You sit in the dirty room by your self, the corpse of your mother lays in the bed. Your young self does not know that she is dead, you just believe that she is still sleeping. It has been a few days since you have ate anything. Your stomach growls as you pick up your small body.
"I will be back mama." you whisper as if not to wake her up.
You sneak around the underground city, your dirty dress clinging to your small body. You make your way to a food stand and quickly steal a loaf of bread alerting the man.
"Hey you little theft!! Get back here!!" he shouts running after you. You quickly run into different alleyways eventually loosing the man. You look at the bread tucked under your arm and take a small piece of the top and put it in your mouth.
You make sure to leave more then half of the bread for your mom,even though she never eats it. She always said that you needed to eat more, but she has not ate anything for days.
As you are walking back to your house someone snatches the bread out of your hands.
"Hey come back here!!" you shout running after the figure. Once you are close you hop on the person making him fall to the floor, the bread flew from his hand.
The figure moves trying to push you off but you hang on trying to see who it was. The figure had a dirty cloak over his body so you try to yank it off but he pushes you off. You see the bread and run to it but a hand on your ankle pulls you making you land face first onto the hard ground.
Your tiny legs kick out to hit the person but you feel small hands stop your bare foot. You look back and see that the figure had black hair. Before anyone of you can move a strong wind blows off the hood and you see a young boy not much older then you.
His stormy grey eyes look at your (E/C) ones. Both of you un-moving just staring at each others eyes. A few minutes pass before he lets go of your foot and gets up and takes the bread from the ground. You are about to get up but half of the bred is tossed to you. Before you can look up the boy is gone.
You quickly pick up the bread and run home unaware that the little boy was making sure you got home safely. You enter the small house as you tip toe to the room. You slowly open the door and stick your head in.
"Mommy i'm home." you call out softy as you make your way to the bed. "Mommy?" you call out as you shake her shoulder. "mommy?" you call out again. You just place the bread next to her and snuggle in the covers on the other side.

It has been a few days and your young self then realized that your mom is never going to wake up from her dreams. You exit the house and go in search for food as you are walking you notice a tall figure following you. Every turn you make the figure does too.
You start to run and hear foot steps run after you. Your heart is beating so fast, as you keep running trying to get away from who ever is chasing you. You are about to turn a corner but a hand comes in front of your face and covers you mouth. You feel another hand come around your waist.
"Look at what we have here, you will sell good." a deep voice says as he starts to drag you away making you kick out. Your little legs doing little to no damage. The man's hand still over your mouth you open your mouth wide and bite down hard making the man yell out in pain.
"You little filthy runt!!" he shouts as he slaps your face knocking you down to the floor as tears form in your eyes. The man is slowly approaching you as you crawl backwards but your back hits a wall. "Now why don't i teach you a lesson before you are sold?" he says as he is taking his belt off.
Before he can touch you he is hit by the boy you ran into a couple days ago. The boys legs kick out and hits the man on his nether regions. The boy tugs you to your feet and starts to drag you through the alleyway.
"You are a huge idiot, a girl like you should not be alone down here." he says making you angry.
"I am a big girl I can handle myself just fine!" you say lifting your chin up.
He tries to drag you somewhere making you uneasy. You start to tug on your arm, trying to get free but his hold is pretty strong for a little kid. You pull your arm more causing him to grip your hand more.
"Stop moving brat. I'm not going to hurt you." he says trying to make you calm down. "I need to clean your wound as well." he says making you blink in confusion.
"wound?" you ask looking at the boy in confusion.
"Tch, are you stupid? The one on your cheek you idiot." he says rolling his eyes as your eyes widen. You bring a hand to your cheek and feel a big scratch mark and your cheek was swollen.
He leads you to a small house and opens the door, he sits you down on a small couch as he walks away to a room. You take the time to look around the small house and notice that it was surprisingly clean.
The boy returns with a first aid kit and opens it taking out a cotton ball and puts some anti disinfectant on it. He places the cotton ball on your cut making you wince and whimper in pain. He stops for a moment before continuing cleaning your wound.
"What's your name?" you ask as he finished.
"It's Levi." he says putting the first aid kit away.
"Mine is Y/N, Thank you Levi for helping me but i need to go home." you say getting up and open the door but Levi stops you.
"You mean the small dirty room?" he says making your eyes widen.
"H-How do you know that?" you stutter out
"Followed you home." he says as if it was normal thing to do
"Why?, that is creepy you know." you comment making him click his tongue.
"Whatever brat." he says crossing his arms across his chest.
" Don't call me that I'm not a brat, I'm 9 years old." you say and cross your arms across your chest
"I am 13, I can call your brat if I want to, Brat." he says glaring at you. There is a small silence before he throws a fluffy blanket at you. "You can stay here if you want to." he says and walks off to enter a room the door closing behind him.

It has been months and you and Levi have gotten close. He was surprised that you stayed but couldn't be more happier, but he would never admit it. Currently you two are sitting on the floor in silence.You are reading a book as he is cleaning his small pocket knife
"Levi?" you call out his name. He makes a small hmh in response.
"Are we best friends now?" You ask looking at him, he turns his head and looks at you.
"If you want to be best friends." He says as he continues to clean his knife
"OK, say Levi why do you always clean that knife so much?" you ask
"Tch, none of your business, instead of reading that book why don't you clean something?"
"But that boring lets go do something fun!!" you say making Levi stop cleaning his knife.
'Fine come on lets go before it gets dark out!" he says opening the door.
You two are walking and notice that you are heading deeper in the underground. You quickly take hold of his hand. At first Levi stiffens but then relaxing as he leads you to a mysterious place.
"Close your eyes Y/N."
You quickly closes them as you feel him lead you. You feel a breeze of air making you shiver a bit. "Ok open your eyes."
You open them and blink as you see a hole letting in some sunlight. "Wow how cool!!" you shout as you run under the sunlight and twirl around. "how did you find this place Levi?" you ask turning your head to him but you notice him look down.
"My mom used to take me here before she died." He says kicking a small rock.
You run to him and wrap your arms around him as tears form in your eyes. "I-I'm sorry i asked Levi. I didn't know." You hiccup as he looks at you in shock.
There is a small silence between you two as Levi removes himself from your hold and steps into the light shinning down. He looks up and takes a deep breath.
"One day i will get out of this filthy place." He mutters out as you walk to stand next to him.
"I'll come with you. We are best friends after all!!" You say as you smile at him. "Come on Levi, lets go home before it gets dark, I'll race you home!!" you shout as you take a running head start.
You look back a moment to see Levi still standing there. Unknown to you Levi was hiding his small blush forming on his face.His heart beat was beating fast. He was confused on why his heart started to beat fast. All he can think about are the words you said to him. He repeated the words that you told him in his head. He gives out a small smile as he runs after you leaving you giggling as you two head back home together.
