I couldn't spend the rest of my summer like this. I had to find a way to make up with Kylie.

She would barely leave her room, but then again, so would I.

One thing that we both had in common was that we were both incredibly stubborn. She shut people out, just like me, but she had never shut me out. She didn't want to. But she had.

I had cried my eyes out for days, but now all the regretful and bittersweet tears were gone, and that empty, nauseous feeling replaced them instead.

I forced myself to get out of my messy bed, and made my way to the living room.

Kylie was there watching something on the tv, eating popcorn out of a large bowl.

I hesitated to speak, thinking she would ignore me. But I mustered up all I had and croaked out: "Kylie?"

She barely heard me, but I knew she couldn't resist turning her head to look at me. She squinted her eyes, giving me that dirty look, and snapped her head back in the direction of the tv.

It was the first time I had spoken to her since our argument.

I knew I had to, so I slowly went and sat down on one of our sofas. My hands were shaking, my throat was dry and my heart was thumping against my chest.

"Please," I started, "Here me out."

She didn't reply, but she didn't move. I knew she wanted to listen. She just munched on her popcorn.

"When I say this, it's not just so that we can make up, I really, deeply mean it from the bottom of my heart: I swear, I never wanted to ruin your relationship! It's the worst thing I could have ever done, and I know I've been the worst best friend lately, just locked up in my room and not trying. But the thing is, I never told you how my mom and Claudia died. I was too afraid to admit it. But now I have no choice."

I took a deep breath before I spilled everything to her. Seeing my mom just before she was thrown to the hard concrete. Seeing her eyes staring out above her.

Claudia had soon committed suicide after mom's death, because she hardly knew her step dad (my dad) and couldn't take it anymore.

By the end, my cheeks were spilling with tears and my bottom lip quivered.

"So," I managed between sobs, "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for starting it all, for not being there for you. I really deserved everything. But now I just can't do it anymore. I can't be in my room all day, staring at a wall with nothing to do but just feel miserable. I need you Kylie. I can't believe we let a guy separate us. A jerk at that."

I could see a tiny little smile crack onto her face.

She finally turned to face me, and all the hatred was gone from her eyes. Her face softened, and she grabbed me into a massive bear hug.

She started to sob too, but I cried in relief.

I had her back.

I had changed. Well, I tried to convince myself I had.

I started to loose a few of my fans, but, it was for the best, because less fans meant less stress.

Kylie and Maddie had made up, because they walked around the beach and everywhere else together.

There was one small, tiny piece of me that wished I was clean with them too.

But I would always get angry when I thought how Maddie had been ignoring me for no reason. For a very long time.

I didn't deserve it.

It was impossible to try and clear things between Nick and I, because, he thought I was disgusting.

I started to not care at all, just letting things flow through my mind, however annoyed and frustrated Megan became.

"Grayson, you're acting like an idiot." she spit at me when I let her into my apartment.

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest lazily.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?!" She grabbed the packet of cigarettes on the table in the living room.

"'Cause." I replied. Her eyes twitched in anger.

"Stop this. Now!" she screeched at me. She stomped over to the kitchen and threw the packet into the bin.

"Right." she returned to the living room and crashed onto the sofa, massaging her for head. "Why did you come back here for the summer?"

"I don't know." I mumbled, sitting down on the sofa too.

"To take a break!" Megan stared at me, "But smoking isn't the type of break you should be taking! It kills you inside!"

"It's a temporary thing," I lied, "I'll soon come off it."

"You're never going to smoke another cigarette in your life." she raised her voice, pointing her finger at me. "Also," she continued, "Your fans."

"Who cares about them." I grumbled, leaning back.

"Who cares?!" Megan stood up suddenly, "Your fans were there when nobody was, remember?! You were nearly done for!! But your fans kept you going. Your fans are the ones you should be thanking every single day!"

The words seemed to come through one of my ears and go out through the other.

They didn't really matter to me.

No one did.

"Grayson!" Megan yelled at me, "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHARMING, CONFIDENT ACTOR WHO LOVED HIS FANS TO DEATH? IS HE STILL IN THERE? BECAUSE I'D LIKE TO TALK TO HIM PLEASE, NOT THIS IMBECILE." She leaned over me, and I thought she might've hit me.

She walked around the living angrily, her bob bouncing around and her eyes full of frustration.

"Look, you are going to snap out of this, mister, and get out there and be the person you used to be," she warned me, "Or I'm done with you!"

This alarmed me, but I was careful not to show it. I just stared at her.

She stared back at me, squinting her eyes.

"Fine." I gave in.

Kylie and I ran after the ice cream truck, screaming at it to stop.

We had missed it when it had circled the park.

Kylie ran a little faster and caught up with the slow vehicle, then banged on the side of it a couple of times.

They finally made a stop, and I erupted with laughter when they stared at us in confusion.

Kylie just smiled at them widely and ordered her usual.

"Yoghurt flavour with sprinkles please." I smiled at them too, and they went to the back of the truck to prepare the ice cream for us.

We were both sweating, our faces flustered and our hair all over the place. We had run from the beach when we had seen it from afar.

Kylie gave them the money and we took our ice creams, thanking them and wandering off along the path.

"Yeah, but, the best colour on the top would be-"

"Hey," I interrupted Kylie from her argued response about a top a random girl was wearing, "Is that...."

I squinted my eyes at someone who was getting out of a cab at the corner of the road. We were nearing the exit of the park, and I grabbed Kylie's arm, walking a bit faster.

I finally could see the person clearly and gasped.

"Nathan?"
