Chapter Fifty-Five // {jordan's pov}

I sat quietly besides Rick on the couch. Both of us didn't say anything. He had been quiet ever since I showed him the scratch.

I glanced at him as he stood up. He held his hand out to me in which I took.

"Where are we going?" I asked in a quiet voice as he pulled me up. He didn't say a word. Rick pulled me out of the house across the road, directly. He pulled me up the stairs, onto this house's porch. He knocked on the door loudly, multiple times. I cringed, thinking that the person living here will be pissed.

A man opened it, with a worried look.

"You're a doctor, right?" Rick asked in a rushed tone. He nodded frantically, looking at me for half a second.

"Yes, I am. I'm Dr. Jones," the man introduced himself. I hadn't seen him before. Considering that I was dying, I didn't even think of trying to get help or something. I just wanted to be with my family.

"She has a cut on her shoulder, can you try find out exactly what caused it?" Rick questioned, giving him a look that meant he had to. The doctor nodded in reply and guided us into a room. I just wanted to go home and spend time with the people who meant the most to me.

"Sit down and take your shirt off please," Dr. Jones requested. I sighed before pulling off my shirt and passing it to Rick. I sat down on the chair.

Dr. Jones instantly started doing weird shit and basically poking at the wound. I'm no doctor so...

I flinched as something cold -- which I assumed was metal, went straight into the wound.

"Don't move," the doctor said sternly. My eyes watered up from the stinging that he was causing. Rick stared off at the wall across. He was deep in thought. I whimpered as the doctor removed something from my shoulder.

"Glass," was all that he said.

"Glass? What do you mean, glass?" I questioned, frowning.

"There was a fairly large shard of glass in your skin, I'm surprised that I didn't notice it at first. It was well hidden with all the blood. You're lucky that you came to me, it could've gotten infected," he said, smiling at me.

I blinked a few times.

"So, I'm not going to die?" I asked timidly. He shook his head and chuckled.

"You're not dying."

"Are you mad at me still?" I questioned Rick as we walked down the street, holding hands. He hummed a reply. He had been quiet ever since before.

"I'm really sorry... I just.. couldn't imagine you being out there and possibly dying without me being by your side," I mumbled, glancing off to Carl who was carrying Judith with Enid by his side. I suddenly felt like I was going to be sick.

"I should've told you that I was leaving and then none of this would've happ-" I pulled my hand away from his and ran to the tree beside the path. I fell to my knees as I dry-heaved. I had nothing to vomit up. Rick rushed over and pulled my hair back.

I sat back normally and leaned against the tree, out of breath. I closed my eyes, trying to get rid of the feeling.

"Are you okay? Have you ate or drank anything today?" Rick asked, squeezing my hand.

"I'm.. fine. I just felt sick all of a sudden. I've been feeling like this all day. Daryl lied about taking a wrong turn, I had to get out the car to throw up, that's why we were late. Then it happened after I found out about this stupid cut on my shoulder," I informed, opening my eyes to look at him. Concern was written all over his features. He probably felt like he should've been there.

"I'm pretty sure I just ate something that my stomach didn't appreciate," I added, biting my bottom lip.

"Jords, you just dry-heaved, there's nothing left in your stomach. Haven't you thought that maybe you might be-"

"Pregnant?" I questioned while chuckling, "of course not."

"Be serious. You could be. We didn't even use a condom the other week," Rick said seriously. I almost laughed.

"I didn't get morning sickness before. It's not even morning!" I said, trying to prove that I couldn't be pregnant.

"Jordan, some people get nausea throughout the day, not just during the morning," Rick explained while pulling me up.

"I don't want what happened before, to happen again," I whispered as he pulled me in for a hug.

"I won't let that happen," he promised. The look in his eyes showed me that he meant it.

I opened the bathroom door, holding three pregnancy tests. I hadn't looked at any of them yet. I smiled at Rick who sat on the bed, waiting nervously. I was actually really excited.

"Here," I passed them over to him.

"You sure you want me to look first?" he questioned, grinning nervously. I nodded with a soft smile. He looked down at all three of them. He smiled even more if that was possible, putting a massive grin on my own face.

Rick stood up and picked me up, causing a squeal to erupt from me. He spun around with me in his arms multiple times, making me giggle in delight.

"We're having a baby!" he stated excitedly as he put me back on the ground.

"Does this mean I'm not allowed to go with you tomorrow?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. He glared at me playfully.

"Yes, it does. You're staying right here," he chuckled. He crouched down so his head was in line with my stomach.

He gently placed his hands where the baby would be. He placed his lips to my stomach before standing up to his full height. His blue eyes twinkled with happiness and excitement.

"Today has been the most eventful day of my life, honestly," I whispered, with a smile that was just permanently stuck on my face. I couldn't believe that I was actually having a baby with Rick. A child...

"If a walker had caused that cut, I don't know what I would do with myself.. How the hell did you get glass in your shoulder anyway?" he questioned, smirking at me.

"I have absolutely no idea, but it doesn't matter now. We're having a baby!" I squealed, jumping up with a grin from ear to ear. I grabbed his hand and pulled him downstairs to tell everyone the good news. I also had to tell my Dad.

Maybe, just maybe, things were going to work out here...
