*Chris
•The next day
"Dada wake up!" I heard one of my daughters say to me.
"Daddy you sleep too long!" I heard the other one say..I'm pretty sure it was Mariah with her smart mouth. I tried moving my finger.
"Dada it's Monster M and Mimi and momma we mwiss you dada!" I felt tiny hands all over my face
"Morgan stop hitting your daddy!" I heard London's soft voice.
"But he sweep too long." She hit me again
"Daddy! Daddy! Me and M want some cereal!" Mimi yelled in my ear
"I don't think he can hear you ladies." London said sadly
"Why Lon Lon?" Mimi asked
"Because he's resting honey...he needs it." She said
"Daddy wakey wakey!" M hit my face again
"M he can't hear you stop." London said again. This was killing me, I tried moving my fingers and open my eyes, but nothing was working it brought tears to my eyes.
"Why you cry daddy?" M asked I felt her tiny hands wipe my tears away.
"Don't cry daddy." Mimi said after her
As they both planted wet kisses all over my face.
"Chris?" I heard London's voice come closer
I moved my fingers a little opening my eyes a little but closed them back because the light was too bright.
"I'm woke baby." My voice came out horse
"Daddy!" M and Mimi both attacked me making my body go limp, but smile nonetheless
"I'm woke." I smiled grabbing both of them
"CHRIS!" London screamed jumping on me
"Ouch...ouch." I winced
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry." She quickly got up
"It's fine, I'm fine." I said softly trying to save my voice.
I took a good look at her and she looked good and healthy.
"Daddy why you sleep so long?" Mimi asked
"Because daddy was tired." I replied rubbing my hands slowly through her curly pony tail
"We mwiss you dada." M said close to my face, I missed my little ones
"I missed you too." I smiled kissing her nose
"Lon Lon is mommy back?" Mimi asked London
"She should be." London replied calling the nurses
"Where is everybody?" I asked clutching my ribs as I tried to sit up
"Tae was here when I got here, but she went to go get the girls something to eat. You're mom had to work, but said she'll be here shortly. Ty, Mijo, and Nip came to see you last night." She trailed off the list
"Wait Ty, Mijo, AND Nip...together...in the same room?" I asked holding M so she wouldn't fall of the hospital bed
London shrugged "They're all cool, they came over my house for drinks after coming here." She said
Hm, I'm glad to hear my homies getting along with someone that looked out for me.
The door swung open and Tae came in with 3 bags in her hands. London took them and smiled nodding her head towards me.
Tea looked at me and did the same thing London did and jumped on me.
"Ouch!" I laughed wincing
"Sorry baby!" She said pressing her lips to mine, and for the first time I felt the love.
"Don't scare with me like that again." She grabbed my face
"Okay." I laughed
I seen the look on London's face as she had a frown on it, but it only lasted a quick second before a smile replaced it.
She came over and took Morgan from me as Tae tried to fit in the bed with me.
"What you doing?" I asked looking at her still holding onto M
"Trying to feed my kid Chris." She laughed. I handed M over to her and watched as London sat her in the big seat with her tray of food.
"Would you like your food now Mimi?" She asked sweetly
"Yes." Mimi smiled. I can tell she like London.
"Okay, come on sweetie." She picked her up from the bed and sat her next to her sister with her food in front of her.
"Well I'm gonna step out and make a call to everyone to let them know that you're alright and give you two a minute." She smiled. In her eyes she looked happy and genuine...but I know London and I know something's bothering her.
"Okay, Thank you." Tea smiled at me
Taking her purse London walked out closing the door softly.
"Now back to you. I missed you." Tae mumbled kissing me as my eyes traveled with london as she walked down the hall. *London
"Hey angle?" Mama happy voice spilled into the phone.
"Hello lady. I have great news?" I smiled kicking a small rock as I stood out side
"And what's that?" She asked
"Chris is woke." I smiled just thinking about it
"Oh my god! I'm on my way!" She yelled cheerfully
"Okay woman see you in a few." I laughed at her cheering before hanging up and calling all his friends.
"Yes Ty he's up!" I laughed
He was being so difficult.
"Like up as in walking around or up as in sitting up?" He asked
"Michael the man is up, talking breathing on his own. UP!" I laughed
"Iight blood I was just asking damn! No need to be rude" He kissed his lips trying to sound hurt
"Then stop being dumb and get over here!" I laughed again
"Ard B, yo man gonna be there?" He asked
"I don't know why?" I asked him
"Make sure my homie there." He said
"Homie? Now y'all like B.F.F's now?" I giggled at how girly he sounded
He kissed his lips "What you mean??? Nip the homie, plus I think it's important that Chris know that Nip was on his side" He said making a valid point
"True, I'll ask him about it." I said blocking the sun out of my face
"Iight ma I'll be there in like 20 minutes." He said moving around.
