Gabby
The door slowly swung open as I knocked loudly. "Matt?" I called slowly walking in. The apartment that once used to be ours was unrecognisable with broken glass and furniture scattered around. "Matt," I called again, this time louder. I walked past the kitchen where the tap was running and into the lounge. My heart skipped a beat the moment I saw the woman laying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. Running forward I bent down beside her and felt for a pulse, my hands were bloody the moment I touched her. Her pulse was weak and I pulled out my phone.
"Antonio! Antonio! I think Caseys in trouble." I breathed. "Gabby where are you?" "I'm at his apartment." There was a loud crash behind me and I turned to see a man in all black trying to sneak out. He saw me looking at him and lunged for me, landing straight on top of me as laid next to this other girl. "Tonio help!" I screamed into the phone as the man pushed all his weight down on me making it difficult for me to breathe. "Gabby, Gabby hold on!" I heard him call back as I let out strangled breathing sounds.
The next thing I knew the front door flew open and cpd came charging in. The mans hands went up in surrender and I rolled out from underneath him and then stood up backing away. "Gabby you alright?" Antonio said walking up to me. "I'm fine." "What were you doing here anyway?" He asked. "I had to talk to Casey, you've got to find him Tonio, something's wrong." "We will Gabby don't stress, let's get you looked over at the ambo." "I'm fine seriously." "It's standard procedure, you of all people know that." He said putting his arm around me and leading me out to the ambulance. "Dawson," Shay said walking over with the jump bag on her shoulder. "When they called it in no one told us it was you," she said helping me sit down on the gurney. "I'm fine, I'm just shaken up. What the hell are you doing on shift anyway?" "I'll covering for Chout, he has the flu or something."
Shay took my vitals and I looked at Antonio, "Go back up, they need your help with the investigation." "Are you sure Gabby?" "I've got Shay here, I'm fine." He gave me a small nod and kiss on the cheek before walking back inside. They better find Matt or I swear to god I'll murder someone. I can't help but wonder what that woman was doing inks apartment. Was he sleeping with her? Even if he was I cant be mad, we aren't together, but deep down that idea struck something inside of me.
"Dawson your blood pressure is through the roof," Shay said pulling me back to reality. I sighed and turned my head, knowing I wasn't going to be able to keep this a secret from her, especially with her doing a medical exam on me.
"Shay I'm pregnant," I said rubbing my face with one hand. She looked at me, "is it Caseys?"
I nodded and sighed. "I don't know what I'm going to do." "It's going to be fine Dawson, once Caseys back in the picture I'm sure you'll sort some stuff out." "Yeah I hope so," I mumbled.
"Come on let's get you home okay? Well drop you back in the ambo," Shay said to me taking my hand.
"Okay. Let's go."
