them were in their rooms not even Elijah so I went to Cats room and everyone was on the bed sleeping cuddled up on her Elijah was laying across her chest and rest of the kids were scattered on either side of her. I woke up AJ, Nayla and Zoey and told them to go ahead and wash up for dinner then took up Elijah from Cats chest and held him as I sat next to her.
"Babe....Cat...Cathandra I know you not sleeping so hard wake up and come eat this food before your kids get away with it" I said shaking her.
"Mmmmm! August what the hell" she said sitting up rubbing her eyes.
"I made dinner you want something to eat?" I said bouncing Elijah in my arms.
"No" she said rolling over to go back to sleep.
"To bad your gonna eat, you ain't been eating nothing and don't think I ain't notice it, get up and get ready don't make me come back here for you" I said getting up, I carried Elijah downstairs and on the way down he woke up, I set him in the high chair and cleaned off his hands before grabbing the mashed potatoes and feeding him, I had already made plates for everyone except myself I was gonna eat last.
"Daddy, you cooked all this food?" Zoey asked coming in.
"Yes now sit at that table and eat" I said feeding Elijah who was just about happy as hell eating everything that came around to him this little boy was something else he's at that point where whatever you eat he wants to eat too. I looked up at the kids eating away just as Cat came into the kitchen dressed with some sweats and her hair was down hanging in her face, she grabbed her plate and sat down at the table with the kids said a little prayer and started eating.
"Dada!!" I looked back at Elijah who was reaching for the bowl of mashed potatoes in my hand and chuckled.
"Alright fat man, relax I'll feed you" I said making him laugh. After I was done feeding him, I washed out his bowl and took him upstairs to go wash him off before bed.
I filled his tub with warm water and put his Johnson's baby wash in the bath and washed him up, I drained the water and rinsed him off giving him a chance to play around in the water while I grabbed his clothes for bed, I pulled out a onesie sleeper outfit and took him out the tub that he was a little fussy about and dried him off as I was getting him dressed this little boy started falling asleep. After I dressed him I rocked him til he fell asleep completely then put him down in his crib and turned on the baby monitor and took the other one leaving the room, I went back down and saw Cat washing the dishes.
"You don't have to wash the dishes babe I got it" I said about to move her.
"No, go ahead and eat I'll finish up here, dinner was great by the way so thank you" she said glancing over at me.
"No need to thank me....Cat I'm sorry, I know I been pushing you away and everything these last couple days I just..."
"You needed your space, I know that Aug, this isn't easy but I'm your wife so I understand that, I know when you need time to yourself and believe it or not this is hitting me just as hard as it is you, Nayla asked me about Alyssa today...that's why I broke down in the shower" once she said that I stopped and looked at her.
"What did you tell her?"
"I didn't get a chance to say anything because Elijah started crying and AJ came asking for juice" she said sighing.
"I was gonna tell her tomorrow...I just don't know what to say to her"
"Telling a child their parent is never coming home or that they'll never see them again is never easy baby but it has to be done, if you want I'll sit down with you and help you tell her" she said turning to me. I stared into her eyes and kissed her softly.
"What would I do without you in life huh?" I said hugging her from behind, she leaned into me and turned slightly kissing my cheek.
"I don't know but go eat before your food gets cold" she said pushing me back with her ass.
"You can't expect me to want to go eat when all that ass is poking out like that for the taking" I said making her laugh.
"August if I finish washing these dishes before you start eating your gonna fight me" she said sternly.
"Chiilll" I said picking my food and sitting at the table, I've watched a lot of people girls and guys a like suffer at the hands of my wife and I wasn't finna be added to that list ya heard me?
Cat
I was lost in thought to say the least...I didn't know what to do I know I told August that everything was fine but it's not, him pushing me away all the time along with the arguments it started hurt me so it became a daily routine of me trying to avoid him in and around the house, I'd wait til he fell asleep to go to bed (just because I'm upset don't mean I'm sleeping in a separate room) whenever he got into one room I would be in the next, just to try and avoid any issues between me and him.
Part of my breakdown was from Nayla asking me about her mom but a whole lot of it had to do with what was happening with me and August but I just wanna forget about it and go on with the day, I don't wanna dwell on it no nothing. After I finished washing the dishes, I went and pulled a chair up right next to Aug and played with his hair while he ate.
"You know I think we should go out tonight, with everything that's happening you and I been stressing way to much for our own good" he said turning to me.
"You sure that's a good idea? Whose gonna watch the kids at such a short notice?" I asked confused.
"Baybeh it's still early leave that to me, you just worry about getting your little fine self ready for tonight" he said making me blush.
I'll never understand how I've made it this many years with this man and still manage to blush like a high school teenager every time he compliments me, it's just impossible. I got up and went to pick out my outfit, I settled for a thigh length long sleeved black and white dress and a pair of black heels I set it out on my bed and got in the shower I washed up really fast then got out and started getting ready. I beat my face to perfection then started on my hair doing small right curls in them, I slipped on my dress just as August walked into the room dressed in all black I bit my lip as he walked over to me and grabbed my hand turning me around.
"Mm mm mm, you look delicious" he said biting his lip, I laughed and pushed him back slightly.
"Yes I know thats what I was aiming for, who you found to watch the kids?"
"The neighbors daughter Kelsey she ain't mind" he said checking himself in the mirror.
"Okay I just gotta put on these heels then we can go" I said sitting on the bed, I slipped my heels on my feet zipping them up then grabbed my clutch purse, I fluffed up my hair a bit and August grabbed my hand walking down the stairs in front of me as we went down I could hear the kids in the living room.
"Alright kids me and your mom are leaving cmon y'all know the drill" he said as we got off the stairs, I bent down and hugged AJ kissing the top of his head while August had Nayla and Zoey, I picked up Zoey and kissed her cheek.
"Be good alright guys don't give Kelsey any problems" I said after I gave everyone a hug and kiss.
"Yes mommy we know" Zoey said nodding her head.
"Alright and be in bed in time, thanks so much for coming at a short notice Kel" I said giving her a hug.
"Oh it's not biggie Mrs. Alsina I was at home not doing anything anyway, plus I love your kids" she said watching them run around.
"Difference is you get to give em back, we'll be back before midnight" I said as we made our way out the house.
We got into his 2016 Chiron Bugatti and I pulled on my seatbelt as he flipped the ignition and headed down the street. I was actually curious as to where we were going but I was just gonna let this boy surprise me at least that's what I told myself.
"I bet you asking yourself where we going ain't you?" He asked chuckling.
"Yes, but I wasn't gonna ask I was gonna just wait til we get there" I said biting my lip slightly.
"Why? I'm so used to you asking, don't start switching up on your man now" he said grabbing my hand in his, I laughed and looked out the room.
"So where exactly are we going?"
"Didn't exactly think about that before we left" he said grinning as I stared at him.
"Stop playing August" I said looking at him.
"I'm not playing we already ate so I was kind of lost as to where we should go but I think I know the perfect spot" he said smiling.
Looord please help me handle this man tonight cause only you know what he doing.