"Okay tell Mijo." I said just trying to save time
"I was bout to scoop him up anyway so I got you." Ty said before we hung up.
The last call I made was to Nip. It rung 3 times before he answered.
"Hello?" He said like he was sleep.
"Baby Chris is up." I said
"Oh that's wassup." He replied
"You gonna come down here?" I asked
"If you want me to." He said
"Of course I want you to. His family gonna be here and Tae's here...I kinda feel out of place." I said honestly, being pregnant has my emotions on raw.
He chuckled lightly "Iight babe give me 15 minutes." He said
"Thank you. Oh and Ty gone be here." I smiled
"Word? Iight shorty I'm on my way." He replied making me laugh harder
"You'll rush to get to your little boyfriend but it'll take 15 minutes to get here for me?" I joked
"I love you babaaaaay!" He sing like chingy
"Just make sure you here!" I laughed before hanging up. Looking around this warm sunny day, I couldn't help but feel that this was a blessing. When I came back into Chris's room the nurse was in there talking to him.
"Mommy!" Morgan yelled as soon as she saw me with a bunch of food all over her face. I put my finger up to my lips telling her to be quite so Chris could hear what was being said. I grabbed a napkin to wip her face. Mimi was playing on Tae's phone as Tea now sat in a chair on the other side of the room.
"Uh Ms. Brown when Chris woke up was he moving freely or very slowly?" The nurse asked but no one said any thing
My back was towards them wiping off Morgan's dirty hands
"Mr. Brown?" She asked making me turning around
"Did he move freely or slowly?" She asked
"Uh I'm not his wife, and he was moving slowly " I corrected her going back to my child with Tae mugging me. She better chill out cause we been cool since before now and all of a sudden she being ride to me cause Chris is woke. She think I didn't peep her dismiss me before I left to call everyone, she need to chill before she the one laying next to Chris hooked up to a machine.
"Oh I'm sorry when are you guys getting married" the nurse asked.
"What?" I turned around so quick
"Your ring? Your daughter....you guys are together right. You're here like everyday, so I just assumed you were his wife or girlfriend." The lady said
"No I'm his girlfriend." Tae replied rudely
"Tae chill." Chris said softly
"I'm sorry" the woman frowned
"Don't be. That's Tea my girlfriend, and that's London my baby mama." He cleared it up. But it some what hurt my feelings to know I'm just his 'baby mama', I don't get that's my daughters mother I know they mean the same thing, but one is just more respectful meanwhile this hoe gets 'girlfriend'....okay. but I ain't gone get into that because it's not about me it's about him and the fact that he's here.
I sat down with M in my lap for the remainder time until people that I want to talk to come.
Mama came first, then Mijo and Ty. A few of Chris's cousins were here as well. With his dad. A knock came in the door before Nip came in.
"Aye wassup ninja!" Ty yelled dapping him up before he could even get to me
"Wassup G?" Nip replied snapping after their little dap fest
"Shid chillin" Ty replied taking his seat
"Hello everyone." Nip spoke to everyone in the room, Chris and Tea just rolled their eyes not speaking. Whatever. They were really meant to be together.
"Hi angle." Mama smiled, she was sitting next to Chris bed
"Hey baby." Nip bent down to kiss me
"Hi." I smiled a little
"What's wrong?" He asked sitting next to me
"Nothing. Tired." I lied
"Aw." He frowned taking the seat next to me taking M from me.
"Nip Nip hi!" She smiled pulling on his facial hair
"Hi princess." He hugged her
Mama kept pointing at me and smiling while she talked to Chris while Tae rolled her eyes.
"What y'all talking about woman?" I asked walking over to them
"This picture. Y'all we about 17 in school. I think it was a school dance and I snapped the picture. I found it the other day." Mama explained looking at the picture
"Can I see?" I asked
"See...you looked so happy!" She showed me the framed picture...and I felt sick to my stomach. Why would she even bring that in here. Why would she show that.
"You remember that?" She smiled at me
I looked at her smiling face to Chris smiling face to Tae mean mug before storming out.
"London honey what's wrong." Mama got up from her seat
"You and everyone else related or even deal with him and her." I pointed at Chris and tea
"Stay away from me and my family." I pointed before tears poured out of my eyes.
Things were going great until that day in the nail salon, from that day forward my life has been a hot mess and a shame. All because of them.
